Big Agnes C Bar 3-Person Tent

This is the best tent I've ever encountered. It is so thoughtfully designed. Setup/takedown is SO EASY and quick thanks to the unique single collapsing stick-person tent pole and color coding, and everything fits in the sack without struggle. I love the storage pockets and add-ons available. This has easily accomodated 2 people plus a kid or dog. I use a double-wide inflatable and there's room to spare around the edges. It has never leaked. The footprint (sold separately) works well to keep it try and protect the floor. My ex had this tent, though we each generally use the Eno Junglenest hammock instead. I always bring this along when car camping in case the weather turns or if we have friends/kids/dogs along. I actually took custody of this tent as breakup tax and was devastated when they realized I had it and asked for it back XD I immediately bought my own because it's just SO GOOD AND PERFECT.

This tent is the perfect mix of comfort and space. My husband and I fit comfortably with our gear and it packs up well into a pack pack (it was the height of my 45L deuter). It sets up easily and was sturdy and warm. The footprint was a must have purchase as it allowed us to set the rain fly up for shade coverage when we first got to camp without dealing with the added heat of the full tent. I could see us using only the fly and footprint for when there isn't a chance of cold temps overnight. It did fit my husband, myself, a cattle dog, and an Aussie but it was snug. Without the pups it was very comfortable spacing.

We just purchased a bunch of the "C Bar 3" tents and we are very happy with them. We took them to Thailand (from Florida) and hosted two tent-camping events with Thai youth. The first event was a 3-day, 2-night event with 30 Thai Highschoolers. The second was an overnighter with young Thai leaders. The first thing we noticed was that even highschoolers were able to put the tents together easily without any direction. As an avid tent camper, I love the single-pole design more-and-more. This single-pole design (looks like this: >--|--< ) went a long way towards making setup a breeze. For us the price point was a great trade off for a quality-tent that was light weight. Sure, there are lighter tents out there, but at the price point, the C Bar 3 (a the 4lb weight range) gives us a lot of options for "Car Camping" and opens the door for us to use the same tents for things like multi-day backpacking events. In just 2 months, we are taking highschools and Fathers out to the rugged and remote Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge in FL. These C Bar 3's will serve us well there again. I was a bit bummed that the C Bar 3's did not come with Big Agnes's nicer "Dirt Dagger" stakes. They are probably the best tent stakes on the market (the reflective lanyard at the end is dope!). But again, with the price point, I am ok with that. They did come with thicker "standard-type" aluminum stakes (which are better than normal - thanks "Big A") There is so much to love. Here are a few: The built in loft and additional stash points inside | reflective corners and guyline | solid rain fly (It rains a lot in FL and Thailand) | super easy set-up and tear down | carry bag is slightly oversized (so you don't have to pray to get your tent back into the bag) | great weight | the list could go on. Thanks Big Agnes for the great time in the outdoors!
