RV travel is something people work their whole lives to get to experience, whether it’s a cross-country tour of all the US states, or simply communing with nature in one state. The Pacific Northwest is loaded with RV campgrounds, offering travelers unlimited options for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and meeting like-minded people along the way. There are too many to list in one article, so here are 5 of the most awesome RV campgrounds you’ll find in the Pacific Northwest.

1. Birch Bay State Park – Washington

Birch Bay State Park is touted as one of the best RV campgrounds. The park spreads over 194 acres and contains extensive salt and fresh water shorelines. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains while staying in one of the many campsites. There are only 20 sites with electrical and water hookups, so it is wise to make a reservation. However, there are public restroom and shower facilities throughout the park.

2. Sequim Bay State Park – Washington

Sequim Bay State Park is a smaller park that offers many activities for campers. Located inside Puget Sound, the bay provides calm waters for boating. Beachcombers will enjoy the extensive sandy shoreline while hikers can explore the Olympic Discovery Trail. This park also provides public restrooms and showers. There are 15 sites with utility hookups, but they only accommodate RVs that are up to 30 feet in length.

3. Cape Disappointment – Washington

Cape Disappointment is the largest of the parks with over 1,882 acres, two miles of saltwater shoreline, two lighthouse parks, a nature center and extensive hiking trails. There are 78 sites with utility hookups. The public restrooms and showers offer wheelchair accessible facilities.

4. Beverly State Park – Oregon

Beverly State Park offers beach camping at its best. RV campers can choose either one of the 53 full hookup sites or 75 electrical only sites. The park includes an extensive saltwater shoreline surrounded by a beautiful forest. This provides campers with an endless variety of outdoor activities.

5. Bullards Beach State Park – Oregon

Bullards Beach State Park offers horseback riding on the sand dunes and fishing on the river as part of its family-oriented campground. This park is the most RV friendly. It offers 95 electrical sites that can accommodate RVs up to 64 feet, as well as 90 full utility sites. Visit the area’s lighthouse, built in 1896, for a historical angle on your RV adventure.
