Great small family tent

Great tent for family of 4. I won't put 4 adults in it The zipper of the rain fly could be place on the side instead of the middle for easier reach to open and close the tent

Held up in a long heavy storm

Used this tent on a 5 day backpacking trip to Wyoming in Medicine Bow National Forest in early August. Rained a few times and had zero issues. Also, used this tent last weekend and it stayed watertight during 6 hours of continuous heavy rain. A few inches of water started running under the tent as the night went on with not a drop inside the tent. I had it pitched pretty tight and when the wind picked up the tent stayed solid as a rock. I didn't even use the extra guy lines. It is hard to close the vestibule zipper from within the tent when it gets near the farthest point but that a minor inconvenience. I also purchased the footprint to protect the tent floor.

great value for a rough windy night

I just took this on a hike to Santa Maria Volcano. We got to the summit late after dusk and setup was pretty easy even in low light and a strong wind. It did a great job keeping the wind at bay all night. It's definitely heavy for that kind of hike but it kept us comfy at a high altitude.

The Blacktail 4, 4 person tent is light enough for the backcountry, and strong enough for the front country. A tried and true shelter with excellent value for backpackers who want a super comfortable tent after a long day on the trail. The Blacktail 4 tent offers spacious sleeping areas with easy access through two, side-entry doors and vestibules, making early morning entry and exit with a tent-mate more stealth when nature calls.

Construction + Materials
• Fly and floor are polyester

• Fly and floor have 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating

• Tent body is polyester breathable and polyester mesh

• All seams taped with waterproof polyurethane tape

• Lightweight aluminum pole system with prebends

• Plastic clips attach tent body to pole frame

• 6 interior mesh pockets, 4 media pockets & 8 lightweight aluminum hook stakes
