Very warm, fit is slim, it was 0 deg and did very well!

You can't go wrong with this bag for a very light but warm bag. Used in CO at 9000' and it was 0 deg, held up very well. Little tight in the shoulders, but I will continue to use it for sure. Expensive but worth it!

So versatile

Two seasons with this bag and have used it from 0 degrees down to -37F in hammock and ground sleeping on multiple trips nordic skiing in the BWCA of Minnesota. The versatility comes with the venting capability via the arm and long entry zippers and large draft tubes. Even in the extreme cold I typically part the draft tubes or have zippers open with draft tubes blocking the openings. The snorkel hood, no joke, is the absolute best way of managing extreme cold moisture/frost issues and cross drafts. After using the snorkel hood I would never consider using a winter bag without it. The reflective inner fabric really works well and this bag warms up quickly. Packability is exceptional! This has replaced my winter kit consisting of multiple layered items that were never warm enough. Exceptional sleeping bag. I would recommend only this bag.

Stunning sleeping bag

Used this on a couple summit camps and it was simply amazing. The fit and feel is incredible. We actually missed a summit morning because of how comfortable this bag is. We just zipped back up and went back to sleep! Incredibly warm but not hot, roomy with fill in all the right places. Top centered zipper is nice and easy to use. Used with an Xtherm Max and Z-Lite

Nice but advised

Looks great, feels great, smells great. I recently used the Polar Ranger in low 30sF and still woke up shivering in this -20F rated bag. My main intended use is for a Kilimanjro climb in late July. I'm concerned about its upcoming performance on the mountain. I'll try it with a liner but that shouldn't be necessary with this pricey bag. I recommend this bag but not for below 30F use.

Polar Ranger -20F, maybe not

Looks great, feels great, smells great, but in temps of the low 30s (F) I still woke up shivering in this -20 rated sleeping bag. My main intended use for the polar ranger is a Kilimanjro climb at the end of July. I'm a bit concerned.

Changing the comfort of cold bivouacs!

I have used the Polar Ranger in the mountains of Norway in minus 23 degrees Celsius. I especially like how surprisingly light and compressible it is to be so warm. The opening for the arms in the side is a feature that changes the way we work in our cold bivouacs. Now we can keep the warmth of the sleeping bag while we do the cooking and organising! The extra insulation in the toe-box is great for us who suffer from old frostbite injuries. The neck closing ("snorkel hood") really works fantastic. It keeps away draft and moisture while keeping very good ventilation. What impressed me the most with the bag was how it stayed dry and kept its volume night after night. I thought "hydrophobic down" was just hype, but it actually works! The only thing I miss is a small pocket inside the bag to keep my earplugs, lip-balm and phone.

The best Cold Temps bag I have ever used

The warmth, functionality, and performance of this sleeping bag is on point. I love that a polar explorer and others at therm-a-rest have spent a ton of time dorking out on this bags features. I like that attention to detail. To be inside the bag and have the ability to get both of my arms outside the bag to grab something or adjust my solar system or whatever is super cool and unique.
