Winter Camping in Humid Environment

I had so much trouble with the standard pump camping in the winter around Lake Superior. The standard pump would fail to pump below 10F due to the humidity / rubber gasket. Had this happen on multiple trips with multiple stoves at the same time. The Artic pump solved this issue. This is a super dependable pump for cold weather in humid environments. I've been using it for 4 years now in the winter around Lake Superior with no issues. I do put vaseline on the leather pump cup and not the provided oil as it pumps better. Love this piece of kit for the cold weather, nothing better. Base in the image is American Metal Crafters 8" pizza pan (75g). Shout out to MSR customer service for helping me solve this issue and being awesome!

Those of us headed to extreme environments know that few things work as intended when it's 30 below. This handy fuel pump was specifically engineered to be used in temperatures below freezing, and features extra-robust seals that prevent fuel leaks in arctic conditions. It works with all the MSR liquid fuel stoves (except for the Dragonfly stove) and is field maintainable.
