Brought to the Winds for a week and the tent performed well. Light, easy set up. The double zippered door is a bit difficult to unzip. The zippers do not have a smooth ride. They have a bit of friction and so when pulling, the tent tends to bow with the pull making the process difficult. Overall, the tent is a great success in my opinion. I used to have the UL version of the Tiger wall and loved it so I continued on with the Platinum and have been very happy. I've continued to use the tent on many outings since and it's doing well.

This is arguably one of the best two person tents for a thru hiking couple. You can split the body, fly, poles and stakes between 2 hikes, giving it a lighter trail weight than any 2 person DCF single wall. We used this tent on the PCT and AT. It handles condensation, rain and snow way better than a single wall. The perfect pitch takes practice with any UL tent, but it can be set up in the rain at night in under 2 minutes once you do it enough. Site selection is everything (see Andrew Skurka's 5 stark campsite video from 2017). I recommend sliding barrel knots in place of plastic tensioners. I ditched the stuff sack and pack it loose at the top of my pack. The poles, I keep in plastic packaging that it ships in that are meant to be thrown away rather than the actual bag thats supposed to be used. I opted for MSR groundhog minis and titanium shepherd hook stakes to save a little weight. It is a bit snug for two people, but can absolutely be done comfortably. We both used Neo air xlight pads and kept our packs under the vestibules. I'm 5'10" and she is 5'4". I am a weight obsessed, gear nerd who has spent too much time on trail and I really think this one of the best tent options for minimalist ultralight backpacking couples. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Our goal in buying this tent was to reduce weight. We have a 10 year old Copper Spur UL3 that we love but it was over 5 lbs - this one is just over 2. And you can feel the difference! We used it recently and it rained overnight providing a good test. Pros: - Light - Beautifully made. - Sufficient room inside for 2 with room in the vestibules for 2 packs Cons: - Not totally free standing. Needs stakes at the foot to pull out the corners. - Requires careful staking of the rainfly to get it rainproof. - The zippers jam if you are not careful. But this goes for any ultra light tent it seems.

This tent withstood constant 20 mph winds at 10,000 feet elevation with gusts over 50 mph for a full week. I was originally skeptical of the tents durability due to the light weight material and design, but It held its ground and sprung back to form in the relentless wind. Amazing shelter for the weight!

Thought about it and it deserves 5 stars not 4

I love Big Agnes products but this tent has some big downsides. The most significant is that the translucent, light colored fly acts as a "parabolic concave mirror" for the sun. I was up at 11,000 ft. in the Sierras a few weeks ago and in even low summer sun the effect inside the tent was extraordinary! It felt like the sun was actually burning my skin. And no I am not sensitive to heat. It was like a magnifying glass effect from the orb of the sun. Very uncomfortable. The other thing I noticed too was the tent is much more "squeaky" and noisy than my Copper Spur 2. The material is thinner and more 'plastic-like' so in the slightest wind it tends to make a noise. Those things aside the tent is OK though very much doubt the three-poles design will stand up to high winds very well. As a P.S. I really, really, really like my Copper Spur 2 and wish it were a pound lighter. Sigh! Oh, as a suggestion to Big Agnes - make a new fly for this tent in darker less translucent material and offer it for sale! MM - CA

More head space than my fly creek plat 2 and the double vestibule is a big improvement. Still tight /cozy with 2 adults but super functional and super lightweight. Packs down smaller than my 1person dyneema shelters too!

I love how lightweight this tent is for a 2-person. It works really well as a lightweight solo tent as well. You'd be hard pressed to find a 2-door, 2-person double wall tent with this much space for under 2lb (except the carbon version, but that's too flimsy and expensive). It's held up well so far for one season of backpacking around the Pacific Northwest, including in granite-covered areas like the Enchantments. I bought it because it was by far the lightest double wall 2-person tent, and bonus points that it has 2 doors, 2 large vestibules, and a fair amount of space inside. Unheard of! Love it.

My bf and I managed to get this tent for a steal at an REI garage sale years ago. I love it. It held up against the 60mph winds when we went beach camping during Tropical Storm Elsa. The rain cover def creates a bit of condensation, but that's nothing compared to sleeping in a soaked tent. Without the rain cover, you get an amazing view of the sky/stars as you fall asleep

Working for BA I get try out and use a lot of tents and this is a favorite for bikepacking. Unless i'm using one of our bikepack specific tents. For a two person tent this is great for one bigger guy like myself when trying to keep the weight down. I loved this one so much that I own one i'm not just demoing. Well played team.

Compact in size, lightweight, roomy floor plan for one person and gear. And I have a lot of hunting gear. Great head height (if you are not super tall). Two people fit great too, but the gears gotta go outside the tent.

I love the low weight and ease of setup. I carried and used it first in September 2019 on a ten day hike of the Mt Rainier Wonderland trail; 93 miles, 23k elevation gain and loss. Camping sites are designated, require a permit and one is expected to use the site specified each night. The pads of the sites are generally in great shape. The foot print developed a hole on day 2, cured with name brand tape, and the tent netting toreas I zipped it closed out of tape, used a bandaid and it worked. I just (8/30/20) finished 21 miles of the same trail. While closing the fly in anticipation of rain, finger pressure on the fabrice while guiding the zipper was enough to put a hole in the fabric. In sum, great concept, likely not really field tested, and it won't remain really super light if I have to keep patching.

Love how light the tent is! Fits two big agnes 20" wide sleeping pads perfectly. Only minor issue is that one of the vestibule zippers gets stuck pretty regularly.

I rain all night long and it was hard and the tent didn't lick we where at Cumberland Island National Sea Shore in March!

In spite of the Big Agnes marketing claims, this is not a free standing tent. It is a semi free standing tent.

Used this for several trips this past summer. Super light, super compact, and the color is pretty cool. Works awesome in the wind and rain (make sure the guy lines are nice and tight), and has plenty of room for myself, my lady, and our 50lb dog. Just be careful where you set up your tent and take good care of it and it will last a lifetime.

Can't believe how small this tent packs and how light it is. By far the lightest, smallest packing tent I have ever seen. The double door design is also a great feature making it possible to enter or exit the tent without crawling over your partner. The vestibules at both doors allow for lots of additional covered storage space.

Trying to lighten the load and get more miles in while having a dependable and hight quality shelter, The Tiger wall 2 Platinum is for you. Just Finished a 42 mile backcountry backpack in west PA with this amazing tent. Light wieght and easy to setup. Quality is exceptional as with all Big Agnes tents. Did great with overnight rain and dried quickly for an easy morning pack-up.

Since purchase, I have had the Tiger Wall 2 Platinum out in the back-county in search of cutthroat in July and Bull Elk in September, both were successful. I absolutely love how light weight this free standing tent is! Great for those looking to shed weight and still have plenty of room and vestibule space! My only complaint is the durability of the tent but that comes with the territory of an ultralight tent. Overall a wonderful back-county tent that I look forward to spending more time in!

This tent has exceeded my expectations in cold, windy, and dry conditions. The inside space is great for one person and a bit cramped for two, but we did our research and knew exactly what we were getting in to.

Use backpacking on moderate to tough hikes. Tent is good for two smaller frame people who want to go light. Except it was sent missing three tent pegs for setting up the secure lines for wind and rain. Unacceptable for the price of the tent to not include the necessary number of tent pegs.

I've been using Copper Spur and Fly Creek tents for years and purchased the Tiger Wall Platinum 2 for my upcoming Wonderland Trail trip. I'm having trouble guying out fly so it is taunt and searches for set up videos and step by step written instructions are epic fails. The ones sewn into the stuff sack are vague. Thinking I might suffer the weight penalty and go back to my Copper Spur.

I work for the airlines so I am blessed that I can go backpacking anywhere in the world. Weight is very important when bringing gear on the plane, this was right up my ally. I had to test this out in my yard first. It took 5 mins to set the whole thing up. The material is ultralight weight, breathable even with the rainfly on and very good quality. You do have to be real careful with anything sharp, but I guess that with any type of tent. The overall design of it is made for ultralight weight conscious backpackers. You can tell this was designed by people who have/had experience in the field. Yeah it's a bit pricey but after going through quite a few other tents with less quality, less money and more weight, it was costing more in the long run. I highly recommend a footprint of some kind, It is a must! I purchased the BA footprint with the tent because it has the color coded clips for the rainfly so you have the option to setup shelter without the tent. Looking at it all setup it stands out you know it's a BA. I didn't think I would fit in it standing outside looking at it but when you get inside there is plenty of room. I am 6'2" 240 Lbs . I can easily fit my Sleeping Bag, Sleeping pad and my Osprey 60L Aether AG and still have plenty of room and be comfortable. The doorways are designed to get in and out of the tent easily without crawling on the ground.

The Tiger Wall 2 Platinum was awesome in every way for a backpacking trip through canyonlands. There was a lot of wind and light rain; the tent is unbelievably quick to setup (even in the wind) and could easily be secured with stakes/rocks depending on the ground composition. I slept in it alone but had ample room for all my gear as well as shoes in separate areas. Harsh winds only resulted in very mild buffeting of the tent material and it was very calm inside. Zero condensation inside. Packup is a breeze and the tent very easily fits in the supplied sack even with an added ground sheet. Would recommend to anyone- excellent materials and very well made!!

I had the opportunity to carry and use this tent on two late season adventures and my early skepticism was blow away by the reality of this tent. When I first investigated the tent when packing, I was nervous that it was so lightweight that I assumed it would be fragile. But after more than 30 miles of backcountry adventuring, I was wrong. I used this tent solo so I had tons of room. The vestibule was perfectly sized for one pack, but with two doors, this 2-person tent has two vestibules! I would recommend sharing the tent with someone you are friendly with, but its design makes amazing use of space for such a light tent. And is it light! Vapor light. Crazy light. It makes carrying any normal tent, maddening. I love the pockets, the excellent poles and color coded system, and properly sized stuff sacks. No finger killing wrestling match that ends in futile attempts to put your tent away in the bag it cane with. Do yourself a favor and get a MtnGlow light to go with the tent. They are amazing. My only complaint is how the doors on the fly get tied open. I never could figure it out. The loops and ties seem to be in the wrong location making it difficult to secure the door. Maybe I'm just dumb.
