We all know by now that careless human activity, like littering, is not only socially unacceptable, but has a direct impact on the beauty and health of our natural ecosystems. However, there are many human activities that directly contribute to environmental degradation without us ever seeing it in the process. These primarily include chemicals that we use in our everyday lives, such as pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and cleansing agents. While our waste water treatment facilities work diligently at removing harmful pollutants, an abundance of them slip through the cracks, which then have devastating effects on wildlife and ecosystems that can be many miles from the origin of the pollutants. This footage shows just a few ways that human activity adversely impacts our natural environment.
