Baja California Peninsula feature

Although most people consider much of Mexico to be a dry, hot desert land, it is actually home to many different types of climates and geography. One of the most beautiful examples of this is Sierra de la Laguna, found on Baja California Peninsula. Many of the plant and animals species found here are endemic, as the southern tip of the peninsula, including the mountain range, was once an island. Forests of pine and oak trees can be found at various elevations, along with the requisite swaying palm jungles, and the area is designated as a world biosphere reserve for its unique array of differing ecosystems. This video shows some of the highlights of Mexico’s Islands of the Sky.
