Side sleeper here who tosses and turns all night. This bag allows me room to do that and be "tucked in" like I do in my bed at home. I am a cold sleeper, and I don't feel its comfort temp rating should be any lower than 35/40F. In 50 degrees it's really hot but in 30 degrees I'm struggling to stay warm. (Added a fleece liner and that helps) Biggest con so far: it collects condensation when nothing else in the tent does. So the comfy flap gets soaked from your breath and the leg area gets damp from sweat. I would recommend a liner to help combat the moisture. I plan to take this on my thru-hike of the AT if I can get it to keep me warm in the 20s.

I am a shorter guy and sleep relatively cold, so I opted for the Women's version for a added warmth and fit. Sierra delivered. This is exactly what I was asking for. I also have the men's version, and I like that a lot, but the filling seems light on top. This model has compacted the shape and beefed up the filling. I am about 5'5"-5'6" and it fits perfectly. I'd be a little hesitant if I was 5'8" or over, or consider the men's version and add a warm liner if you sleep cold. The colors are slightly feminine fuchia-ish but are not hot pink or vastly different from the men's red color. The zipperless design adds to the comfort IMO - however, is a little tricky to get out of in a tight space (single person tent). Scootching your rear end up towards the exit helps. Lastly, the no-insulation torso back is fine for warmth, but will not fit a wider pad which a lot of us have. You can lay the bag on top if you have a wider pad, but requires more attentiveness when turning around at night to maintain a good seal with the pad in the back. .

Bag is very comfy & warm - I wish the sleep pad sleeve was a bit wider to fit a pad more than 25 inches it would be nice to have some insulation in the sleeve area also - I love the zipper less function

I found a lot of awkwardness from zippered mummy bags, especially as a side sleeper, and the Cloud 20 definitely represents an improvement. The bag feels cozy and roomy. The sleeping pad sleeve holds the bag nicely in place, though the tightness of the wrap did make the hood ? with a pillow inserted ? put pressure on my head when I slept on my back. It's comfortable to sleep on your side in . . . *if* you're sleeping on your left side, where the comforter piece tucks in. Though the design makes it very awkward to sleep on your right side. The bag started smelling funky about halfway through the night; I guess a scent of the down. Found some feathers that had escaped in the morning. I usually sleep cold, but this bag kept me warm when the temps were around 32 degrees. (Of course, I did throw a couple of Hot Hands packets and a Nalgene with hot water in it into the bag). While I've pointed out some cons, overall this bag is comfortable and an improvement over standard zippered bags and I'm happy with it.

Shy of 5 stars because on warmer nights (approx 60 fahrenheit) , its a bit uncomfortable in the lower body as you won't get that airflow you would get with an ordinary sleeping bag with zipper. My lower body does tend to run hot. I got the woman's so not sure if that makes a difference. More importantly, this sleeping bag has kept me warm during cold nights, and I love that I can stick my feet out and wrap the flap around me and get really snug. Another thing I will point out is that when sitting upright, the mat comes up with you and pulls at the sleeping bag leaving your upper body bare. This is slightly awkward when reaching for something at the other end of your tent, but really not a big deal. I do like that my sleeping bag is secured to the mat during my sleep. Its a lightweight, functional sleeping bag, that you crawl into after a hike during a cold night. Its easy to pack up in the stuff bag and take on the go. Happy with my purchase!

Both of my kids, age 10 and 12 are liking the sleeping bags a lot so far. They?re very light, they packed down small, and they are very comfortable. Getting rid of the zippers is a dream! I inspected all the same as when we got them, and everything looks very good in the quality of the construction. We?ll see how they hold up over time. I?m hoping for the best.

We bought 2 of these sleeping bags and took them on a week long river trip. They are excellent. It is really well designed and thought out. It was hot at night and would cool off. The venting features are amazing. We love the foot vents. They are a great way to slide a little out when you get to hot. We also love the one sided flap. It is nice to be able to wrap it around you when it cools off or to be able to open it right up if you get to hot. If I had one suggestion I would say a small hand pocket in the inside of the flap to help tuck in and hold on. Otherwise I give this bag a 10/10

Honestly the best all around sleeping bag I've ever used or owned. Would definitely recommend this one to all my friends.

Cloud 20 bag makes you feel like you?re on Cloud 9. Great down count. Lightweight. Multiple campouts in and no feather loss. I?ve purchased two now.

Haven?t used it in the field yet, but first impressions are good. Light, with plent of room. I feel constricted but normal mummy bags. This seems like a sweet spot between quilt and mummy. One con: I wish the back sleeve could accommodate a 25 inch wide sleeping pad instead of just a 20 inch.

I?m a pct hiker and will hike the Arizona Trail in March, I needed a new bag and thought I would give the Sierra Designs Cloud 20 a try. I got it 4 days after I ordered. I took it on an overnight last week to Lake Sonoma for an overnight 25 mile loop. It got to about 35 at night and pretty damp out, I have an msr hubba nx tent, inside I stayed pretty dry. I was so comfortable I couldn?t believe it?. A few things, the oversized quilt that wraps around you is soft and seems more like a blanket than a bag. It makes enough room to sit up cross legged and still cover up, it?s so cool. Then the foot vent, the cool thing about it is you can work on your feet in your bag!! It?s the best sleeping bag I ever had and I can?t wait to spend 6 weeks in it!

I haven't had an opportunity to take this baby out on a trip yet, but so far I am loving it! It's so light and fluffy (like a cloud!) and the zipperless comforter-like flap is pure heaven. I laid in it for awhile in my house and I was able to very comfortably chill on my side and felt like I had PLENTY of room to stretch out and even extend my knee out with no twisting. I cannot wait to get it out on the trail!

I love this sleeping bag and the zipperless design. It is comfortable, warm, and lightweight. After experiencing so many zipper failures with past sleeping bags, I was quite excited to try out this new design. I far exceeded my expectations, and I can't imagine going back to a zippered bag for 3 seasons. Great work Sierra Designs!

This bag is amazing. I sleep extremely cold and I?ve used this bag in everything from 60F degree nights (toss off the comforter and stick your feet out the foot box and you stay comfortable) to 30F degree nights (wearing good base layers I was super warm.) One night I had to set up in a grassy field and the overnight temp dropped below freezing, so the outer bag (and my tent) got coated in condensation, but the inner sleeping bag stayed dry and warm. Another night (about 50F) my rain fly failed in a rainstorm and my sleeping bag got truly soaked, but even wet I stayed warm enough, and once the rain stopped the bag dried out completely in about half an hour. I would definitely not recommend soaking this bag and trying to sleep in it, but it?s good to know it can handle that kind of abuse so well. I very rarely write reviews, but I absolutely love this bag.

I love this bag! I?ve never had a quilt style or a hybrid, but it?s certainly a revolution in sleeping bad design. Not to mention the foot box that allows you to stick your feet out in warmer nights. Overall, I extremely satisfied with the bag. However, after using my bag once time, I realized my bag had several seams that were coming undone, one ripped open, causing feathers to fly out. And I discovered a seam that was down inside-out. I have placed a claim with the warranty and am waiting to hear back on the results. I spoke to two different people and got slightly different answers to what the resolution will be. I am hopeful Sierra Designs comes through with a full replacement. A bag this expensive shouldn?t have those kinds of issues.

Really cozy and warm! However it's been leaking feathers a good bit which is kind of a nuisance but somewhat to be expected from a new down bag. I like the zipperless design and the foot hole. I was skeptical at first but I haven't had issues at near freezing temps with air leaks, and I like that I can wrap up in the top part almost like a blanket. Works well for sleeping on both sides and on your back and gives me some cozy comfort when working in the backcountry.

I love this bag, the design is outstanding. I love not having a zipper and the floor vent is awesome. I feel the bag is not warm enough if you get below 40, SD should just put the filling in the back, leaving out filling to save weight is cute until it gets cold. The material gets very clammy when and if you get a little warm. I have used it 20 times and no matter the temp it makes me sweat and then I?m cold. I hope SD can produce this bag with better materials and proper insulation because it?s brilliant. I refuse to give it up I just keeping trying different clothing layers hoping to hit it right.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. So happy I pulled the trigger. The temp rating was perfect for chilly Yosemite nights. The little feet hole made it super easy to control my comfort level. I was skeptical about the burrito wrap but that won me over too. Didn?t feel as confined as I typically have in traditional sleeping bags. I could go on but let?s just say?.I love it!

I've had the same cheap sleeping bag for the past 10 years and finally decided to upgrade now that I'm getting more into backpacking and need something more lightweight. So far I've been very happy with the weight/size of this sleeping bag AND with how comfortable it is at night. I love the no zipper design, it really does make me feel like I have a secure (and warm) comforter wrapped around me. I did use the foot vent a couple times as well and it was very helpful for keeping my temperature regulated. I've only used it in 40 degree temp so far and I'm not sure it would keep me warm if it was below freezing. I've also only used it on 2 trips so I can't comment on durability. Overall though I'm very happy with my purchase!

We love this zipper less sleeping bag! They are perfect for every temperature we hike in, are light and durable and with no zipper, nothing to break. Tossing and turning is not a problem, you will always stay warm and comfy! Its like sleeping at home! I am not sure why they still make bags with zippers.

So cozy! Love the freedom of the no zipper! First outing was the Eastern High Sierra. Loved that I could unwrap and stick my feet out when too warm, and bundle back up when the sun went down.

I bought this bag for fastpacking. I love the zipperless design and the hole for my feet to stick through, and it was the right balance between weight and warmth for the Northern Rockies at elevation in mid summer (maybe even a tad too hot with a bivy sack). I am recommending this bag to everyone I know.

Hi there, I just purchased this bag based in large part on the low weight - "Minimum Weight: 1lb 12oz / 0.79kg." So I was surprised when I received the bag to see the Sierra Designs tag on it stating "2lbs. 4 oz." With its stuff sack, lo and behold, it is indeed 2lbs 4 oz. on my kitchen scale. The stuff sack weighs .9 oz., so the bag itself is about 2lbs. 3 oz. Where does the minimum weight figure come from? Sadly, I'll be returning this. I purchased it to replace my Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed 600 (which I love and will continue using) because I thought I would be saving a full pound in weight. Instead, I'm saving about 4 oz. and that's not worth the cost of the new bag. Too bad, I was really excited about this bag -- I'm certain it would very comfy.

STILL obsessed with this bag
By Becky C.
I love this bag so so much. It's super cozy, lightweight, and packs down well. I have *always* struggled with zippers, so this sleeping bag was a lifesaver. I also love the fact that I can easily stick out my feet when it's getting too hot, and it seriously feels like I'm just sleeping with a comfy blanket, rather than restricted in a cylindrical tube (which is how I used to feel). Also this past weekend I decided to use the bag how it was designed ... and put my sleeping bag in the built-in ...
