I bought one of these white lights at a boat store, and I've now used it camping to illuminate cords, entrances and exits on trailst to the tent, and I use it at night by my door when I'm out on the patio. Just bought 6 for my dad, a senior, who complains he can't see at night to get to the bathroom etc. He can keep one on the floor by the bed to illuminate his walking path, he can put one by the bathroom door to illuminate the hall, he can do whatever he wants to make his way more easily.

Twisting the back section counterclock to unlock is virtually impossible - won't describe all the craft and tools ... & Herculean strength I tried that with - yet unsuccesful. What I finally did was insert a butter knife in between the back and front surfaces and gentle pried them apart. It took a little effort, but it did work. However, after the 1st removal, you actually do reattach it by mating the two pieces slightly off center and twist clockwies to close. After you opened and closed them several times, then and only then, will it actually open up with a counter clockwise trist. NEXT: WOW: I did a test and the light (on constant rather than blinking lasted 27 hours. At 1st so very much prighter than those sticklights you bend & shake to illuminate. Of course, about the 13th hour it was noticibly less bright but was still bright enough to be adequate, and remained bright enough for car emergency use until just about the end at 27 hours. Tested the blinking and it was very adequate through virtually the entire period. It is certainly waterproof and it does float - both even after I had opened and closed it several times, and tested the floating and water proofing for a 7-hour test. Wast entirely dry when I yet again opened it (although the batteries by now were spent prior to the water test.) THis is a great item to have in you car, let it blink on the dash board, or sarry with you while walking to safety along road, or just keep you feeling orientated in a car until a tow truck arrives.

Use a towel both ends and twist opposite. Its a bit tight id imagine cause the seal allows you to drop in the water. Would be nice if you could add a recharge port.

Same as the last reviewer. Tried many different ways to open product, but can?t do it. Was hoping to replace batteries and reuse. Packaging says you can replace batteries. There are arrows on the bottom showing which way to turn to open, but I even used a plumber?s wrench and couldn?t get it to budge. Otherwise, a really cool product. Just need to figure out the one glitch.
