Did I forget to pack a tent? It sure felt like it! The CR1 is crazy light! My backpack felt empty! I'm 5'8", so it seemed roomy to me. My 40 liter backpack and shoes fit easily under the vestibule. The first night sleeping in it was 38-degrees and calm. So the vestibule was closed as it could be with the hook-and-loop closures and velcro. This led to condensation under the rainfly. The next few nights were warmer, so I left one vestibule wing open for air flow. This prevented condensation build up. Everyone complains about the carbon-fiber poles being fragile. So, I really took my time and paid attention to the poles during set up/take down. I handled and treated the CR1 with kid gloves. To MSR, maybe add some small aluminum or carbon-fiber sleeves which come with your other tents for in-field pole repair? Backpackers, if you're rough on your gear, you might opt for the MSR Hubba with aluminum poles. But if you're looking for an ultralight, one-person tent and have the patience to handle the lightweight carbon-fiber poles with the utmost care, then the Carbon-Reflex 1 is a solid investment for a backcountry shelter.
