Hiking through a serene woodland is one way to see the wonders of world, while trekking to a lofty summit is another. But what if you could go even higher? Paraglider Antoine Girard did just that this summer when he took a record-breaking flight above the top of Broad Peak in the Karakoram mountain range in the Himalayas.

Flying with wind power alone, Girard launched his paraglider from high up on the mountain side, from 21,325 feet. Then, thanks to thermal uplift, he soared even higher than the 26,414-foot summit of this towering peak. As you’ll see from his reaction in this video, the experience was pretty exhilarating.
