I've owned a couple of these little lights over 20 years, and they are nice. They fit in a BC pocket easily so they make a nice back up light. I also have one in my vehicle because it's a good waterproof flashlight. This is a super alternative to a mag light.

USED INITIALLY AS A BACK UP;LIGHT, BUT WAS BRIGHTER THAN MY PRIMARY. LIKED IT SO MUCH THAT I BOUGHT A 2ND TO USE WITH MY CAMERA FOR VIDEO.

Great light! Bright, lasts a long time, does not flood. Very reliable. I have had numerous lights these are the best to strap onto my mask for night and cave diving.

i love the size of this lite & the cost is low , but some batteries do not work well with this product.duracell seems to work the best, wont turn on with some brands.sometimes even with duracell i must smack the lite to get it to turn on.this is just a backup lite, mostly daytime diver so its not that important to me. by the way LED version is useless.

Easy way to always have a light with you and easy way to add some lumens for the really dark holes.

I purchased two Q40 lights for night snorkeling. The small size and reasonable price influenced my decision. The lights have proven themselves as quite reliable, waterproof, reasonably bright, and amazing battery life. The only semi-con I can think of is a relatively focused beam...this focused beam is actually a plus for true close up observation, but does limit overall lighting when trying to illuminate areas more than approximately 20 feet away. All in all, a super product.

DO NOT MOUNT THIS WITH THE GIVEN RUBBER STRAP. If you do, the beam will point to the right of your field of view and you will be straining and/or pointing your face to the left just so you can see what's in front of you. Rather, make use of the plastic rings in front of the light to zip tie to the strap mount point of your mask. This is a swivel peice of plastic that joins the strap to the mask itself. If you mount it this way: - The mount point is naturally angled in such a way to put the beam of light directly in the center of your field of view - Twisting or moving the light will not flood your mask Use at least two sets of zip ties to ensure you will not lose the light. Do not overtighten the zip ties or else they may break when the light is twisted. Leaving a slight play in the zip ties allows you to adjust the light up or down (the mask junction rotates slightly when you pull the light up or down).

Pictured on-line with a hand strap, but sold with a mask strap. Picture should indicate the item you are buying. If not in picture then in description.

I like having the light next to my face mask. Really lights up the immediate area.

Product was not as pictured, did not come with a wrist strap. I would really like to have the wrist strap.

Great light. I take this light on every dive both scuba diving and freediving and have found it to be an extremely reliable light (and I've gone through a lot of lights) It's bright and small and the batteries last a long time. For night diving I use this a my back-up light.

I always recommend and teach to carry a light (not just on night dives). this is an excellent choice.

Very bright light; good size; had to buy lanyard separately since one was not included; need to have a pencil or something similar to ensure batteries are loaded correctly.

Plenty bright and good to look around in nooks and cranneys. not bright enough for night diving but a good back up for night diving. worked great 1st time out. have not used enough to know the long term durability.

It worked great for what I wanted which was a close up focus light for my camera in tight places. I did not like the lanyard though. It was difficult to adjust.

Light and easy to carry. Turns on and off with a quick twist, making use simple.

I just took it to Bonaire and it did fine. One thing, if you only loosen the lens enough for the light to go out and take it deep, the pressure will make it come on. When you turn it off, turn it an extra 1/4 turn.

Said water resistant to 500 ft. - no way to test it there, but it worked great at 100 ft w/o leaking. Nice narrow beam, great for illuminating under rocks or in holes, or if you just need an emergency light. Well built and rugged, too.

Small, simple backup light, I use it mainly as a focus light for underwater night photography, attached to my mask with the optional mask strap.

Compact with good focused beam. Much brighter than my Princeton Tec 40 light and it is more compact. I was surprised at the brightness of this little light. It feels very heavy duty, nothing shakes around in the light. I use and abuse this light, heavy gear smacks it around in the gear bags and I don't worry about it breaking at all. This light is NOT a primary light, but makes a good backup or attach 1 or 2 of them to your mask. silicone snorkel rings fit this light perfect. Don't buy the optional smask clips they are such a rip off, there's no reason why the clips should be the same price as the light.

perfect as a back up light - must have for night dives, nice to have for day dives

The only thing I don't like, is to turn it off you have to rotate the head counterclockwise and clockwise to turn it on. I found the light on in my BC after a dive and it had twisted itself on.
