Another great product from Big Agnes. I ordered this as a replacement and can't be more happy with the customer service and pack size and comfort of the new sleeping pad. Complements my other pad and packs down smaller.

Big Agnes is awesome. My old entry level ultralight ground mattress had a lifetime warranty (who knew?!), so I applied the cost and upgraded to this mattress and it is equally awesome. First off, my old mattress had to be blown up by mouth, (specifically 24 big breaths), but this one has the inflator that works off Bernoulli's Principle, so you blow into the bag with a quick breath, the bag fills up with lots of air, then you use the inflator like a pastry bag. It's so nice not to hyperventilate before bed. The raised edges keep my broad shoulders on the mattress. Its so worth the increased cost over their entry level ultralights. You will not be disappointed. Now off to Philmont!

I tried a few different sleeping pads around the beginning of my AT thru-hike, but eventually settled on the Rapide. I slept on this thing every night for nearly 200 days straight, and its just as comfortable as my bed at home. I ended up needing to get another around 1900 miles in due to a leak I couldn't find, but I would consider that standard wear-and-tear given I was using it every day for 4-5 months. I ended up reaching out to Big Agnes and they even warrantied it. I've heard nothing but good things about Big Agnes' customer service from other thru-hikers on trail.

I have to hand it to you Big Agnes. This pad is a game changer! Most comfortable sleep I've ever had in a tiny tent was because of this pad. Used it last night to test, didn't want to get up.

This pad replaced one I had bought just before COVID hit and had only used a couple of times before the seam at the valve began to leak. First of all, Big Agnes was a pleasure to deal with, replacing the defective mattress with no hassle and a very simple process. Second, the new pad it's quiet (which was a problem with the old one). The inflator is also a great solution... fast and not breathless. The pass is heavy for backpacking but it's an excellent car camping solution.

I just returned from camping with my new Big Agnes Rapide SL Insulated Sleeping Pad during a recent paddle & portage trip. It was comfortable and provided a layer of warmth in the midst of a couple of cold nights (The first being in the mid 30's). I like how easy it is to inflate and then compress back into the little stuff sack that is provided. Thanks again...the research that led me to your brand was well worth the time!

This is one of the most popular pads on the market, so reviews and YouTube videos are plentiful. I won't belabor the review here except to say that I agree with most of what those reviews say: (1) it's comfortable and I sleep well on this pad, (2) it's warm and I've had it out in cool weather (low 40s) without issue, (3) it's packable with a reasonable weight and volume (though, smaller and lighter options exist), and (4) it's spacious in the 25x78 size with plenty of thickness and the elevated sides to keep you planted. I'm a side sleeper and I have PLENTY of support. Another user posted two pics of this pad mated with a BA Anvil Horn sleeping bag. This is also what I use ... a 30 degree, long Anvil Horn. It's the best sleep I've had on the trail (you can read my Anvil Horn review elsewhere). Also, this mat was redesigned for the 2024 calendar year. While I cannot compare to the earlier versions, I can say that the current version of this pad sleeps quietly. It's a tad noisy when unfurling it, but I hear zero noise when inflated ... and I move a lot. So, whatever BA did when it changed the insulation, it kept the noise to a minimum. For my use as a more casual, recreational hiker (read: sub 10-mile hikes), this pad is perfect. If I were thru hiking the PCT, e.g., maybe I'm shaving every ounce I can and opt for a lighter weight pad.

I used this for the first time last weekend with a Michigan upper peninsula backpacking trip. It is quiet and probably the most comfortable pad I have ever used. I was in a 4 season tent, 20 degree bag, low temperatures in the 20s and 30s. I feel it is difficult to judge how well it does in colder temperatures. I did get a little cold one night but adding another layer did the trick....so I am hopeful that is insulated enough to provide warmth in these temps.

This is not ultra light or super duper compact, but to me the weight and the good sleep is SO WORTH IT! I originally got the 20"x72" but quickly realized my arms fall off the sides and that would really bother me. I ordered the 25" and have been very happy with it! I used it while bike packing for 4 weeks and it has held up really well. I'm excited for many more adventures with this sleeping pad!

This pad is so thick and comfy it feels like a full air mattress. The fact that it comes extra long for tall folks makes it so much better. I love the inflating bag tool so that I don't need to blow it up with hot air.

I packed as a minimalist when I hiked from Harper's Ferry to Katahdin on the AT last year, with a base weight just under 10 lbs. My cushy, comfortable Rapide air mattress was a "luxury item". Why? Because sleep is critical, and if I don't get a good nights sleep, then what's the point? I was very happy to have this air mattress. I did not mind blowing it up with my lungs. I have noticed, however, that many hikers carry compact, battery-powered pumps with them!

I paired this sleeping pad with the Daisy Mae sleeping bag, and it definitely added to the experience of comfort and warmth! You can really feel the insulation of this sleeping pad. For as much as it inflates in thickness, it also folds down and packs pretty small. It took a couple tries of using the inflating bag to get used to, but overall it isn't difficult to use. Although I did find condensation inside when I was deflating it, so I need to figure out how to let it dry out during storage.

After trying a bunch of other pads, always looking for that 'Goldilocks' one that's "just right", I think the Big Agnes Rapide SL may be the winner. Really comfortable, warm, and (especially in comparison to some others) very quiet! This will be my first choice to go into my pack for all future 3-season trips!

I use this for backpacking, climbing trips, and bike packing. Love the comfort and ease to inflate/deflate. It may not be the smallest, but I'll gladly carry it for a great night sleep! I've taken it on winter adventures on snow, but always paired with a z-lite foam pad for a little extra R-value. Carried Big Agnes pads for past 10+ years. Great warranty too!

I am 6ft 260 with a bad back. This pad has saved my life. I have taken it to Mexico, Thailand, and work. I use it as a pad under the sheets at hotels. I can usually sleep 1 to 2 nights in a bad without it severely bothering my back. Since this purchase I have gone a week in Mexico and 3 weeks in Thailand with one back problem. It packs super easy and is light weight as well. I will be buying a spare for myself and one for the wife. If you have a bad back you need this Pad. #sweepstakes

I am 6' 3" tall and weigh 340lbs. This pad is great even for a large guy like me. I slept comfortably on it even on my stomach/side. I was amazed at how much cushion was here for a pad that is light weight for me to take backpacking.

So far so good! Was able to get a solid two hour nap on it the other day to test out the comfort level. Lemme tell you, it did not disappoint !! Coming comfy ! With a R value of 4.8 I don't see this having any issues keeping me warm with my entire sleep system. Look forward to backpacking this summer/fall with it!

I just received this sleeping pad and have been trying it out at home. My initial impressions are that - It is comfortable. Much more so than my (lighter) Nemo Tensor. As much as I like the tensor, I wasn't sleeping well at camp, so need a beefier pad. - It is very quiet - not noisy at all. I cant stand noisy pads. - The baffles on the sides - WINNER. The baffles are great for back sleeping, a comfortable place fo my elbows. On the side (and on the back), it defines the pad and cradles you in, so there is never the thought of where the edges are or of rolling off. - Valve system very accessible and easy to use. Plus there is Big Agnes WONDERFUL Customer Service - I have had a BA Copper Spur ULV4 that we are on our 4th season on. Fantastic tent, has held up well - tiny bit of wear and tear after 3 full seasons - and Big Agnes Customer Service to the rescue - post haste. I am a loyal customer. Can't wait to try it out in backcountry next week. Thanks BA!
