So far so good. I've done a few backcountry trips since receiving the pack. The weight is well balanced and the shoulder straps that pull the weight up off your shoulders directly is very nice. I think it may be a bit big (volume wise) for what I need actually, but it condenses just fine. I'd buy it again. The shoulder straps are nice and firm and well shaped, which I appreciate and in contrast to some of the other reviews.

I just returned from a 30 mi. Hike on the AT in VA. And got to say the Parkview 63 worked out pretty well for me 6'2" 240lbs. I would recommend this pack for big body individuals it has multiple adjustments to comfortably fit!

I like this backpack overall, but I love the way it looks. For me, it is a perfect hybrid between ultralight packs and traditional internal frames. With less padding and wimpier buckles, it feels delicate, but it can handle 50 lbs on a 'luxury' weekend trip. It's definitely more comfortable with less weight and when dialing in the Hoist Compression system. My only issue is the straps on the head side of the brain are not long enough to take advantage of the extra capacity. In fact, I would happily pay for some extenders. I think this pack is excellent for this price point. #sweepstakes

As I prepare for El Torro, I wanted to share my personal review of the Big Agnes Parkview 63. In the past 30 days, I have logged just over 100 miles with this backpack ... mostly through the Ocala National Forest area. Overall, the backpack is a huge improvement over my other packs. The purpose of my new backpack, more importantly, was to reduce trail weight and transition from the typical hikes I do: mountaineering with 50 lbs+ loads. At the moment, I've been training with a new load of 25 lbs (see my previous post of all my new gear) although for El Torro I will be carrying 20 lbs, including three days of food and water. Pros: lightweight, plenty of storage pockets, injection molded frame fits perfectly against my back, great hip support, dual hip belt stabilizer straps and fits my 32 oz water bladder. Cons: No bottom load/unload zipper for sleeping bag, useless trash bag included. Overall, I give the bag a rating of 8.5 (out of 10).

I just finished walking 100 miles across the Scottish highlands and this pack was comfortable and robust and gave me the confidence I needed when scrambling across rocks that it wasn't going to fall apart. Only gripe is how difficult it is to grab a water bottle from the side pockets when wearing it. Other than that, top notch.

First big pack! Have all ready put 50 plus miles on the Parkveiw, fully loaded for backcountry camping. The fit is super comfortable, makes the weight (20lbs average) feel nonexistant!

When I first put the pack on, I had doubts; at about 20 miles of cumulative hiking, it picked up a "squeak." That has gone away, and now that it's fully broken in, I love the pack. My only negative is top-only access to the pack. It's a great backpacking pack.

Superb design. It's almost like true backpackers designed this pack :) And it weighs exactly what was stated on your website--a novel concept. You guys make the best stuff. I have a Big Agnes tent, sleeping bag, and pack now. I'm ready to roll!!!

This pack is light is though, the suspension is the best I ever tried and I own several other brands this one takes number 1, The water port is easy to access and easy to put your Hose through the pockets on the sides for your snacks are very nice and big the rings to hold the excess webbing around your waist is very thoughtful, keeps them from flapping Around the material used for this pack is very durable I'm taking it on several trips already and I liked it so much I bought a second one for my 72 hour rescue pack great product I will recommend this to a new experience or non-experience backpacker.

Every February, usually around Super Bowl weekend, a group of my friends plan a winter backpacking trip. At first, I told them they were really stupid for sleeping outside in single digit temperatures. I laughed at them. But, after a few years, I decided to join them. Now, three years later, I can say with certainty that sleeping outside in single digit temperatures is not only stupid, and dangerous, but really fun too. Something else I learned is that you need a much bigger pack than you would in warmer temperatures. And a ton of down insulation too. That's where the Parkview 63 comes in handy. It's big enough for the bulk needed on winter trips, but cinches down for the lighter, warmer weather trips too. Another feature worth mentioning is how comfortable the frame is (at 5'9" the medium is great fit). There was no break in period. The Parkview is ready to go right out of the box. In short, I would definitely recommend the Parkview 63 to a friend. Especially if they're into really stupid and dangerous winter backpacking trips. Like me.

Purchased this pack for a hut trip and am already looking forward to using it again. Very comfortable even when fully loaded. All straps line up with anatomy perfectly and distribute pressure evenly. Plus this puppy is spacious, I had room for everything I needed and then some. Really stoked!

I waited months for this pack to come out, and after a couple trips I Love love love this pack. This thing is really comfortable. I'm 6'4" 245lbs and the amount of adjustability really makes it that much more versatile. From week long backpacking to day hikes or weekend trips it really does it all. I've had several packs multi and day use, since I've been using this pack I can't go back to switching packs?..it's too comfortable! The removable hip pouches amazes me too, especially from coming from an osprey rook that you couldn't fit anything in the hip pouches. The BA Parkview can fit just about anything that you'll need, including a phone and a spotx gps. If I could split hairs the only negative I have is the side pouches/stuff pockets. I've already got holes in it from rubbing on rocks while getting in some tight trails.

I just purchased this bag in time for a mountaineering trip up Mt John Clark. First thoughts.. Liteweight, build quality is nice with lots of innovative features. During the first trip I noticed some issues, which are as follows. Top removable lid does not cover the 10L spindrift expansion when full, the rear adjustments above the shoulder strap are only a couple of inches long, where as the photo of the bag shows them to be much longer, which is needed if you want the adjustment when the bag is full. Gear loops at the bottom are much too small. Fitting an Ice Axe through the loop puts significant strain on the stitching and could cause premature wear, and only just fits trekking poles with no room to spare. The bungee cord loops are quite unique and function well but I found they have a tendency to slacken off. Buckles, this is the most frustrating part. The buckles used on this bag are very lightweight, but have a tendency to come undone quite frequently. The main waist buckle was coming undone constantly, everytime I bent over or leaned forward the unprotected buckle would disengage. This was extremely difficult to manage while carry 50Lbs of gear on your back. Having to re adjust the bag constantly every time it came undone. I even had the smaller hip belt stabilizer buckles come undone several times. Expandable side pockets. These are quite stretchy, but the double hemm at the top with hardly any stretch makes it difficult to load the side pouches if the bag is full, it takes some force to even get a nalgene bottle in through the top.. The stretchy material is so delicate that both pockets have been quite torn on the first trip. They should be much more durable. Aside from these things I do enjoy the bag. It is extremely comfortable with great adjustability. The injection molded back frame adds a lot of stiffness to the bag. Hip pockets have a lot of storage and the trash can is an added bonus. Overall I would recommend this bag. That being said I think BA needs to address these issues I mentioned above, if they were fixed I think this would be a 5 Star bag.

I used this on a recent CO trail trip. I was a bit unsure about the molded frame and not having the air flow that other popular brands have. However, the molded plastic was a lot cooler than my previous high quality pack. This pack fit like a glove with all the micro adjustments and was super comfortable throughout the trip. I loved all the little features- zips, access and waterproof zipper up top. The trash can is a great idea and was perfect for granola wrappers and trash we found along the way.
