I love how it gives you the stand up room and I like how the door opens and closes vs the other ones. What I don't like is the fact that you took away the side pockets which I used all the time. I will have to find something to use as a "pocket".

It's big and heavy. I own a UL Nemo tent for backpacking and a Marmot 3P for car camping. My wife doesn't particularly like tent camping. She'd prefer to stay in cabins. Not wanting to fork out $1k every time I go camping I promised her I'd get a tent that she could walk into standing up. Our happy compromise. Here we are, I chose the Big House 6P for our family of three. Coming in over 20lbs (with the vestibule), the thing has been nicknamed "Goliath." Some pros are the carrying bag has straps to wear the bag like a backpack, in the event you have a short hike to your campsite. It is difficult to setup with just one person, but doable. My huge CON that almost had me return it is there are NO POCKETS near the floor of the tent. I couldn't believe it. It advertised having 8 mesh pockets when I bought it. The tag attached to the carrying bag confirmed this. There are 4 (not 8) mesh pockets up where the wall meets the mesh roof. This is about 5 feet off the ground. If you're laying down on a 4-inch mattress and want to secure your phone for the night you'll need to standup to put it in the pockets. I am sure Big Agnes did this to try and generate extra accessory sales for the separately sold gear lofts. I just want to Big Agnes to know that out of spite, I purchased a gear loft from one of your competitors to solve your engineering failure. Put some pockets down by the base of the tent and quit being so greedy.

Absolutely great car camping tent. We bought big hous 6 about 14 years ago and used it many many times. Everything still works, no repairs required and sill good in rain and storms. A great feature is, you can set it up and us it with no pegs, which is very helpful in some situations. Just finished a short trip on cape cod, never used a peg, two days of rain. If it is in a storm you can set pegs on the fly tarp and it does great. This is not stable enough or compact enough for real backpacking, for that we have other tents, but for a family of four with a Bernese mountain dog, doing car camping, it has been very reliable, easy and durable.

Loving this tent so far! We used this during a recent 5 day camping trip. The design is great, setup is easy, and we left the rain fly off so we could see the stars. We love that we are able to stand up easily inside (5'6" and 6'1") which makes those middle of the night bathroom breaks much easier. Our bed hog of a dog had plenty of room to spread out in this tent, so we were all able to sleep well without feeling cramped! Can't wait to take this tent out on more adventures.

I was impressed by the quality and thought that went into 90% of the tent. Colored poles, clips and corners make it super easy to set up. The garage that you can use or not use was an upgrade from my north face wawona that was completely integrated into the fly. It did fine in storms and days of rain. Great tent except the door. I never expected a 2 zipper door to be on a tent of this caliber and price so I didn't think to check. If you are new to camping the 2 zipper is a pain for a few reasons but the worst is having to make sure both zippers are toughing. If you don't bugs easily get in as that intersection is right at the ground. Good luck getting kids or anyone not super anal about this to do it in the middle of the night after going out to the bathroom. My marmots, northface and even my eureka have the now standard continuous zipper. This is a major pain that shouldn't have been and every time I go in and out it bugs me. I purchased this tent 2 years ago, i have a trip coming up I'll be using it on and my first thought was that freaking mis on the door. Out of curiosity I wondered if they changed it by now, they haven't. Same design? I am shocked they haven't fixed it by now.

Since I purchased the tent, I've been out twice on long weekends with it. With my wife & I, It's a palace. Due to our age, We have 2 cots with air mattresses & still plenty of room. However, the main front door is an issue. I wish it was a one half circle zipper type instead of a 2 separate zipper door. Its such a hassle to unzip 2 zippers. However, With that issue, My wife refuses to bring it back for a different tent. We love the simple set up & the take down. We also love the backpack storage bag!

It is simple, roomy, and bombproof. The BH6 has been a great piece of equipment for basecamp. We have had so many fun adventures and rain or shine this thing is awesome.

We upgraded to the Big House 6 after having such a great experience with the Big House 4 but wanting a little more space. Another brand wasn't even a question with how well our BA tent held up and the great customer service we got. Our 4 withstood some crazy weather and we hoped the 6 would do the same. We are not disappointed. It has lasted through insane wind in ND (about 60-70mph according to the NWS) which blew in the side of the tent and it straightened right back up after the wind stopped. We had neighbors that lost their tents and a few who either lost their camper awnings completely, or their supports bent. It's also survived some freak snow storms and even small hail in CO. The vestibule is fantastic for extra storage space or using for small chairs and a table during bad weather. It holds our giant dog kennel so they're also protected from the elements on our trips. We recommend BA to everyone because of the experiences we've had with their equipment.

Family camping tent that is big enough for four of us, the dog and the gear.

After many years of using the Big House 4 we upgraded to the Big House 6 and couldn't be more pleased. Plenty of room for a family of 4 plus gear allows us step up a comfortable trip. We have used the tent now on several trips and recently added the vestibule that allows for the kiddos to sit in the shade or store bikes.

Three-season, freestanding, base/car camping tent
The Big House 6 is a big deal for car campers and the perfect sized shelter for housing the whole family under one f±rooff. Big enough for rainy afternoon card games under cover or for road trippinf mountain bikers who prefer to stand up in their shelter while changing.
The optional Accessory Vestibule can convert this roomy tent from a simple structure to a cavernous escape from the sun or an unexpected change in weather. Shelter Mode lets you pitch it as a covered shelter without the tent body, and the backpack-style carry bag makes lugging gear from the car to the campsite more convenient than ever.
