Visitors to this spectacular nature preserve can experience a wide range of exciting and intriguing activities. The Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center features state-of-the art natural history exhibits, a relief map of the park, and an introductory video produced by the Discovery Channel in the adjacent 154-seat auditorium. The Colter Bay Visitor Center and Indian Art Museum displays a collection of Native American artifacts and artwork. It also hosts interesting craft demonstrations and other interactive programs. The exhibits inside the Jenny Lake Visitor Center highlight the geological history of the park that boasts alpine scenery, towering peaks, clear lakes, and rushing streams.

The spectacular scenery is on full display whether visitors are soaring high above the landscape in a hot air balloon, rafting the Snake River, or exploring a nature trail on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. In addition to the majestic mountain backdrop, guests can view colorful wildflowers, such as the low larkspur, and a wide array of animals. The park is home to nesting and migratory birds like the trumpeter swan and the calliope hummingbird, the largest and smallest birds in North America respectively. Other inhabitants include elk, bison, wolves, and bears. There are a number of park ranger-led programs offered throughout the year, including nature hikes, slide shows, and children’s activities.

The jagged granite spires of Grand Teton National Park are a popular mountaineering destination. Park lakes provide various opportunities for sailing, water skiing, and wind surfing, and brimming with all species of trout, the mountain streams are an angler’s delight.
