These youth snowshoes are perfect for our 4 1/2yr old grandson! He was a champ when we took him out on Christmas day to tromp around the forest in the Indian Peaks Wilderness in CO. He does have poles (and I would recommend them when in deep snow) and he was able to lead the pack in fairly deep snow. It was a great start for this outdoor-loving family's grandson.

The snowflakes are perfect for toddlers. They are light and easy to put on. My son got use to them right away and he had a lot of fun! Great family fun!

We helped our lightweight three year old granddaughter into these with ease (We put the boots into the bindings first and she stepped into the boots). She went outside and spent about two minutes figuring out where to put her feet and then she went farther and farther, never sinking in and walking perfectly. She was entertained by the patterns they made on the snow and found them easy to use. They are light, colorful and attractive. In addition, they are really fine in functioning as proper snowshoes in deep snow. The lack of a hinge is actually a plus for small children who would drag them if they were to flop. The lack of crampons on the bottom is good for safety and she had plenty of grip.

I bought these for my two year-old at the same time that I bought another model of Tubbs snowshoes for her older brother and sister. She tried them on for the first time today and was able to walk in them with a little help. She had a tendency to step on them but that doesn't worry me as the snowshoes are intended for children 3-6 years old and she's still a little young. She will be able to enjoy them for the next couple of years. The shoes are relatively easy to put on and take off and they seem to be attached securely. The only thing that bothers me is that I don't understand how the little red arrows work to indicate left and right. Do the arrows have to point towards each other or towards the outside. I wish that was written somewhere in the instructions (there weren't any!).

This is a great pair of introductory snowshoes for 3 to 6 year olds. They are uncomplicated with few parts to break. The bindings hold on well to my sons Sorel style boots. He loves being able to tromp around and not sink into the snow in the yard and on the trails around here. However, my 4 year old had a full on meltdown the first time we came in from outside and realized over half of the stickers had fallen off. They really don't stick to the deck well, even inside. I would suggest to other parents they use the stickers as a craft project or something related to snowshoeing instead of putting them on the snowshoes.

I wanted to introduce snowshoeing to my 5yr old, so I bought these. He only weighs about 35lbs...so with gear less than 50lbs. The bindings are simple in design. The snowshoes are very light and seem to be strong enough for our cold Canadian temperatures. I only gave 4 stars out of 5 because I don't like the bindings very much.
