I was fortunate enough to get this barely used for $50. It was so convenient having this as part of our campsite setup. I had to rambunctious toddlers who loved playing in the ash of the fire pit. With the Helio around it was easy to get them cleaned up. It was also a great help in washing dishes. We prepared hot soapy water to wash; used the Helio to rinse. Reading some of the negative reviews it is clear that the issues they had were due to user error not product design. I would recommend that you watch the video if you are considering buying this. Once you do, when you actually use the Helio you should not run into any issues.

I have used my shower nearly everyday for a year as I travel full time in a van and it has not let me down

We are so impressed with this camp shower. It is incredibly well designed and has made our lives so much easier during a water crisis!! There are thoughtful details, such as well labeled components, and the "stand" is sturdy. The foot pump is easy to use and the material kept the water warm. It is compact and the instructions are easy to follow. Would highly recommend!

I bought my first Nemo Helio 5 years and it more than paid for itself by not having to pay $5 for showers on the road. I used it for 5 years and the pump failed and filled with water. Had I known that it was repairable, I would have repaired it myself. I returned the unit to Nemo and they sent me a new unit. The new Helio is a better design. It sits on the ground horizontally rather than vertically which tended to tip over. The filling hole is better too as it's indented. Previously, I spilled more water than what I put inside it. The mesh bag is better as everything dries out. The Helio sells for about $100. This may seem steep until you look at the construction and usefulness. I built my own camp shower using a weed sprayer and sink sprayer for about $35. It was heavy and did not store well inside my vehicle. The pump handle broke after a few uses. My first Helio lasted over 5 years! To be fair, I have not taken this on a camping trip. Expect a full review in July after I used it for a month on the road.

The Helio pressure shower is a must have for the outdoor enthusiast. It's uses are endless from showering and washing hands to rinsing off bikes, kayaks and dogs! It goes on almost every trip with me near and far. Such a handy tool!

After more use we've solved or discovered the technique needed to secure the camp. If you fill the bag all the way, its impossible. If you leave a little room at the top of sir, its easy as pie. We choose this bag (2 of them to equal the larger one because it's easy to get under a sink to fill ANYWHERE on the road. I find you need about 15 pumps to get the pressure to start and about 5 pumps every 15 seconds to keep the flow going. One bag easily allows me to wash my surf board, other gear and self with plenty water to spare. Each small bag is enough for two people to shower (soaping up between washes). We've used the product for about 6 months. No sign of wear yet.

I have used this camping multiple times and it has worked great but I also love it for after a mountain bike ride to rinse off myself and my bike.

To preface, I have the prior design iteration which stands up vertically and has the centered fill-port on the top-center?other than that it's pretty much the same thing. Overall I think this is a great product to have for our family camping trips (and beyond, and so far nothing has broken or gone wrong with it. Being mostly a black material the water in it warms up in the sun which helps, the clear top is nice to see the water level, and it packs up nice and compact inside its sack. However, there are some things that bug me: 1) it comes with a long hose?which is great and isn't what bugs me?but if you have it hanging on something for a shower up higher than your head the pressure doesn't last long and it starts to simply trickle out. I know you pump it up more to add pressure, but it seems like I'd be pumping non-stop to have better-than-trickling pressure. It's hard to shower fast and efficiently when you're constantly having to pump. 2) Speaking of pumping and pressure?every time I pump this up I'm on edge because it seems like it's going to explode. :-) Maybe it's just me, but to get the type of pressure I mentioned previously you need to pump it up to the point of it being scary. 3) Probably my biggest gripe, the fill port cap is super hard to close when filled and a little less hard to open. This to me is a design flaw?shouldn't be so difficult. Looks like they redesigned this part and looks much better. Probably from listening to their users. Kudos Nemo! 4) Filling it is a minor pain-in-the-butt unless you have a deep sink or utility sink, or a hose from an outdoor faucet?I have both. Again, the current design iteration was updated so this could also be a non-issue now.

We got the latest version, the horizontal helio and used it while camping. It's lightweight, but a little bulky for backpacking, so it's going to be used for shorter trips and car camping. The pressure is decent, not amazing but good enough for a shower. We found that it works well for washing dishes as well. The construction is solid and we didn't find closing the cap to be an issue, even though it is quite tight. After drying it out, there were still a few drops of water inside, but we left it with the cap open, when folded. Hopefully this won't be a problem. It only really stands up on its feet when pressurized, until then it just wobbles around. Not a big deal. Excited to try this in warmer weather and see how much it can heat up the water. We also own a battery powered shower, but prefer this one due to it's simplicity.

We bought this from REI for our RVD2 adventures, and we like (don't love the water pressure for rinsing off our feet, dogs real quick, SUPs, rinsing dishes before washing, etc. However, that fill port! Ugh. I cannot get it open or closed without my husband. I recently cut my finger, and definitely cannot get it open. So that being said, I can't really use it when I'm traveling alone without help from strangers. Recommend an updated (screw top?) or like a bike valve or something to allow easy use for fill. Also makes it hard to dry and in the humid areas I'm always worried about mold. Super happy about the capacity, though, and the foot pump.

So much easier to use than a hanging shower. Hard to fill up directly from a stream but using a cup to fill worked great. Found that my wife and I could both take showers by only filling it a quarter full.

Once the water is filled and the inlet valve sealed and air pumped, it does work great. However, getting to this stage is really difficult. The way it is designed, it is very difficult to fill it with water without spilling water everywhere. Once filled, it is REALLY DIFFICULT to seal the inlet valve. If there is a secret to doing it, please let me know! Every time I use it, I worry that I will rip the material or break the plastic seal valve. Also, after use, how do you dry the water out of the inside with such a small inlet opening? I stuck a Fossil Outdoor LilBon in through the inlet valve opening, and have a fan blowing at it for a day, on one of the driest day of the year (Red Flag Warning is in effect) and there is still water droplets inside. The pump and shower does work fine once everything is in place, but you need to make it more practical and usable!

This thing is awesome! So easy to use, and love that I can put hot water in it. Makes doing dishes so easy. Water gets surprisingly warm after only a couple of hours of Sun. Even better for taking showers. Love it!

We've only just begun to use our two, smaller (3 gal each) Helio Pressure Showers but they definitely live up to their great reputation! We choose to buy two smaller ones because A) we wanted the volume of large Helio shower when we're way out and water supply is of consideration but B) wanted the ease of carrying smaller shower bags for the kids and my wife. The pressure does not disappoint. 15-20 pump gets you about 15 seconds of solid, continuous water pressure and 5 or so pumps keeps it going until you run out of water. We prefer to use it to get wet, stop the water to soap up, then go again and wash off. This method would allow for two people to have a really long showers. The shorter just-get clean-showers would only take about 3 gallons (or one of our Helio Pressure Showers) for the four of us (daddy, mommy, medium size kiddo, and half-sized little one). The lid is tricky to get back on but practice makes perfect. Once sealed, it has not come off in our handful of uses. I like the horizontal orientation of this bag so you can easily fill it up on the road under a sink anywhere.

I had high hopes for this pressure shower. Unfortunately, I'm unable to secure the plug after filling it with water. It still works, but I have to constantly create pressure to have the water come out of the sprayer. A basic bucket of warm water and a cup would do the same thing.

Bought this shower a month ago to improve the post-surf experience. The shower is really intuitive to use, the pressure is great, and it gets warm relatively quick. We've used it to cool of on warm days and to take warm showers after jumping in the ocean. Works well, great price, easy to store when not filled.

Unlike gravity camp showers that need to be hung overhead and produce dismal water pressure, the award-winning Helio portable pressurized shower and sprayer rests on the ground and provides the pressure you need to wash hair, do the dishes, rinse off gear, water your plants, or wash the dog.
You can quickly and easily pressurize the 2.9-gallon tank with a foot pump - and with occasional pumps you can keep it fully pressurized for 5-7 minutes of strong, continuous spray. The tank cannot be over-inflated. Set the black tank in the sun to warm up gradually, or fill it directly with hot water for a warm shower.
Refill Helio anywhere, even without a hose. The 7-foot neoprene hose is long enough to hold it overhead for a shower, or to reach all angles of dirty gear, muddy paws, or salty wetsuits. Pair with Heliopolis privacy shelter, which has a fitted nozzle holder for hands-free overhead showering, for the ultimate home-away-from-home shower in the backcountry.
