Great lightweight, high quality, self standing tent but expensive. I had a CS 2 that had failed and BA was gracious enough to give me a crediit for the retail value. I used that credit to help with this purchase. I would not have paid retail for this tent without that credit. Lots of other much lower cost options out there that maybe not as quality and lacking customer service but will do.

After two backpacking trips including a total of 10 nights in this tent it performed above expectations all around. Some comments say it collapses in the wind. It does bend quite a lot in HIGH wind but secure the tent as it is supposed to be staked and guyed out and it will hold up to serious wind. Comfortable for 2 people cramped with 3. At around 4 pounds this tent is lighter than my previous 2 person tent but has nearly double the floor space plus the loft netting which is the bomb for storing all kinds of stuff. Buy one it is spectacular!

Just got back from the maiden voyage in Glacier National Park with the tent. It performed flawless. handled the rain and the wind. This tent has exceeded all expectations. It is easy to set up and looks good. The interior pockets were a really great surprise. It is so lightweight. The tent pegs are brilliant. Nothing but good things!!!

Just took new tent on a 3 day trip to Colorado; tent is light and all the gear pockets inside are super handy! Ran into heavy wind (sustained 40-50mph) that made for a sleepless night. Had all guy lines staked out, poles velcro-ed to the rainfly and even had two guys lines for each attachment point for extra stability, but the tent still flattened over about half the tent. Seems like an improvement would be to move the guy line attachment point up higher on the tent, and have the small center transverse pole be attached to the main poles (this small pole would flip down as the tent caved in the wind) for extra structural stability. High winds like this are unusual in my experience, even above treeline where we were, so maybe not a huge design input. The tent flattened to where the poles were touching our feet (windward side of tent), but nothing broke so I'll give it credit there. Overall, very good tent but performance in high winds is marginal, so I give 4 stars.

I have purchased many BA products over the years and find them all excellent quality and do a great job of what they are designed for.

Recently, I took the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 Long on a multi-day backpacking adventure. This ultra-light, three-person tent was impressive, offering an excellent balance between light weight, ample space, and sturdy construction. Despite its feather-lightness, the tent provided plenty of room for our group and our gear. Its durability stood out too, as it handled gusty winds and rain effectively. Setup was a breeze with the intuitive color-coded clip system, even in low light. Ventilation was also top-notch due to the abundant mesh sections and two large doors, keeping the tent fresh and condensation-free. A minor drawback was the relatively thin floor material. While we had no issues, an additional footprint might be a good idea for extra protection. Overall, the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 Long is a superior ultra-light tent, meeting demanding backpacker needs with ease. Its benefits clearly outweigh its minor quirks, making it an excellent outdoor companion.

I have used the Copper Spur HV UL2 for years and decided to get the bigger UL3 Long for a little more space. I use the tent solo and obviously it's plenty big for one but still packs small-ish and is light enough for canoe camping. The pockets and wall shelf are all very useful and well thought out. I like how the pole tips lock into the buckles. The buckles themselves require precise alignment in order to connect the fly. Most of my camping is on Florida islands and the sand jams up the delicate design of the buckles making them difficult to connect. The older versions of the Copper Spur do not have this issue so this is a very small step backwards. That said, it's a great tent and am very happy with both of mine.
