Otters are known for their playful nature, but when it comes to protecting their young, they don’t mess around. Giant river otters live in the Amazon and are cousins to the river otters of North America. These large mammals can grow up to 6 feet long and weigh in at 70 pounds. They have sleek, dark fur and an almost panther-like face.

Social animals, they live in groups of about 10 and everyone shares in the hunting duties. They also have something of a babysitting co-op, with the whole group keeping an eye on the little ones. Watch what happens when a hungry caiman sets his sights on the playful otter cubs. Who will win the batter of the otter and the caiman? The outcome may surprise you!
