Awesome tent!

I've used this tent once, on a 5 day trip. I love everything about it! If I had to pick something that I didn't like it would be the door zippers. I'd much rather have a single zipper that goes all the way around the door. Rather than 2 separate zippers that meet in the bottom corner.

Easy setup and roomy

Purchased a light 3 season backpacking and bikepacking tent. It's superlight, sets up easy and has good space inside and a roomy vestibule. Really happy with the purchase.

Possibly would buy again if rain fly was improved. If not,

I like the tent overall. A little heavier to carry than what I am used to, but I decided ahead of time to accept that because I was planning a trip on very sandy terrain. I felt a free standing or semi free standing tent might work better in those conditions than my trekking pole ultralight tent. But I must say I don't like the zipper system. Particularly on the rain fly. Constantly getting caught. And we experienced a lot of rain. So the wet material around the zipper was even more difficult to handle, especially if the rain was coming down hard and you were quickly trying to unzip and zip to keep inside dry. I found the rain fly kept the inside nice and dry. But even more difficult to stake down and then open and unzip from inside. Minimal to no condensation. Very good. But the zipper and how easy it is to close and open from inside the tent does not seem well thought out in regards to the rain fly. The tent itself, not a single problem. But don't like design of rain fly and the rain fly zipper system.

Great tent overall, zippers

Great overall tent, the zippers are the only real problem but I was able to look past it for the convenience of everything else

Great Buy!

I mostly use this tent for car camping. It was easy to set up and take down. I had plenty of room especially when sitting up. I like having 2 doors because it gives me more options plus it helps to keep the tent airy.

Great Tent

I needed a very lightweight tent for both backpacking and traveling with my motorcycle. This fits the bill quite well. I purchased the two person model so I would have room for all my gear and space to sleep without being too cramped. I'm not sure how it will do in a heavy storm, as I haven't had to face that yet with this tent.

Fantastic tent

This is an amazing tent, my sister and I take it on all of our adventures. It's great quality, lightweight, easy to use and pack up. It's stayed in great shape through our dogs and us. Very impressed with it, and the little glow lights add such a cozy touch.

Great product at an affordable price

I purchased the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 Solution Dye tent years ago and have been quite impressed with its performance for the price. The solution dye fabric is not only environmentally friendly but also durable and weather-resistant. The tent is lightweight and easy to set up, making it perfect for backpacking trips. The interior space is roomy enough for two people and the vestibules provide extra storage space for gear. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish it had a bit more ventilation. Overall, a great tent for outdoor adventures!

I got what I wanted

The surprisingly delicate floor withstood being drowned in water and overall protected me much more than I initially expected. Enough space for 2 people, I'm really short, but if you're not planning a party inside, it's good for what it sets out to be - a lightweight 2 person shelter. To all the people that expect a large tent, just look at the weight of this thing. I'm truly satisfied.

I love Big Agnes

I have had Big Agnes tents and sleeping pads for 15 years now. I started with a Copper Spur 2 and now love my Tiger Wall 2. I took the plunge last year and purchased the TW 1. First trip out I had a marmot incident which damaged the tent beyond repair. Big Agnes worked with me to purchase a previously used tent body for a much better prices than purchasing a brand new tent. Really appreciate their customer service.

Good tent - overrated customer service

I bought this tent last year, and went on a month long trip with my folding bike. It's the lightest tent I've ever had, and apart from some minor flaws, its design is pretty clever. However I was quite disappointed to see that the fly ripped easily while tightening it, about halfway through my trip. I was hopeful that customer service would offer some help, but given that I'm a European customer, they offered me to patch it myself. I also reached out to the (outsourced) after sales service in Europe, and they offered the same solution. Given the price tag, I was actually surprised not to be offered a replacement. I had read a lot of good reviews about this brand and its customer service, but this will be my first and last Big Agnes tent.

Great tent for Philmont

I took this tent to Philmont Scout Ranch along with shake down hikes. Have had lots of good luck with no leaks from rain. Light weight so maybe not the best tents for teens.

A palace for 1 person

I've had this tent for 4 years - it's roomy for one person plus gear. Would be pretty cozy for two. I like how the brow pole expands the sides of the tent, giving a lot of headroom. And there's not much out there that's lighter besides trekking pole tents. I use the footprint to protect the floor and am careful with the lightweight fabrics; the tent has held up flawlessly. The only thing I'd change is the position of the vestibule door tiebacks to better secure the doors. I haven't camped above treeline so the semi-freestanding nature is not a problem, but I've heard that you can use a trekking pole to stretch between the stake points to adequately expand the foot end. I haven't yet experienced bad weather in this tent, but figure it will perform as well as the original Copper Spur which weathered a number of mountain storms. (My original Copper Spur is still in use - passed it on to a good friend.) All in all, I think the Tiger Wall is the perfect backpacking tent.

Hiked PCT with This- Great Choice

Hiked over 2200 miles with this tent. It was just enough comfort for me while hiking the PCT to give me a bit of space without killing my weight. Being tired at the end of the day, I couldn't be bothered with the rigging up that non-freestanding tents would take. And if the ground was too tough or it was asphalt, I could tuck my backpack at my feet to support it in a pinch without staking it in. Other more ultra lite tents might weigh less, but they take more effort in a different way. And the 2 person gave me enough room to keep my gear with me inside. I love it, it treated me well, stayed sturdy. A lil bit of condensation at times when I'd wake up in the morning, but since it's a bit more spacious I could keep away from the walls enough not to dampen my sleeping bag.

Great Product and Service

This product has exceeded my expectations on the last 6 trips I have taken it on. The stars are fantastic without the tarp on. With the tarp on the tent stays very comfortable and most importantly DRY. This tent pays for itself beyond the trails in Big Agnes 1st class customer service. I had bent a titanium stake somehow so I reached out. They ultimately sent me a replacement very quickly and got me back on the trail.

Pretty good

Backpacked in the windy Torres Del Paine in Patagonia. Held up well except one of the string broke off. I've had this for about 4 years. Didn't put much use for two of those years. The elasticity in the poles are gone... The fly has to be tightly staked down in order for it not condensate. Will be reaching out to the support for resolution.

Great Tent - Couple Minor Issues

Just returned from a 4 day backpacking trip in the Wind River range using this tent for the first time. It was great. Easiest tent I've ever set up and I am still baffled by how light it is. Got rain, wind and moderate cold (35 F) and I stayed dry and warm. Couple of minor issues that could be improved IMO. First, for some reason I was generally unable to open the vertical/top zipper with one hand. The horizontal zipper pull seemed to work OK with one hand. Not sure what the issue was - tent design or my setup. Second it would be nice if fly zipper aligned with tent door a little more closely. No other issues and certainly nothing to change my 5 star rating. Great job Big Agnes!!

The good vibes tent

Best tent I've used! I've taken this up in the french alps, englands windy coastlines, scotlands midgy infested highlands and it has withstood every type of weather thrown at it. Better yet it is such a good vibes tent. when the sun catches this tent it just glows! I love waking up in the morning to a gorgeous yellow glow throughout the tent. I sometimes wonder if the designer I was influenced by Feng Shui, because the white/orange colour combo creates a very pleasant ambience :) And It feels so spacious given its small weight. (I share this tent with my partner and we are both quite small- 5"7) The only downsides to this tent is that the fly sags in wet weather. Which means it sometimes touches the inner and drips into the tent. And as others have commented, the zip often snags on the fly, making it tricky to exit the tent. Materials also feel fragile. These issues can be resolved by tightening the outer tent with additional stakes and pulling the fly away from the zip as you pull the zip down. It would be great if these problems could be fixed, but I suspect it's an issue linked to the lightweight fabrics. it's simply a sacrifice you make when you go ultralight. I have friends who use Cuban fibre tents like the Samaya, but it comes with an additional 500-700g of weight. Which becomes significant when you're gaining thousands of meters every day (ie. In the alps). Me and my partner separate the poles and tent so that we can distribute the weight between ourselves. And we hardly feel it on our packs. if packing ultra lightweight is your priority but you still want some comfort this tent is for you. Tempted to go for the copper HV next for the luxury of an awning! Love from England to BA, thanks for designing such a delicious tent!

Great UL tent

I've had this tent for 4 seasons and just weathered a huge rainstorm dry. Holds up against pretty good winds. Easy set up. Only complaint on my earlier version is the fly door tie-up is worthless so it's difficult to tie the fly door open but that's about all I can complain about. Been through 2 really nasty rain storms in the wind river range and never had a drop of rain inside. Runs a tad small so it works well as a large 1p and still less than 3lbs

Rain fly woes.

It's a lightweight tent for sure? However, the fly design is not soo good. When the rain fly is on, it's situated on the right side of middle, the door zippers are situated on the left side of middle, so every time you open the rain fly to get in, especially when it's raining, you have to reach way under the fly or semi crawl under the fly to reach the zipper for the door?.that's way on the left. Cumbersome and definitely overlooked in their design??and yes, lots of stakes and the guy lines do not adjust. A bit lame for such a $$$ item

Think about pitching in uneven terrain before you decide.

I was so excited to get this tent after waiting, but ultimately returned it. Pros: lightweight, sturdy, roomy, bright, good ventilation Cons: 1) Requires too many stakes 2) fly rests on mesh at head and foot (unless you add even more stakes and guy lines) 3) Not-adjustable to terrain. This is my main reason for returning. Every stake point has a tiny, 2" loop. There is ZERO adjustability for uneven terrain, rocks or roots in the way, etc? without adding my own paracord. 4) Corners are weird. Again, there's no adjustability like other tents to tighten or loosen the fly since they have fixed length loops and share a stake. If I want to adjust to keep the fly off the mesh, I have to add more cord and another stake. I seriously considered following Andrew Skurkas method of cutting off all loops and fasteners and replacing with own (much more versatile) cord, but I just could t bro g myself to cut on a new, expensive tent.

waterproofing will not last for a thru-hike

I used this on on my thru-hike of the AT in 2021 and the only issue which was that it will not stay waterproof for the entire 4-6 months required for a thru-hike. And I'm sorry to say it was not just mine or this model. I was hiking the trail with 2 others with tiger wall tents one with a 1 person and one with a 2 person like mine and all begin to leak around 2-3 month of use. Don't get me wrong they were being used nearly every night and beside them leaking they are amazing tents that are easy to set up and held up in all other ways. I would recommend for weekend camping not made to with stand longer then 2-3 months of everyday use.

very good tent, some little optimisations possible

This is a very good tent, considering the lightweight it is still very waterproof and rather robust. I was using it multiple hundred nights on my bicycle trip through Europe and Asia. However, there were a few things that broke rather quickly, e.g both zippers of the fly after only a few months of use. Some of the teeth were damaged and the zipper kept opening from the middle, making the tent non-waterproof. Only by luck, I found a local seamstress who could attach a new zipper to the fly, which was a risky undertaking due to the delicate nature of the fly material. The packing bags broke after a while because the folded poles stabbed through. It would also be beneficial if they were waterproof, when you pack it in your bag when it's wet, it will inevitably leak through the packing bag and make the rest of the equipment wet. In strong winds, it is important to set up the tent with the head against the wind. If the wind hits from the sides or the bottom, the poles cannot withstand the force and the roof will be pushed inward. For this reason, the next time I will buy a tent with poles that connect all four corners of the tent.

Yes with modifications

Love the ease of setup of this tent when I'm out backpacking in the uk. Mainly used along coastal trails where the wind can be an issue with stability. Looking to make modifications as I've found the fixed guys do not work well in keeping tension to the flys, Need to use extra pegs to keep the outer fly from touching the mesh inner especially when it's wet. Also even when keeping the tent doors vented I've had issues with condensation on every use. Great space inside the tent for one and all my gear, like that I can roll the fly back and star gaze on a clear night, tons of storage space and really useful gear loft. Definitely glad I purchased the footprint so I can setup outer fly first on rainy days or used as a quick shelter.
