I'd never been warm enough while snow camping until I got this bag. I have no more dread of being too cold now! I also use it to sleep in my unheated van, because sometimes you end up at Bryce Canyon in an 8F snow flurry. The water froze overnight, but I didn't!

Used a week in Colorado backpacking and tent camping at 8-9000' lowest temp was 27. Stayed comfortable inside with no cold spots at all. Packed down very small for a 0 degree bag. Only gave four stars because the zipper hangs in the material quite a lot.

Awesome value, packs small enough but is not going to be for the ultra minimalist who wants the lightest/smallest possible 0degree bag. It has worked well for PNW winter ski trips and spring mountaineering missions. Could be a little warmer but I just bundle up if it dips below 10.

This is the best bag of it's kind on the market today. Worth every penny to invest in good quality gear, especially where sleep is concerned. Best toe box of any sleeping bag I have ever tried. Warmer than my MHW down bag. The color makes me happy everytime I look at it.

Used it once. Got down in the 20s. No hint of getting cold. Zipper will unzip in the night if ya squirm, but awesome lightweight warm bag.

I have used it at 18F and not lower temps. We snow camped and the inside of the bag stayed dry even though there was a lot of condensation inside the tent. I am a female and a cold sleeper, I found the shoulder to be a bit drafty. Maybe I should have added another layer on top, I was only wearing my base layer. This will be perfect for 90% of backpacking that I do, which is in WA winter and summer. Also good for summer mountaineering, like Rainier and Baker. I love the straps that can be used to secure the sleeping back to the air pad and the foam pad. I toss a lot, and wake up in the morning on the tent floor without the pads. That issue has been solved! Also like the zip pocket on the side for my phone and chapstick. Overall I am happy and recommend this bag.

I am overall very happy with this sleeping bag; however, it seems that the temperature rating isn't as accurate as I would like it to be. I found myself waking up cold when the temperatures were in the upper 30s, seemingly well above the rating. Otherwise, the bag is great. The color is energizing, good loft, it packs well, and I am happy overall--though I've adjusted my temperature expectations.

This bag is warm and comfortable in frigid weather, light for the temp rating and packable. I have several bags rated for winter and this is my favorite. Nice that it mates with the mattress.

I've had this bag out on about 15 trips over the past two winters and the bag never let me down in cold temps down 5F. I paired the bad with the Thermarest Xtherm.

I bought this bag for backpacking and all around use, I needed a updated bag. I don't do a lot of cold weather backpacking but (15 to 30f temps) works great at those temps! I needed a new bag and read a dozen reviews and a couple of friends purchased the Oberon and loved theirs. A backpacking buddy of mine went to Everest Base Camp and used the Oberon on his trek up Khumbu Valley last year during first of March a colder time to trek in the region but the skies are clear for viewing. Btw, I plan on trekking to EBC April 2021 I too will have a report of my use of the Oberon, I digress. But my trekking buddy said temps at higher elevations 15,000 + were in the single digits every night he reported the Oberon performed flawlessly and packed well.

Unbelievably impressed with this bag. It's warm, sure, but the details are what impress me most. High quality fabric that's super comfortable to snuggle up in, feathers are so fine you can't feel any stems, just pure fluff, the 60%/40% on fill on the top vs bottom makes a difference, didn't realize it had a fully stuffed toe box inside the bag for double insulation, that was a fun surprise for my always cold feet. Thick fill against the zipper can't even tell it's there. Can't rave about this bag enough.

A warm, dry, and light sleeping bag might be the most essential piece of gear when you are winter camping. I recently put the Therm-a-Rest Oberon 0°F winter sleeping bag to the test, as I camped in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in snow, rain, and everything in between. I wanted to be sure to test Therm-a-Rest's Oberon 0°F in conditions close to zero. On an early December weekend in New Hampshire, a friend and I loaded up our backpacks and set off to spend two nights in the White Mountain National Forest. We were camping underneath the rainfly of my winter tent. It was a high of 20°F that day, and it was forecasted to dip to 4°F at night. Our second night was only slightly warmer, with a temperature of 10°F. With temperatures like this, I knew I was pushing the limits of the Oberon. Despite being so close to the temperature limit of the sleeping bag, I was warm, comfortable, and dry all night long. For my second test, I wanted to put the 800-fill Nikwax Hydrophobic Down to the test. Fortunately, or perhaps, unfortunately, there has been no shortage of cold rain lately in New England. On one such rainy weekend, I once again went out to spend two nights in the Oberon, this time in a bivy sack in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The mercury did not dip that low, only to 35°F, but these weather conditions allowed for me to put the Nikwax Hydrophobic Down to the test. Once again, Therm-a-Rest's Oberon thoroughly impressed me. Despite plenty of condensation on the inside of my bivy sack, the Oberon continued to insulate and the inside stayed dry. All in all, the Oberon is my new go-to sleeping bag for winter excursions. This sleeping bag does it all. It compresses well and is extremely lightweight, while still being incredibly warm. The SynergyLink Connectors ensure that you won't slide off your sleeping pad in the middle of the night, and the Toe-asis Foot Warmer Pocket keeps your toes warm all night long.

I used this all winter to camp out in the back of my subaru and in my van - even when it was literally snowing I felt nice and cozy snuggled up in my sleeping bag. It went with me to my avalanche course, my rock guide course, and will accompany down in Patagonia this coming season. A warm, durable winter bag.

This is bag is the bees knees. It is already as light as my 15 degree bag I use at altitude in the summer and packs up pretty dang small. I actually found the included compression sack to be bigger than needed, and use the same compression sack as I use for my typical summer setup because the Oberon can pack that small. As for warmth, it definitely combats to the cold, and was surprised to not have woken up on a 8 degree night in Mammoth recently. Because of its weight and packability , I will probably be found using this more throughout the year compared to a normal 0 degree bag, as it won't be such a pain to carry for overnighters. Works great with Theramarest pads because of the sleeves underneath to keep you locked in and on top of your sleeping system all night.

The Oberon sleeping bag is extremely light and compact to be so warm! It packs and weights as a three-season bag, but works fine in winter! Last winter I used it in the Norwegian mountains six nights in a row, altering between snow caves and a tiny bivouac tent. In temperatures down to minus 15 degrees Celsius it kept me warm and safe. I especially appreciated the extra insulted box for the feet – a gift to us who suffer from old frost-injuries. The reinforcement on the inside of the zipper so it doesn't get caught in the fabric, is another much appreciated detail that solves a surprisingly common problem for sleeping bags. Having said that – I find the zipper almost too easy to operate. I would prefer at bit more friction to it so it does not open so easy when sitting up with the bag around you. Another detail I think could be better is the pocket: I prefer when it is on the inside of the bag – so I can easily find my earplugs and lip-balm without having to reach out into the cold. What impressed me the most with the bag (apart from the incredible weight/compact – to – warmth ratio) was how it stayed dry and kept its volume night after night. I thought "hydrophobic down" was just a hype, but it actually works! Every morning the cover of the bag was moist from the damp night and snowy environment. Having to move on without time or environment to dry out, I was sceptical every morning as I packed it into the compression bag. Not exactly looking forward to unpacking a lump of wet down in the evening. But quite astonishingly – it kept dry and fluffy during the whole trip! For me the Oberon is the natural choice for light weight winter mountaineering.

This bag is very light, easily compressible, and quite warm. I was at Camp Muir in early June when a very wintery storm rolled in with 10 degree temperatures, 40+ mph wind and lots of snow. We spent 3 days waiting out the storm and this bag kept me warm and dry. I thought I might have been overpacking with this bag, but when the weather changed for the worse, I was very glad I had it. The "toeasis" works well when I first crawled into my bag with very cold feet, I could tuck them into this pocket until they warmed up. I never felt any dampness in the bag, in spite of the fairly high humidity. Given the 60/40 split in insulation, I do think having a well-insulated pad is important to get the full rating from this bag.

I recently used this bag during an ascent of Mt. Baker in Northern Washington and I loved it. Stuffed into the included compression sack (includes compression straps), this bag took up less space than my Kelty Cosmic Down (-6C) bag. At just over 1 kg, this feels like a typical 3-season bag instead of a heavy winter bag. Through a damp night with a mix of rain/freezing rain/snow, the hydrophobic down maintained its loft and kept me toasty warm without ever overheating. I highly recommend the Oberon for anyone who needs a warm and lightweight sleeping bag for dealing with less than ideal weather!

I absolutely loved using this sleeping bag on a series of ski trips in different backcountry huts as well as snow camping! It packed small in a stuff sack and was light weight carrying it on backpacking trips. It kept me cozy in single digit temps and my feet toasty warm with the extra foot warmer pocket in the bottom of the bag. I just discovered the hidden zip pocket and straps to connect to a sleeping pad. The zippered pocket is convenient to store electronics in cold temps. I would highly recommend this bag for winter camping trips!

I am on a long distance motorcycle trip from Alaska to Patagonia. The trip also involves a lot of alpine climbing so the weather swings on the trip are quite dramatic. I have been using the Oberon for the last while and I have been very impressed. This bag has done well in warm, cold, wet, and dry weather. The material is water resistant and the Hydrophobic Down does not clump up of de-loft when wet. That is a critical aspect of a good bag. In an ideal scenario, the bag never gets wet, but on a trip like mine it is always getting damp or even very wet at times, and each time it has kept me warm and dried out easily. The bag has also retained its loft very well even though it is constantly being stuffed into my motorcycle bag. I've put it through the ringer and so far it is none the worse for wear. Thermarest has really upped its game in the technical sleeping bag department. For years they have produced the best pads on the market, but now I feel that their new sleeping bags are right up there with other top quality (and way more expensive) brands. I really like this bag and will be using Thermarest for my trips and climbs from now on.

I got to take the Oberon for a "test sleep" with Thermarest in January, and I was thoroughly impressed. The weather was... damp. It snowed about a foot of Cascade Concrete overnight, and the inside of our tent felt like a rainforest. But golly, I was as warm and dry inside the Oberon as I've ever been on a backcountry adventure. In my other bag I would've been a shivery mess. I've been converted to a believer in hydrophobic down. I usually sleep cold and was a little worried about the 14deg comfort rating, but it turned out to be plenty warm enough (even with my soggy gloves and boot liners in the bag with me). It was an obvious choice to say buh-bye to my old bag and upgrade to this one.
