Great daybag / EDC pack

Bought this about a month ago and received it ion the mail after a few weeks. Sizing online was on point, and YouTube video showing how to adjust the bag was a great help. So far been using it as an everyday bag with great success. Holds lunch, PT gear, water, laptop and booboo kit with no issues. The tri-zip is a great way to get at anything in the bag, and the inner mesh pockets help a lot with organization of smaller things. Also took this on a few hikes already and loving it. It holds everything I need for a day hike, and I'm sure I could cram a few days' worth of camping into it if I kept it light. Love the bag so far, just wish it had keepers on the shoulder straps, but aftermarket velcro straps work. At least the ends of all adjustment straps are looped, so it's an easy Quality of Life add-on. My last daybag lasted me 11 years over mountains, desert, jungles, city across 3 continents, so I've got high hopes for this one.

Love it. Had it several weeks. Carry it everyday. They only issue I have is with the zippers. they work but they are not easy. I wish they worked easier. Other than that I love it.

Excellent bag

I bought this bag for short car trips (2-3) days. It is proving to be almost exactly what I was looking for. EDC items, plus iPad and clothing for outdoor oriented trips. Will probably buy the 3 day assault for 5 day trips or when more gear is needed. Retiring my 5.11 that just had too many pockets.

Everything I needed

I purchased this a month ago after comparing almost every brand that offered a product for everyday use and for a carry on. I wanted something rugged that I could use for multiple purposes. It needed to small enough to use as a carryon to travel with and rugged enough to use for hiking or hunting if needed. I chose the 2 Day pack and used packing cubes for clothes, toiletries, and extras. I was able to get 2 medium cubes and 2 small ones packed with 1 cube for a pair Hey Dude shoes. I flew to Denver used it as a carry on. The 2 Day compartments on top I placed my phone, charging cords, ear pods, keys, and snacks. I used the shoulder straps with ease and was very comfortable. The backpack did everything I needed it for and would recommend it anyone wanting the versatility. with some extra room still available. The 2 Day pack was full and Inmight could have taken my Ipad pro in the lap top compartme

Great for EDC and Outdoor Daytrips

I was in need of a pack that could be used to carry a laptop, books, etc for office work but then could easily be used to guide an outdoor day trip. I have used this pack for a month now doing just that and it has worked perfectly. I also used it to travel internationally and it worked great for me. I used it as my carry-on. I placed it in the overhead compartment because I had no room for my feet when it was under the seat in front of me. The brain has two zip pockets which are great for carrying your "quick to get" items. The two long "bottle pockets" on the inside are great too but if you pack them full it fills most of the space within the pack. The two internal zip pockets are bigger in size and when full, are still out of the way. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the external pouches. They appear to be designed for 32oz bottles but unless you attach your bottle with a carabiner the bottles will fall out. The pack is comfortable to carry all day when used with the chest strap and waist belt. You can easily remove both as I did this for the international flight. FYI, Some international flights wanted me to gate check my bag due to full flights. Because I knew they were doing this and due to me wanting to keep my bag because my laptop was inside, I used the cinch straps (external compression with clips) to make my bag smaller. As I was passing through the line they stopped me to look at my bag. They shared that they thought the bag was bigger than that, and let me go on through. I share this because I almost bought the MR pack that didn't have the Molle webbing with compression straps or external pockets but I am glad I didn't. I wanted those features and it still worked. If you are looking for a pack you can carry around town through the week and within the wilderness for a weekend, this pack is for you.

Good pack for the money, but missing some things.

This is an awesome pack for the money, it has the Y-zipper that Mystery Ranch is known for and the build quality is excellent. My only two complaints are these: 1. It does not come with a padded waist strap 2. It does not come with strap keepers built into the pack This used to be normal, sure, but nowadays even lower end packs have these two features, and it feels like cheaping out to lack them on a pack like this, especially from such a highly renowned brand as Mystery Ranch.

Solid Go-Bag

Purchased this from a retailer needing a ?go-bag? that I could trust. Like a lot of us, I like to keep a bag ready to go in case of emergencies, natural disasters, etc. and I carry mine quite often when I?m on the road. I haven?t had this long enough to tell everyone it will last forever and your days of backpack searching are over. However, I can honestly say, being a gear guy, I?m 100 times for confident in this bag after having it 2 weeks than I ever have been with any other bag EVER. The quality of the workmanship is ridiculously good. My father, being a bit of a Scrooge sometimes, almost threw up when he asked what I paid for it (which I didnt think was unreasonable). We went on a trip together, and he texted me this morning to say his 2DAP came in today. Super solid bag - Buy it.

Great lightweight option Backpacking/Deployment

This pack is an excellent option for Deployment, Backpacking and Trekking. For anyone who just thinks this is strictly an EDC bag is mistaken or didn?t pack right. Not to offend anyone. Obviously everyone has their own uses in regards to what a pack should be and fulfill their needs. I have been running the 2 Day Assault for over a year now. It is durable, withstood everything I or mother nature threw at it, packed everything I needed and nothing I didn't. I utilize First Spear Summit Bags in it to keep it well organized, identifiable and packed nicely. Had plenty of room in my top lid to pack in admin stuff, spare M4 magazines, Maps, Petzl Gloves, Cleaning Kit and Boo Boo kit. Main Compartment held a 4S Sleeping Bag, 3S Tent, WWP Jacket, Spare Crye Combat Set, Mid & Base Layerings, Socks, Undergarments, 30ft Static Rope, Climbing Carabiners/Figure 8 1.5L Qore Ice Plate/Water, IFAK, Snacks (Clif, Jerky, Tuna/Salmon Sleeves and a water filter. Multiple other trinkets, mission based essentials.

Great EDC

I purchased this pack about two years ago, as a paramedic student, and have brought it with me into the field. I use it everyday to carry everything from water and snacks to laptops, books, clothes, and just about anything that will fit into it. The tri-zip opening was something I didn?t really see myself needing, but now that I have it I don?t think I could live without it. I frequently find myself attempting to locate that once cord or piece of equipment that has migrated to the bottom of the bag and the tri-zip has made all the difference. I sewed a strap with a one hand triple action connector to the top handle and that has made it a dream to hook to the head rest on most vehicles, or a variety of webbing In all sorts of ambulances. I work in a medium sized city and we are seldom light on equipment, and the 2 day assault has held up better than just about anything else. I absolutely love the pack and have recommended it to several friends. The size is just about perfect for my use and I love the oversized compression straps which allow me to strap a variety of bulky jackets to it. The inner compartments also hold a reflective vest perfectly.

A great bag for daily use

Bought this bag about 6 months ago, and use it most days just for running errands around town. Also works great to carry my 16" Macbook Pro and all accessory drives, etc when needed. The size is perfect for general use. All the internal pockets really help to keep everything well organized, and I also added a couple accessory pockets with the MOLLE webbing on the outside of the pack, to keep important items in reach without having to get into the main compartment of the bag.

I did not expect this !

This is the first Mystery Ranch backpack that I have in my possession, and I am totally satisfied with the backpack. I had done an extended amount of research on the Mystery Ranch backpacks, and I could not decide which one to invest in. After a few weeks of deliberating, this 2DAP was given to me as a present, and it has been the best present thus far. The 2DAP has exceeded all of my expectations. I, still in High School, use it mainly as a school backpack. It has taken countless beatings on the daily travels, and it has held up. I usually carry about 2 32L Nalgenes, a computer, several books, notebooks, folders and more. I have more than enough space for ll of my school items, and there is still room for more. The sharp edges of the binders have yet to cause any wear on the bottom or sides of the bag, and the zippers have beautifully broken in due to the daily opening and closing. the computer sleeve comes in great handy, and the two pockets on the lid are unbeatable. They offer quick access to many misc things, and expanded more than they seem to hold. What really sold me on this bag was when I took it to Big Bend Nat'l Park, on a small backpacking trip. Although it is not meant for it, the bag held up over the 3 day hike, and it carried the load perfectly. This revealed to me the possible versatility of this bag and how proficient it is in many ways. Overall, I do recommend.

Good bag, but missing some key features.

I?ll start by saying I like this bag a lot and it?s really well made as you?d expect from MR. That being said, this bag is missing two key features. First, they need to make an update to include a true hip belt. The one that comes with it is absolutely worthless. This bag has enough space where it can get heavy enough to justify a proper hip belt. Second, there needs to be a hole to run a hydration bladder. A bag of this size should come standard with both of the missing features I mentioned. It doesn?t make sense for someone to load this is for a day hike and have the bag moving around because it lacks a proper hip belt. All of these features would make the pack more versatile and allow you to transition from EDC to a hiking day pack. I?d recommend the bag if you only want to travel back and forth to work or in the airport, but look elsewhere if you want a smaller day pack for hikes.

A Phenomenal Piece of Load-Bearing Equipment

Ever since I became a backpack junkie I've been constantly on the fence of getting into MR bags, had been hearing quite a few interesting stories about their packs and bags and I'm finally here. The 2-DAP is the first ever MR bag I've bought in my life and so far I'm genuinely satisfied with the overall design and build quality. Even with the manufacturing of this particular bag being outsourced to overseas, it's still really well-built and totally up MR standards. The main and the only compartment is quite spacious, the Tri-zip design makes accessing it a real breeze and there's definitely enough zip pockets for loose or small items. The laptop sleeve is a neat addition to this bag for more EDC-oriented utility but so far I've yet to put one in there, it looks rather thinly padded but should be adequate as long as you avoid dropping the bag or tossing it around when there's a Lappy in there. The adjustable Futura frame and yoke shoulder straps are highly ergonomic and makes the bag super comfortable to carry on my back all day long. All things considered this is the best feature I've found on this bag. For me nothing else on a backpack matters more than weight distribution and MR did an excellent job with their ingenious design. My only complaints are the carry handle which is just a simple nylon strap sewn into the bag and that there's no way to tidy up the excess straps which is scattered all over this bag. The former hasn't been much of an issue for me as the strap for the carry handle is firmly sewn in place and doesn't feel like it's gonna break off any time soon with my current 5-ish kg load. The latter bothered me a lot but it's actually a pretty quick fix with any type of strap keeper you can find, though I still wish MR could make those come with the bag since they're quite cheap and shouldn't jack up the overall price as much. Although it's advertised as an EDC bag, it's actually rugged enough for outdoor use, which is one of the reasons I picked it up. I'm planning on using it as my primary all-around backpack for school, travel and a wide range of outdoor activities. The 2-DAP so far have been performing admirably for me and hopefully it'll still be going strong for the rest of the time when I need it. MR has truly blown me away with the 2-DAP and now I'm eager to give a shot at their other bags such as the 3-DAP I'm currently saving up for. All in all, I highly recommend the 2-DAP for both EDC and outdoor use. In reality it's far more versatile than what MR advertises it for.

Awesome Bag with Multiple Uses

I bought this pack about a month ago and it is awesome. It has a ton of uses from civilian to the field. I have been using to carry my items for work and its great. It easily fits a Macbook and iPad in the padded compartment and still has a ton of room. It is well made and has a ton of different ways to access the items inside the bag. If you are looking for a versatile low vis backpack that can be used in a variety of situations, this is the pack for you!

Perfect assault pack

Bought this for the purpose of an assault pack replacement as I frequently do 10-15 mile hikes with an asip, camelback, and emergency supplies (FSO in light infantry division. My problem was the issued assault pack was killing my back and biting into my shoulders. This pack displaces weight an supports my lower hack and hips perfectly. With 20-30 lbs, i can comfortably walk any distance, and use the pack for tactical movements onto an objective. The pack straps work well to secure items inside if your pack isn?t full to keep weight from jostling around, but also has plenty of space for equipment. Outside has molle as well, and the outside pockets are great for storing food or equipment. I also have a kelty 32 liter that was almost twice as much and while i love the kelty, the mystery ranch 3 zipper system makes it much easier to get things out quickly, and the interior pockets (it has 4) make it easy to find things at night. My only complaint is I wish this pack had an antenna slot exactly like what is on the 3 day. It does have a zipper on the back left side, but the positioning and the way an asip is made makes it ver difficult to thread an asip antenna into that zipper.

Solid!

I've had this pack for a few weeks now, and I've been nothing but happy with its quality and functionality. I'd been using the Scree for a couple of years, so there was some getting used to a new configuration, but I'd been enjoying the bag. Computer access is great, and it holds everything I need for a day, with room to spare.

Brilliant quality, Goldilocks size, for EDC&trip.

I just got the black version(L/XL from a retailer. the bag has a quality feel to it. The padding on the shoulder straps are nice and thick compared to some of their other lower priced packs. It's a nice offering between the ASAP and 3-day assault pack with just the right amount of storage. Here are some initial observations. I will be taking this pack out on my next trip at the end of the month and will update this review after the trip. Pros: 1) Excellent build quality. Materials, zippers, s...

Perfect Size for my EDC needs!

By Jake

I've always carried an EDC bag in this size but last year I'd gone to lugging to much stuff around so to break myself of that I bought a Street Fighter and carried it for a year. It really helped me learn what I needed and what I didnt. I'd been on the prowl for a new bag and the 2DAP fits the bill perfectly. Charging brick, meds, electrolyte powder, change of clothes essentials, spare mags, knife, small dry bag, keys, pens, spare holster is my basic loadout. Well without being too clunky all...
