Bought this a few months ago and am super happy with it. Packs down super small for a -20 bag and is incredibly warm. So comfy. Used this in cold/wet Alaskan weather and it was great.

This bag is an all around great 0 bag. It packs very small for the temp rating and sleeps comfortably. I slept in this bag near zero with 20-30 mph winds in a 4 season tent. I wore my base layer top and bottoms and was more than comfortable all night long.

Just snow camped in 15 degree temps and was very happy with all the shoulder, neck and head adjustments to keep me warm. Bag was comfy and warm. Good shoulder width.

What I love: I've had this bag for a few seasons, so I have a number of nights in it. I am always very excited to climb into the soft fluffy bag as soon as I pull it out of the stuff sack! Kudos to the double side zipper, I get hot feet and require my sleeping bag to allow me to stick my feet out. The hood works great to hold my pillow. I have occasionally used the vents, they open and close no problem. I am a side sleeper (5'4" 155lb woman and I have no problem sleeping/moving in any position throughout the night - there is ample room in the hip/chest area. Stuff sack provided is wonderful and light weight: easy to get the bag in and compresses very well. The thicker fabric at the bottom of the bag helps with moisture if the tent is damp. The inner lining is dreamy feeling and I don't mind my bare skin against it, no stickyness. What could be better: The side zipper get stuck pretty easily when opening/closing at the top. There is a strip of fabric that looks like it was added to prevent this, but it doesn't help. So when in the bag and trying to zip up to be warmer at night, it requires a little more effort. But the thick baffle that gets stuck does prevent drafts. At the bottom the zipper doesn't get hung up as easily, but I did have some separation one evening. Overall I highly recommend the bag.

I bought this bag a few months ago and wasn't planning on actually being able to use it down at 0° temperatures, as I live in Texas. But thanks to a freeze in Feb I was actually able to try it out at Temps that low. I'll preface this review saying I do sleep well in cold weather so keep that in mind. Around 15-20° I slept very comfortable with just the bag and light sleepwear. The hood cinches down around your head very well and keeps a lot of heat in. The neck baffles help seal you into the bag as well without feeling constricting. I'd say about 12° and below I started needing more insulation. A quilt or liner would be a great addition. The sonic definitely does sleep a bit colder than other 0° bags and I agree with other people that it's most likely due to how roomy the bag is. That may be a feature to pay attention to before getting this vs. another bag. I like the roomier space in this bag, it makes it easier to move around in without having the bag get twisted and uncomfortable. Speaking of comfort, this bag is comfy. Super smooth material with zippers that are easy to use makes this bag a very nice way to sleep. It packs down incredibly well for such a puffy bag and doesn't way too much, though there are lighter options you could choose. Overall I like this bag, I'm satisfied with it, and I've used it for many campouts. The fact that it sleeps a bit cold compared to tighter mummies is what keeps it at a 4 star from me.

Love this sleeping bag. I work wilderness therapy and use if 16 nights out of the month. I would buy this again and again because I am always warm. Only qualm with the bag it the draft collar, it never seems to stay Velcroed but its still warm enough. It finally feels like i have found a bag for me.

I bought this for a late fall backpacking trip after being tired of being cold and uncomfortable for the past several years. This bag was not only warm when the temperatures dropped to 17, but I had room to move around at night.

First time using this bag & it was in the mid-20s. Feet were cold when I got in but warmed up after a short time. I stayed warm all night. Had on a base layer and was using a Nemo Switchback pad plus and inflatable pad. I'll be using this bag & pads pairing on a December trip. That'll be the real test! I also like the light weight for a zero degree bag and it fits in the sleeping bag compartment of my backpack when compressed.

The bag is awesome, super warm, great compactability which I what I bought it for. The one downside is if you have wide shoulders like I do, you're gonna struggle getting it zipped all the way up. I can only get it zipped almost to my shoulder.

I recently used this on an 8 day trip in the mountains. Cold, wet, rain, wind, sleet, snow but this bag kept me warm and dry the entire time. The thermal baffles are a great feature for warmer nights (45+, but when you zip them up this bag is very toasty. I only used it at temps in the upper 20s, but it stayed very warm. The insulation stayed dry and warm despite near constant damp conditions. I highly recommend this sleeping bag.

I bought recently. Have gotten in it have not tested in the weather I am hoping to yet. Hope to add a follow up review, but initial impression good construction, warm, comfortable, durable, light weight for the warmth and value. I feel confident this was a solid purchase, and anticipate great things for cold weather.

I was worried about getting a 0degree sleeping bag but living near the mountains and being that’s where I’m using it mostly, I decided to make the investment and go with something that will get me through some freezing nights since I get cold easily. With the gills and option to unzip partially it is a all-season bag for me! Super comfortable glad I bought it, I’ll have it forever

Purchased this bag for snow camping and ended up using all season long! The bag is light, versatile, and built for adventure. My first trip with this bag was ski touring to Tuolumne Meadows from Yosemite Valley and the bag delivered. After this trip I continued to use it because of how light it was compared to my Verde 20 synthetic and thank goodness for the vents! Even when it’s 40-50f I’m able to open the vents and be quite comfortable. One problem I have encountered is how hot the waterproof foot box got while sleeping in my OR Bivy. (However my feet are almost always hot Great product would recommend 10-10

I’ve used this bag for 4 winter seasons and multiple backpacking and mountaineering trips. I bought the 0deg bag and have successfully used it down to -5. At 5-10 deg you may need to start layering depending on how you sleep, but this bag performs as advertised. Vents are great and work well, and the draft tube and vent hood are excellent. The DWR footbox is perfect, and you’ll never wake up with cold feet from a wet tent wall. Solid winter bag that packs down well and lofts up great.

I've used this bag a number of times now although I have not tested down to zero it seems to be very warm and can handle the cold. When temperatures are a little warmer the vent gills help to really dissipate heat and was very comfortable sleeping with the side zip open.

I have owned 5 different sleeping bags. I have always found issues with each one. UNITIL NOW. I love this bag more than I love my sister. Its roomy, warm, doesnt strangle, and is the loftiest thing I have ever used. I still cannot believe that this bag is basically the only bag I use from 0 deg to 60 deg and it remains the comfiest. I have put it through the wringer: alpine climbing and bivying on a rope, sleeping all over the country, down to 10 deg nights where i stayed ultra warm. Only complaint is the zipper sometimes gets stuck a little on the baffles

I really like the vents. They make it super nice to regulate the temperature of such a warm bag in warmer weather.

I am an extremely active sleeper—which does not work well with traditional mummy bags. The space inside the bag supplied much needed room to move but was not so big that it created cold spots. For reference I’m 5’10” and 160lbs. The extra wide face opening allows for easier side sleeping and less suffocation. The vents allow for a more variable temperature range. Downsides are that the bag is a little bigger than a standard mummy of similar warmth and I have concerns about the longevity of the vent zippers.

I am an active duty service member serving in Upstate New York approximately 20 miles from the Canadian border. Winters are cold here. The military doesn't provide the best sleep systems as far as pack size and warmth, so I decided to purchase my own. I decided on the 0 degree bag, because of the temperature rating and the pack size. I have used this bag 20 plus times in temperatures ranging from 5 - 45 degrees, all nights within a tent, some nights sleeping on a cot, some on a insulated sleep pad and none insulated sleep pad. With none insulated sleep pad with temperature near and below freezing, I was freezing with waffle top and bottom on. With a cot to sleep on, no sleep pad, an arctic heater 5 feet away from me and temperatures around 5, I was freezing. With an insulated sleep pad, sleeping bag liner, and temperatures around 15 degrees I was comfortable. Bottom line, I would not trust this bag below freezing without a bag liner, insulated sleep pad, and a tent to sleep in.

I bought my Nemo sonic -20 late October 2019 and it has been a trusty friend ever since. I have used the sonic -20 4 nights in the Mont Alban/Presidentials, 3 nights in the Pemigewasset wilderness and 2 nights on wildcat/carter/Moriah in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I am testing my gear for the coldest part of a thru hike next winter. I have also used this bag sleeping in a car at the trailhead and at home when the power has gone out. I have experienced -10 at the coldest but I believe the sonic -20 is probably true to ratings. It is not the lightest or the smallest bag in the temp range - but durability, warmth, space and waterproof down/foot box that seriously denies condensation makes this bag a champ for cold, wet winter outings. The zipper vents add versatility to transition from mild to frigid nights using the same bag. The hood is pretty standard but works well. Ding- you can’t access the pocket when you are all tucked in.

Bought this bag a couple of months ago and LOVE IT. I use it outdoors and in my car on colder nights. I live out of a converted van. This thing is soft, comfy, and warm. It's like a warm cocoon. I can't say how it is mountaineering though as I haven't taken it into those conditions. I recently just got the nemo mountaineering sleeping pad and am very excited to try them together.

Bought this for Self-support kayaking the Grand Canyon in Jan. Packs down small enough to fit in dry bag but expands to fit my wide shoulders and 6 foot 200lb frame. Far roomier than my last bag. Went to sleep in 40 degrees and was not too hot but then, as I slept outside with no tent, it dropped to 20 degrees. Was curious how it would do. Woke up with frost covering my bag and was still warm in my cotton PJ's and no socks. See exactly why it was chosen as gear of the year. Looking forward to NOT freezing at night on the Grand.

I used the -20 Sonic during a wilderness ski race in the Brooks Range, Alaska where we experienced temps down to -30F. I was impressed with its performance even below its temperature rating. Though not immediately warm, I slept soundly and woke up toasty. I've also used this bag at temps around freezing and have not been too hot due to the unique venting system. This bag is roomy and far less constricting than your typical mummy bag.

I took this bag to the Northern Rockies for a month on a horse packing trip, then for five weeks to early-winter Mongolia. I was warm, comfy and comfortable the whole time. Hardest part of my day was getting up in the morning. I love this bag. Worth the extra weight, especially if you sleep cold like I do.

I'm 6'4" with broad shoulders. This is bag feels good for my size. I'm also a side sleeper and its is easy to turn from one side to the other without twisting up the bag. I have not found any negatives. Materials and workmanship are high quality. The waterproof footbox is a plus. Its hard to keep the foot of your bag away from the tent when you are tall so if there is some condensation it will not soak into the bag. Not yet tested in temps below freezing.

Bought this a few months ago, tested it in temps down to about -5 and the bag felt pretty cold... I realize loft isn't everything when it comes to temp ratings but bags with the same amounts of loft (7") from other U.S. manufacturers are only rated at about 0 degrees F. Not -20... I bought this hoping I'd be able to use it for a Denali climb, but I'm afraid it's not on par for that despite supposedly having a -20 degree rating. Guess there's a reason other bags with similar ratings cost significantly more. It's otherwise a very comfortable bag, and well designed.

I used this on a Kilimanjaro climb. Was very comfortable from 50 F weather down to 0 F. Also got fairly wet and still performed very well. Also I am a side sleeper and this was very comfortable.
