Looking for the perfect camping gear for your loved ones this holiday season? Cas Sheridan shares his favorite picks for the camper in your life.

Exped MegaMat Max 15 Long Extra Wide
Exped sleeping pads have always been my go-to while on the road. This one is perfect for two and provides a comfortable sleep throughout the night. It is larger than most pads but it is worth it for the long weeks of travel. I’ve used this pad all over, from 10-day road trips through Iceland to weekend winter getaways this pad always seems to outperform my expectations.

The North Face Junction Insulated Jacket for Men
This insulated jacket is perfect for travel on the road — and an essential camping gear item. Once the sun drops it is always nice to have this comfy jacket handy. This Jacket is lightweight but still keeps you warm. I have worn this jacket in every condition from cold nights to snowy winter afternoons, it always does the job.

K3 10 Liter Pro-Tech Dry Bag Black
In the back of my car I always have a dry bag handy because you never know when you’ll need it. My main use for the bag is to throw a camera and lens in there when I’m on a kayak or paddleboard. It is always nice knowing my gear will be safe.

Danner Vertigo 917 GTX Hiking Boots for Men 8 Light Brown
Danner has been my go-to boot over the years. The quality leather, stylish looks, and 100% waterproofing is hard to beat. I have put these boots through all kinds of conditions and have never had a bad thing to say about them. I know I will continue wearing Danners for years to come.

Goal Zero Yeti 200X Portable Power Station
This Goal Zero is a new addition to my camping setup and one that’s been a total game-changer. I mainly use this for charging my phone at night or editing photos camp side. The 200x has Plenty of juice for 4-day campouts and I haven’t come close to running out of power.

Jetboil Genesis 2 Burner Stove
For the past few years, I have used a traditional stove while camping until I saw the Genesis 2 come out. This burner is a perfect all-in-one camp system that folds down allowing more space for other gear on the road. The fuel regulator is also a nice add-on and can boil in under three minutes from my tests.

Osprey Aether 65L Backpack for Men Black Small/Medium
When backpacking my biggest issue has always been comfort. The Osprey Aether 65L is a great system allowing you to pack all the needed items for an overnight adventure. It’s a bit on the heavy side but it really does well at carrying and distributing weight.

Helinox Chair One
Seating is always needed while camping and this Helinox Chair is perfect camping gear. This chair has been used for many adventures; from on the road editing sessions to midnight talks around the fire. This chair is effortless to pack, lightweight, and easy to assemble. Definitely worth it while on the road.

Ruffwear Float Coat Dog Life Jacket Wave Orange
Last but not least is the Ruffwear Float Coat. I purchased this last year for our dog Finn and it has been used on many of our water-bound trips to make sure he’s safe. Even though he’s a great swimmer, we like having the peace of mind that he’s got something to rely on. My favorite part about this coat is the coloring, it makes it easy to spot him in a lake, river, or even on a hike if he’s off-leash.
