Nice tent

The tent is great, very light, I was really looking forward to it. But I used a third-party delivery company to my region. During delivery, very strong perfume was spilled on it, now it smells very strong, it is hard to be in it. I don't even know what to do with it now. It's a pity that this happened, and I can't order it again, since they no longer produce it.

Vary windproof and waterproof

This tent held up vary well in 30-45 mile per hour winds and hail. the structure of the tent was very well even while the other tents were collapsing in on their selves.

I will suggest this product to anyone who asks.

I spent the a week recently in my new tent and could not be happier with it. I am 6'-5" and 240 lbs, so the longer length and more head room was much appreciated. As a bonus, it fit nicely on my handlebars for carrying.

Great lightweight tent for tall couple

Really glad we purchased the Long version on this tent since we are both quite tall at 6'4" and 5'9". We were both able to lay down completely with our bags inside the tent, something we've had to sacrifice in the past with a lightweight tent. The fabric does feel more delicate, but we're just conscious about it and haven't had any issues yet.

Pull the trigger!

We love the Spur! We had borrowed our friend's a bunch and decided it was time to pull the trigger. We are using it for mostly car camping, so we don't regret buying the Long to give us a little more space. I am 5'6" and my partner is 6'0". It fits us perfectly with room to store a few small bags. It is incredibly cozy; we sleep very well in this tent. We remain dry from the rain yet there still seems to be good ventilation, because it doesn't feel sticky inside when we wake up, even with the rain fly on. It's very light and packs down well enough. Easy to set up alone, takes no more than two or three minutes together. The stuff sack does feel a little flimsy, though conveniently lightweight. The stuff sack for my friend's Spur tore, so I'm being cautious with mine. If you're considering buying this tent, you won't regret it. It's the best tent I've ever owned, and I am just as excited about it now as the day I ordered it.

Worth its weight

Taken a few overnight trips and have plenty of room, the light weight makes it easy for me to go with my wife or alone.

Best tent and company every!

This is by far my favorite tent in over 30 years of camping and backpacking! These days I backpack in the Sierras with my dog, and at 6'2" with a 60 lb black lab, this is the perfect size us at a super light weight. I'd previously been using the Big Agnes Slater 2+ (and before that heavier tests by other brands), and the interior space, two doors (and on the side, instead of on the end like the Slater), and headroom of the Copper Spur Long make this a huge improvement in comfort and usability! And Big Agnes has the best support. On the last night of our first trip with the tent last fall, my 2 year-old lab was sound asleep when a noise woke her up and, forgetting that she was in a tent, she tried to go charging outside through the wall. Surprisingly, she only tore a couple holes in the fabric with her paws, but the force of her impact knocked the tent on its side, pulling the stakes out of the ground and causing the seam tape to separate from the fabric in two corners of the tent body. Still, amazingly little damage for a 60 lb furry cannon ball going off inside at close range! After the trip, I contacted Big Agnes to get the tent body repaired, explaining that the damage was from a dog accident and offering to pay for the repair. A few weeks later, I received a brand new tent body at no charge! I couldn't be happier with the tent or customer service. Big Agnes is the best!

Good quality. Still pining for the perfect size.

Rounding up from 3.5. Pros: - Love the head room while laying or sitting. Such a game changer for staying warm and dry and there is ample space for from bedtime stretching. - I adore all of the pockets, especially the roomy gear drying pocket at the foot end and the small earplug & glasses sized pockets at the head. - Pleased with the weight. It feels like the right balance between carry weight and durability. - Easy to set up alone. Cons: - I purchased primarily for solo use, but hoped to also accommodate my partner when he joins. Unfortunately, its not quite wide enough for both me and my partner - just a little too narrow for our preferred backcountry sleeping pads. Since I was looking for something just for myself, I wish there was an option that split the difference between the 1-person and 2-person tent widths. - the stakes could use a little more positive gripping action at the head. In other words, with a little pulling or an improper angle, the lines can pop right out of the groove. - so bright! I suppose this is a tradeoff for lightweight, but with such a thin, light-colored fly, a face mask is a must for high latitude summer camping. I would have preferred a darker fly color. - don't love the top-loading stuff sack. I realize this is common, but I have been spoiled by a side-loading sack in my other tent and it is way easier to stuff with cold fingers, wet tent, or when I'm alone.

Worth the extra ounces

I'm 6'2" and this is a great option to keep my head and feet away from the tent

Love this tent!

My wife and I used this on a 3-month bikepacking tour in Spain. Every day ended up with us setting this up quickly and easily, creating our home sweet home. The inner pocket design was so convenient, the vestibules huge and comfy, the doors that pin out into mini-awnings great when it rained, and the extra-long design gave enough storage in the tent that if we wanted to we could have stored our packs inside the tent with us. The tent survived through a huge windstorm, a hailstorm, several heavy rain days (I know, in Spain... Right??), spiky and sandy terrain - without a leak, a broken pole or a sticky zipper. This tent was well worth the extra couple of ounces and cubic centimetres of space than the other options we'd considered for the convenience, comfort, and durability we experienced for three months on the road. I'd buy it again in a flash.

Love the Copper Spur!!

Love this tent. It is lightweight and freestanding and my partner who is 6'2" fits in it! It is nice that they make a long version so that tall people can be a little more comfortable in it.

6' 6" and fits me perfectly as a solo tent.

Trying to find a tent that fits me at 6' 6" that isn't a 6 person tent has been a challenge. It's a shame so few reputable brands offer anything for taller people. I tried several tents from other manufacturer's that claimed their tent would fit up to 6' 6" and while they were technically accurate as long as you are two-dimensional, their ridiculously optimistic measurements fall apart when you consider you will be 3-4" off the floor with a pad, another 12" for your head and feet and suddenly their tents really only fit people 6' and under if you don't want wet feet and head from condensation after rubbing the sloping tent walls. When I got this home and set it up in my basement, I was surprised that I could even lay flat on my stomach and still not hit the walls with my feet stretched out and my arms under my head. That alone won me over. Add to that the tent is dead simple to setup in under 4-5 minutes and decently lightweight and this is a stellar 2.5 to 3 three season tent. Now the drawbacks... The zippers. Ugh. They are far to delicate and take two hands to operate. I get they were trying to shave every gram here, but there are some things that I would gladly have be made more durable just so they don't annoy me constantly. The vestibule door stays. I get it, they are little pick axes and it matches your company mining theme. Seriously though? Did anyone even test these and realize they are a pain in the butt to get through the stay loops? I am cutting them off and putting something else on. Unless you make Barbie Dream Tents, stop trying to make tents "cute", make them functional. You cannot use those stupid picks with cold fingers AT ALL. Hook and loop attachments on the fly zipper flaps. Please use more robust stitching with a reinforced backing patch. In the first three days of use, it looks like two of these are about to tear off. The stitching is loose and now I find myself having to hold each side of the hook and loop fabric in order to open them without tearing them away from the fly. In a dream world, I would want this exact tent design, only with more robust zippers and stitching as well as a bit thicker denier fabric. It seems the tent industry has fallen prey to chasing numbers (grams) much in the same way that cell phones are racing to the thinnest phone at the expense of battery life. These annoying issues aside, this is still a fantastic tent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend, so long as that friend knows they will need to be very delicate with certain aspects of the construction. P.S. $80 for the ground sheet? Are you kidding BA? It seems the tent is the loss leader and your main business is selling ground sheets? *cough*

On my third Copper Spur: UL1, UL2 and now the UL2 long.

I appreciate that even with the Labor Day weekend, BA was able to get my new tent to me before our planned hike. The tent with the additional space in the bottom was great, especially with the rain we had on our first two days. I have another hike planned a few weeks from now, which will include my border collie and looking forward to the additional space. #sweepstakes

Copper Spur UL2 Long

This is such a great tent! We've been using the Slater Ul2+ long for 8 yrs and have been waiting for a few years for another Big Agnes long tent. My husband is 6'2" and we primarily backpack for a few full weeks and a number of weekends throughout the year, as well as occasional bikepacking. We need a tent that is light, but will keep us still loving the trail life. I love that this is a truly freestanding tent. The Slater was great, but was super finicky and getting the guy lines perfect in condensation or rain, or setting it up on granite took a LOT of work. This tent is much easier and faster to set up as a freestanding tent. What is great (other than the length and the easy setup)-- two vestibules and the amazing extra headroom. We can finally both sit up in the tent at the same time! We can get in and out of the tent independently. I am happy with a few extra ounces for those features! Probably won't use the trek poles feature for the vestibule but it's fine and may need it if you have a lot of time in camp with sun. We took it out for a test run bike camping and it was a breeze to set up. Everything is super delicate, as you would expect from a lightweight tent, so we always use a footprint and are very careful with zippers. With all of the mesh and vents there was no issue with condensation. Also appreciate the extra mesh pockets inside and the color coded clips for set up. I'm just really excited that Big Agnes gave us another long tent with great upgrades and can't wait to put some Sierra miles on it this summer.

Just perfect for me and my dog.

Love this tent, it's lightweight and my dog and I fit perfectly in it. I'm back is as crooked as a politician from years of as a horticulturist. I need lightweight gear, and this tent fits the bill. When out in the Rocky Mountains backpacking for a 100 mile. There is nothing better than to pitch your tent quickly, eat dinner and crawl into your text for a good night sleep so you can pack it up and hike another 20 miles again. Tent is easy to set up, and take down. I'm a huge fan of Big Agnes gear. Both my sleeping bag and sleeping pad are Big Agnes. Once I find a company/brand that I like, it's a hard sale to get me to switch. I've been using Big Agnes since 2006.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 2 LONG

Finally, a 3 season tent long enough for me. The regular length tents will not fit my sleeping bag without the foot being compressed against the tent. Big Agnes overstates the length dimension on this tent when I set it up. I measured 93 inches long, not 96 inches. My 15-degree sleeping bag measures 90 inches long exterior, so it fits. Thank you. Great tent for me at 6'2" and 210 pounds, with my 15- pound mini dachshund hiking buddy. Not a 2-adult tent.
