Jacket is ultralight without a doubt and packs into its own pocket which is nice, can be clipped to your pack or harness. Great for taking a spare layer when you might encounter showers. I wouldn't use it as a layer when you know it's gonna be a wet one and you need to stay dry, but it's a nice backup, just-in-case piece when you're not likely to need it. Fabric is obviously thin so unlikely to take a severe beating, treat it appropriately. I love it for that specific purpose. Water will seep through in a prolonged downpour. I went with a small, 5'8, 160. depends on layering; I can still fit light layer under in addition to baselayer easily.

I bought this from Sunny Sports with high expectation since it is so lightweight and thin so I can easily place it in my backpack for everyday use. But after a heavy rainy morning on my way to work, the water penetrated the inside and soaked when arriving at my office.

Used the jacket on a 2 night trip into the backcountry. We left the vehicle in rain walked 8 miles to our campsite. Set up our tent and was completely dry. Put on a puffy for the evening as the temp was close to freezing worked great. the next morning we woke to snow and the jacket kept me warm with my puffy underneath. Nice lightweight piece goes well with my ultra light gear setup. One other amazing thing was the jacket self cleaned itself, after a full weekend in the bush it looked brand new when I got back to my vehicle.
