This is a great hunting pack for both archery and rifle, and supports backpacking hunts up to a week. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for my son.

I live on a remote island in SE AK. The pack is used for blacktail deer hunting in the alpine and thick old growth timber. I travel by truck, boat and canoe while hunting. The pack performs well, is big enough to pack out meat, but not so big as to be awkward in thick timber. The quality is excellent, and it is very comfortable to wear all day.

Hard to beat for the cost. Durable and fairly ligh t. Tons of room and enough pockets for organizing. The lid fits a little weird and how the back panel buckles up I wasn't a fan of, but a great pack of you're on a budget. Comfortable even with 60+ lbs in it.

I purchased this backpack for a specific trip that I haven?t taken yet so no field test data but it seems to have the specs I was looking for.

This is for the most part a perfect pack for hunting it?s got everything u need - has a water bladder compartment, separate spotting scope compartment, meat hauling shelf, fully adjustable lumbar and shoulder strap, extra compartments on belt and lid, compression straps everywhere and comes with a rifle holder. For the price u can?t beat it. Negatives - would like to have seen some instructions on adjusting the lumbar and using the overall pack. The shoulder straps are not as thick as some of the more expensive brands. Overall love the pack! Highly recommended

Used this pack during a week-long backpacking/elk hunting trip in Colorado, where we got hit with a snowstorm and teens to twenties temperatures. Obviously, I had to pack accordingly, and this pack performed perfectly. The rifle holder and side pockets are amazing, as they allow you quick access to whatever you need. As a former Army officer who?s logged hundreds of miles of ruck marches, I?m very picky about packs. I can say that hiking numerous miles in and out of the woods with ~60 lbs of gear in this pack, including steep elevation changes, this pack is the best I?ve carried. Only small complaint is I wish it was a little bigger, but that?s nothing against this pack. If you only need 65L of room, this pack is perfect.

This item arrived on time and after an overhaul of the entire pack, I discovered that this thing is made out of some fantastic materials. The pictures do not do it justice. I do not know why you would spend over twice this much on another pack. I just do not think you would get much more for twice the price. Cannot say it enough. Great Pack

This thing does it all, comfortably too. Wether it's hauling gear on a backpacking trip or hauling meat after a successful hunt this pack will do it without chafing you up. Highly recommend.

Comfortable and lightweight pack that punches outside of it's weight class $$ wise. No need in my opinion to reach for those $400 and over packs when you can get one at half the price in the Deadfall 65. good pocket layout and adjustability in waste belt, load lifters, and shoulder yoke. Handled 30 lbs of backpacking and shed hunting supplies very nicely recently while putting 15 miles on it. Good construction and value. Very pleased with my purchase!

My son loves it, it?s fully adjustable in almost every way, multiple storage pockets to keep gear organized and with the molle webbing attachment points it is extremely customizable for what ever season is in. The ability to carry a bow or gun with this pack is a wonderful addition. This is a well built and reliable pack by far and I?m sure will last for many years to come.

This pack is great. Works really well each pocket and storage compartment is well thought out. I?m a bow hunter so being able to attach bow on the pack was great.

Love everything about this pack except on vital thing. The shoulder straps lack in padding and in my opinion are too narrow making this pack uncomfortable with a heavy load. Bought this pack last season (2019) and am already looking for a new one.

First hunt will be a horseback bull elk hunt in eastern Nevada this winter. So far this pack seems like it?s beyond perfect. Almost bought a kifaru but for the price this pack seems just as good

I still love my Bounty 4500 pack, but for weekend overnight trips this is my new favorite. It has just enough room for 2-4 days in the backcountry, and isn't too big. The new wing side pockets are ideal for my tripod and spotting scope, and easy to get to even when loaded up with gear. My favorite feature about the pack is the top pocket that can be unbuckled and flipped up to access inside the bag. Very well done SJK. Absolutely love this!

We loved the Bounty 4500, but for day trips it was too much and bulky. This pack is the perfect combination of a day pack and also has the room for extended backpacking trips. Also, it works well for packing meat because of the integrated aluminum support on the back. This fall we had a hind quarter and front quarter off of a 340" rocky mtn bull on one pack with no issues, except the person packing it was a little exhausted after the pack. Great pack for the money! HIGHLY SUGGESTED.

I bought this to give to my son for Christmas. I have one that I used this Fall on a deer and on an elk hunt. It is versatile, comfortable, and easy to expand from a day pack to a pack frame. It worked out great for a variety of uses this Fall.

Purchased this for a western mule deer hunt. This pack performed flawlessly. We packed out 3 deer with this pack and it was the preferred pack for the job. Easy to use. Only wish it had a couple more compartments to store gear separately. Would definitely buy again.

Used this pack on a 10 day Backcountry Elk Hunt in CO. Performed flawlessly. Was fortunate enough to pack out a cow and handled the meat well. Overtime I had to retighten the straps but that is to be expected. Highly recommend.

I used this for first and second season elk hunts in Colorado. My wife got her first bull elk in first season and this pack handled the pack out great. It was great as a day pack carrying everything you needed and expanding when you wanted it. The pack is light and comfortable. I would highly recommend it!

So far I have only used it once, but very happy with how it performed. With a decent load the pack felt great on my shoulders and waist. The design is great and very user friendly. Such an awesome pack at a price that doesn?t hurt the soul.

This pack did great on my 6 day elk hunt in Idaho. I am not a huge fan of the thin straps but that can be fixed. I also will look for a pack that I can open from the front instead of digging around for what I need. If neither of those are a big deal for you, I reccomend it!

I bought this for an elk hunt in Idaho and it's awesome! I love the available adjustments, number of pockets, and just the general way it's put together. After 24+ years of using military alice packs and other backpacks, this thing is outstanding. So far I've only loaded it up to about 55lbs of various weights to high around and get acclimated to rucking with a pack again and get into shape for the trip, but the pack itself has caused zero discomfort. Google an adjustment video to see how to properly fit the pack and keep the weight on your hips/legs and you're good to go!

This is my first backcountry pack, but I would say it?s a Cadillac! I?ve loaded it up to 80lbs and gone on several longer hikes preparing for the ?19 season, and it bares the weight perfectly and balances between your hips and shoulders, I have a fused spine from a vehicle accident and I feel zero pressure in my lower back at the end of a hump from the pack. There is more than enough room to easily pack all your gear and 3-5 days of food if you pack smart, and all of the stichings and buckles...

Elevate Your Load
Slumberjack wanted to elevate their meat hauling packs to the next level. The Deadfall pack is the culmination of serious product design, field research and good old fashion gear abuse. They wanted a sturdy pack that could haul out a serious load yet compressible enough for those minimal load days spent hiking ridge lines and exploring new territory. Slumberjack took great care in designing the wings to accommodate your optics, scopes etc and that the front load flaps were versatile enough to securely hold awkwardly shaped items, while still being streamlined. Incorporating Slumberjack's tried and true dual aluminum stay frame and adjustable torso suspension, you are sure to get the perfect fit - no matter the load.
