Theresa D : Need an instruction sheet for two man eureka timberline tent, any one know where I can get these instructions? I seem to be missing a part. ThanksJANE A : Hi, me again. Just had a thought about what you may be missing. There are two short (about six inches) plastic pieces that the tent poles connect to. They are shaped like a short legged "T" with three holes for the poles to go into. You will have a difficult time indeed with out them. They are marked in raised letters, "top right side" which is helpful because the holes are angled. I think they are just called connectors. Good luck.It really is a good tent.JANE A : What a great tent ! I have had 2, and do not have an instruction sheet. My guess is the part you may be missing is one or both of the single short poles that support the rain fly over the top of the door and window. They are about 10 to 12 inches long, and are not attached with elastic cord like the others. They simply fit onto the ends of the roof ridge pole. There is a small hook on the ends of the rain fly that goes into the opening of those short poles. The hooks hold the poles in place. I love this tent. It has always kept me dry, has great ventilation, it's even a good winter camp tent. The poles don't break, and I can set it up in total darkness in minutes. Hope the short pole info helps.JOSEPH H : Just google timberline 2 replacement parts. Check eureka site also for directions.THOMAS M : Google Eureka Timberline 2 instructions. Look at Auburn University Outdoor Programs PDF link.THOMAS M : manualsonline website has link to instructions for Eureka tents
Raisa K : Already own tent. Looking for ground cloth which goes along it. Please email me info. Do you carry such a thing? Thanks Raisa KachevskySCOTT P : We have many tents that came with a dedicated footprint, but have not found one for the timberline. This is an excellent tent. We cut our own out of thick plastic sheeting. (It must be slightly less than the size of the tent floor to keep rain from pooling). If we cut another today we would use tyvek material in lieu of plastic. It makes a great ground cloth. If you can't find a piece from a local builder supply, look on eBay.ROBERT F : They are available. Hear they are flimsy though. Would cut a small, tarp to fit it. Preferably heavy duty unless you are counting ounces... May chop up an old tarp for my new one. Never used a ground cloth with my old one- tough tent. Be careful not to make it too big that it collects water...STEPHEN M : I just bought a plastic tarp and cut it to size. If you cut it an inch shorter than the tent floor all the way round there is less risk of rain water streaming under the test floor.
Shopper : We just bought the Eureka Timberline 2 Tent second hand and have no instructions. Can anyone tell us what the two rings on top of the rain fly used for?STEPHEN M : They are for lashing down the tent in case of a bad storm. In the manufacturer's instructions, if you are looking at the tent from the side, they recommend running a cord from the left-hand fly ring all the way to the right, and staking it out a foot or so straight out from the right corner of the tent floor. Do the same with the right-hand fly ring, staking it out near the left hand corner of the tent floor (the cords will cross in the center of the tent wall). Repeat on the opposite side of the tent.

What a GREAT TENT!

Used regularly for 42+ years. Severe wind, rain, & snow. No problems. Easy pitch. I was looking to see if they were still in production. YES! Because it works well! I may want another, just in case.

Fantastic

This is a very good tent. It was easy to put up and take down. The big windows make catching a breeze pretty easy. The zippers work nicely.

Excellent Tent

I used this tent in the Scouts. If set up properly, it can handle all sorts of extreme weather: thunderstorms, high winds, snow. It is sturdy. Easy to set up. Simple to roll. Lasts forever. Perfect choice for recreational camping. Make sure the tent is bone dry before storing. Best when used with a heavy ground tarp. Not for backpacking.

love the original eureka timberline

I have had two of these over the last 30 years. I have camped up to 8 months at a time, even through winter. It has always kept me dry, and even though the body is nylon, it has excellent ventilation from being able to roll back the door and open a window, even in (most) rain. It's super easy to put up, and I like the strong aluminum poles. I have tried other tents with fiberglass poles, which break, fray, or split.. I want to buy another one as a gift. Great price, too.

wonderful choice

This was a great choice for my son for his first boy scout tent... he loves the room, and the fact that it doesn't sweat inside like the cheaper tents. It's a little tougher to put up than some tents, but the quality is a huge step up from inexpensive ones. We'll keep this tent for years. It's not a great backpacking tent, too heavy, but could easily be split between two hikers to save weight. It does require a tarp underneath, unlike cheaper tents, to protect the bottom. And you should seam seal it, as recommended.

great tent, love the classsic design

great tent. i found out last weekend(first time its rained here in forever and iv only had this tent a month) that when its raining you can unzip the windows as long as the fly is on and there is slow to mild winds. very classic and proven design, id like to see more people out in the bush with this rent. and dudes out there ladys love the A-frame design over a dome. my buds and i did a survey with our tents haha and they dig the A-frame. so get one and buy it here because its much cheaper on this site.

Great Tent

I have used this tent for 10 years now. Really easy and quick to set up. More importantly, it is extremely sturdy in a severe storm, and will keep you dry. Whatever tent you buy be sure to get one that has a rain fly that covers the whole tent. You can pay hundreds of dollars more for tents with lightweight fiberglass or plastic poles. These poles will break unexpectedly within 2-3 years. Their advantage is that they are a LITTLE lighter in weight. If you want a good reliable tent, go with the Eureka Timberline 2. You will thank yourself you did. When you're in it in the midst of a windy heavy rainstorm in the middle of the night, you'll never know it because you slept peacefully through it. Just an after thought. I recommend the 2 man tent be used by 1 man, with gear put inside. The same tent can be used by boyfriend/girlfriend, any gear left outside. If you want to sleep two people with some room inside for gear, go for the Eureka Timberline 4 Man tent.

Best tent overall

I have traveled the country for years by motorcycle. This tent has kept me dry and comfortable in all my travels. I have to admit, because of the aluminum support poles the whole tent package is a LITTLE heavier. But the ease and quick setup, and sturdiness of the tent more than makes up for the SLIGHT weight difference. Many times I have camped next campers using more expensive fiber pole tents with less than covering rain flys. Comments include: we woke up wet in the middle of the night, the wind was blowing and the flapping of the tent kept us up nearly all night. Plus the fact, the fiber tent pole campers tell me that after 2-3 years the fiber poles dry out and break during setup and windy conditions. I love my Eureka Timberline 2 tent after all these years of camping. If it didn't do the job keeping me dry and comfortable I would have searched out another tent that did a looooong time ago. You find something better, let me know. BTW: Because I travel and camp by motorcycle, I eliminated the Eureka Timberline 2 stuff bag. I pack the tent into a Thermarest pack bag which is 4 to 5 inches shorter, and 2-3 inches narrower than the original stuff bag. Once again, this tent is an overall winner by me.

BUY THIS TENT!

I bought this tent in 1987 and still have it. It has never failed me, what so ever. I lived in it at various time's in my younger day's, and once for 2 month's in colorado, in the spring with all the rain and cold, it still would not fail. It literally sat in about 2-3 inches of water for over 7 days and never once leaked. It is a little heavy for hiking with, even though i have. It's best for car camping. If you are thinking of buying this tent, stop thinking and just buy it. It will be one of the best purchases of your life.

Can't go wrong

Bought a Eureka Timberline 2 tent 32 years ago. Just purchased my second one. My old one finally started to loose some of the waterproof coating from the floor after decades of sometimes hard useage with no ground cloth. Could recoat it if I wanted to with some sealer but prefer a new one. Never got wet inside this tent. There are many good tents on the market nowadays but unless you plan on some serious Winter use in very adverse conditions, it's hard to beat this classic with the available vestibule.
