Spending all day in the woods can get tiring, and you’ll need plenty of carbohydrates, protein, and sugars to keep your body energized. Try these super easy camping snack recipes to keep hunger at bay throughout your camping trip!
Easy Trail Mix

This camping snack is the perfect blend of sweet and salty and can be made at home or on the road. Mix a cup of roasted peanuts with a cup of M&Ms. Add a cup of cashews and a cup of sunflower seeds. Add one cup of dried fruit, like dried cherries or cranberries to the mixture. Store in a large Ziploc bag or divvy up the mixture into smaller plastic bags. You can put these in your pocket during a long hike or snack on them back at the campsite.
Homemade Energy Bar

Before your camping trip, make a large batch of these bars to keep you energized throughout your whole trip. Add a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and one-half cup of rolled oats to a food processor. Blend until smooth. Pour in a can of black beans, two eggs and a tablespoon of coconut oil. Add water if the mixture becomes too thick. In another bowl, mix the chocolate, oat and bean mixture with a cup of pistachios. Pour onto a baking sheet that you’ve lined with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Allow the pan to cool before cutting the bars into single-serving pieces. Pack in foil or individual plastic bags to bring on your trip.
Power Protein Pack

One of the best camping snacks is so easy, you’ll want to enjoy it at home—not just on the campsite. In a plastic bag, add a handful of nuts. In another plastic snack bag, add one large beef jerky stick or a handful of beef jerky pieces. In another bag, add a handful of M&Ms. Put all your small plastic snack bags into one large Ziploc bag. Add a piece of pasteurized string cheese or pasteurized single-serving cheese into the bag. The pasteurized kind of cheese will stay fresh longer than unpasteurized kinds. This should keep you energized and warding off hunger pains all day long.
