Camping in yurts is a hot new trend sweeping across North America and Europe. It has been compared to a cross between a tent and a cabin, and is ideal for families with small children. Below are just five great reasons to try yurt camping this year!
1. Light packing
You don’t have to bring nearly as much equipment when camping in a yurt. Since it is furnished you don’t have to bring all your inflatable mattresses though you do need to bring your own bedding. The heater is built in, so there is no need to bring your own if you’re camping in the winter months. Yurts are perfect for a quick weekend camping trip. As soon as school is out and everyone is off work, you can head to the campgrounds without worrying that you will be setting up a tent in the dark.
2. Realism
Yurts are made of a wooden frame and canvas, so you can still listen to night sounds as you go to sleep.
3. Inexpensive.
Yurt camping is usually inexpensive depending on the location. Yurt camping is usually less expensive than cabin camping, but more expensive than tent camping.
4. Locking door.
The locking door is an extra amount of security.
5. Great winter option
With a toddler or other small children, it is easier than a tent. There’s much more room for the little ones to explore and walk around. Naptime and bedtime can be a lot easier in the comfort of a tent.
