Excellent design concept

It's very well designed, easy to set up, and high quality. be sure to buy the optional tarp that comes with it. It does not come with enough stakes.

Go to family tent for the backcountry

We've owned this tent for several years now and we have put it through the wringer on backpacking trips with our family of 4. Very lightweight, packs up small, and has plenty of room. The tent's structure is sturdy; it does well in the wind, but I would wish that it had some more guy points. The fabric is amazing: it compresses so small and it's completely waterproof- after an intense hailstorm in the Crestones, we had standing water under the tent and the floor remained dry inside. The vestibules have plenty of room to store all of our packs under one side. Zippers are of good quality and I really like how they are configured on the doors. My favorite perk is the gear storage on the tent ceiling. My only frustration with the tent how the main cross poles are laced together through a central hub; I would find it easier to set up if the poles were separate. Now that our kids are sprouting into teenagers, I'm getting a 2P Copper spur for our family backpacking trips, but that's not because of needing more space: I mean, who wants to share a tent with a couple of teenagers?

Almost flawless

We used this tent for the first time on a family backpacking trip in Grand Gulch (4 of us for 6 nights) and loved it for many reasons. It did well in the rain, and it packs small enough the whole thing could fit in my husband's pack easily. We fit all four backpacks easily under the vestibules to keep dry in the rain. Some sand blew in, but that's to be expected with a lightweight, mesh tent in a desert wind/rainstorm. The only thing that seems like it may not last are the zippers, with the sand. They started zipping not-so-smoothly after about two days. Hopefully they can withstand more desert trips!

Copper Spur is like Gold- it's a great investment!
