I like the tarp as a whole, the pole is different. No complaints about the fabric and I like the integrated tie out line/buckle. The pole detect is difficult to depress when loaded, and it is small enough that it is difficult to line up while adjusting. Also the pole bent while I was tightening the tie out. You can actually bend the pole while pulling slack out of the tarp and it turned out to not be that difficult.

The tarp was easy to set up, and the adjustable stake loops made little adjustments much easier to do than pulling the stake and repositioning! I paired this with the footprint as well and it worked great. I'm 6'5", 220, and shared the space with a 6'8" and a 6'3" brother-in-law, it was a bit tight, but we had room for some personal gear inside, and we left our packs outside. I've used several different types of shock cord aluminum pole tents on backpacking trips, some low end to middle-of-the-road tents, no high-end tents, l'm too broke! I have experience with this type of tent design, and setup was pretty straightforward. The material is thin and very light, a slight breeze would blow the footprint around when not staked down. The fabric seems durable, I didn't see any stretching at the seams on the tarp when all set up. Since we were only using the tarp I sprayed permethrin around the perimeter of the tarp body and footprint to try to keep mosquitos and ticks out. I hope to but the mesh inner in the near future. Only having the tarp a week or two, I've had limited use with it but it did stand tall to 60mph winds and sideways rain when a massive shelf cloud brought a strong storm, bone dry inside. I have both the UL3 and UL5 tarps but only the UL3 mesh and footprint which works great for my trikepacking trips!

This is a pretty basic tarp. It is lightweight and seems durable. I bought this along with the mesh insert. Set up was easy. It is a little on the small side for a 5P tent. It would fit three comfortably, four if you don't have a personal bubble, and 5 if everyone is 4'5" and 75 lbs. Other than the size being small, this tent is exactly as advertised. I am conTENT (see what I did there?) with this product.
