Perfect multi-use pads!!

These original RidgeRest Classic Sleeping Pads are very handy to have around. I use them all the time at home, inside and outside, and on the road, as exercise pads, and when working on my knees, or on my back working under my cars. Very durable. Excellent product. PLEASE RESUME SELLING THE SMALL SIZE!!! My oldest pads (see photos) 20" x 49" black on one side grey on the other are just perfect for my usage.

Good for army.

For when you need something bomb proof that has no possibility of letting you down. Serves its purpose perfectly. Not the most advanced or comfortable pad out there but if you want to travel hard and fast and not worry about holes or deflation , give this a try.

Indispensable !!!

I have 2 Ridgerest pads. I use one as extra comfort on top of my yoga mat. Purchased 10 yrs ago Can't live without it!!!!! Use it daily. Pure pleasure. I use the 2nd one, purchased 2 yrs. ago, for comfort, lying on the stone deck of an outdoor pool in the summer. I do not allow it to get wet. I also use one as cushioning to do ankle/leg balance exercises for rehab after a broken ankle. One constructive criticism, the first mat, bought 10 years ago, is shorter than the newer mat. I much prefer the shorter one. Fabulous investment. Joy in my life.

This is my second pad,

This is my second pad, my first is still in the mix after many thousand miles ,but more importantly countless short day hikes which turned into overnighters. I own at least three or four of the latest and greatest mattress pads but as I pack for for my next trek I always grab my pad. I know what to expect and have confidence that I will get a good nights sleep. Since I have been hiking I never used anything but my pad, not counting the old insulate pad from days gone bye.

Owned one before and liked

Owned one before and liked it but have evolved to a big agnes q core deluxe pad however im doing a 242 mile river trip in october and wanted a back up pad should the q core pad experience issues. I have repair kits, but having the ridgerest pad there in addition gives me of mind that no matter what, im protected from the hard cold ground.

Too hard

The size is great, and I'm almost 6', but the sleeping pad is hard. The hard surface combined with ridges makes it even more uncomfortable than if it were smooth. I would have preferred a softer version.

Prefer older, shorter version

I have had your almost identical Ridgerest mat for about 5 years. I adore everything about it. I use it for yoga/meditation/stretching at home. The new mat is about 6-8 inches longer. Prefer the shorter one.

Excellent all-purpose use

I love these old school RidgeRest Classic's. I keep them in my cars, and my shed, and around the house. Any time I have to get down on my knees or look under my car or exercise on the floor / ground. They do the trick. My only disappointment is that they were only offered in the largest size when I purchased recently. For my purposes, the old medium size was perfect. I plan to cut these down but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Solid pad

Love this pad so much. It's perfect width and density for a good nights sleep. A bit bulky, but unless your an ultralight camper, it's great for many needs

Great Value for the Price!

I bought the RidgeRest Classic for a camping trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I had been using a backpacking inflatable (small) sleeping pad from another company. This pad kept deflating during the night and got holes in it too easily. I needed a pad that would not get holes in it and could survive if my three year old and 18 month old children decided to be monkeys in the tent. The RidgeRest Classic seems light and rolls up nicely into a compact shape for packing. It is made from a material that can withstand rugged conditions but is also comfortable for sleeping.

Was able to use it 3 times until it blew away in a high wind never to return! (True Story). Insulated very well when I had it. Most likely will buy another.

The original and still one

The original and still one of the best. Low weight, retains warmth in cold places as a sit, bench, first aid or sleep pad and serves as a safety net at night if your inflatable sags. Third one in over 30 years. Not the sexiest but reliable and virtually indestructible. Retains warmth and full function even when ravaged.

Nice and wide and comfortable.

Great as a light weight, dirt simple pad for camping or star gazing from the bed of the truck. Very comfortable for such a basic sleep pad. Only 2 recommendations for improvement. 1: Make this thing fold up accordion style instead of rolling. 2: Since it does come rolled up, include some kind of retaining strap to keep it rolled up.

Lasts forever

I bought one of these about 40 years ago (I think) and use it every day for doing exercises and stretching. Back in the day I used it for camping and found it very comfortable. After all this time there if feels just fine. Maybe I'll put it in my will.

I've had the same one for over 20 years.

This is my FAVORITE camping pad for backpacking. I like how I can't pop it and how it isn't slippery and how it's warm and has enough padding for backpacking. I got mine over 20 years ago & used it literally every night for years. I've also used various self-inflating mattresses which don't last long and are very slippery. I like how you can toss this pad in a briar patch or a blueberry patch or any pokey thicket and have an instant comfy place to sit. Admittedly, mine's full of holes, but it's just as comfy. I also cut the ends off one desperate day on a long dirt road in the middle of a desert when the tire on my bike trailer was so thin that it offered zero protection to the tube within. I stuffed the worn out tire with the ends of the Thermarest— no easy task— then taped them back on the pad with ductape when I got to a place where I could get a new tube & tire. Now that I'm an old lady & I'm just car camping, I use a three-inch foam pad, but that's just not feasible for backpacking.

Lightweight, durable and cheap

I've had my Ridgerest for over twenty years and it has kept me comfortable backpacking around three continents. I just bought one for my daughter and she loves hers too. Yes, it is bulkier than other pads, but it it light, fast to pull out, and easily straps to your pack. Those other pads pack down better, but they get holes and never could last as long as my Ridgerest.

Whether your going hiking or backyard camping, this extremely low maintenance sleeping pad is a great addition to your camping gear. With this pad, you don't have to worry giving it a little abuse in the trail because you know it will hold up to whatever is thrown its way.
