Maine has no shortage of beautiful places in nature to hike, bike, and camp, but one that should not be missed is the Beehive Trail of Acadia National Park. Located on Maine’s Mount Desert Island, his enormous rocky outcropping sits 520 feet above sea level, towering over lush green forests and meadows that give way to sandy beaches and the glimmering expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. The trek up the Beehive Trail is described as strenuous, and due to the many narrow ledges and steep grades, it can be intimidating. With caution, however, even kids can hike the Beehive, and your efforts will be treated with some of the most stunning vistas on the Eastern seaboard. This video is a great example of what you can expect to see and do at the Beehive of Acadia National Park.
