This is a great easy to use filter. Coming from the pump filter world, the gravity flow filter is an awesome upgrade. Light weigh is a plus.

I have the 4 L and it worked very well even in the BWCAW where there is often fine particulate in the water that clogs pump type filters and accelerates the need to change filters. I like the gravity feed because there are no moving parts/o-rings that might need replacing. I also like the fact that the 4 L unfiltered water reservoir is enough to put out a small campfire. I haven?t tried it but the unfiltered reservoir can also be filled, set in the sun and a few hours later hung in a tree and you can have a semi warm ?shower?. The flow did slow enough to be noticeable over the course of a week of use so I?d give it 4.5/stars (not an option in the review). I purchased the 2 liter as a gift for a friend.

Purchased this for a four day backpacking trip in the Porcupine Mountains, and it worked great. Filling the dirty bag was a cinch and clean water filtered through quickly.

Used this again recently on remote area of Kodiak island traveling overland hunting. every ounce of weight I had with me was carefully thought out and critical. I could only carry so much. This is by far the best filter I have had. You can put it in your pack and carrier in country that has ample water in ponds rivers and lakes. Carrying water in any volume always seemed crazy to me but time and effort to get water filtered was always a problem. Now when you?re thirsty you can just stop by a stream, hang it up and in a few minutes you have enough water to drink for the next couple hours Or a meal. The only place where water weight does any good for you it?s in your belly. The kit weighs almost nothing and effort to get water filtered is also close to zero. One thing to be careful of is keeping the kit together. One downside is losing bit of it can make it non-functional. If you lose the collection bag, cabs, tubing, filter etc. the whole thing becomes non-functional. I quickly attached all items that were small and loose to the containers with a bit of parachute cord. This helps keep everything together. I learned this lesson by losing one of the proprietary caps on a previous filter. Hope this helps

Just fill the bag and hang it, easiest system ever. Filtered water from stagnant puddles on the mountain with no problems.

Inspired to buy this after pump filter not ideal when source was a trickle. Used it on Colorado Trail and in Big Bend and saved time compared to other systems.

I love this water system. Very reliable and well constructed. Probably going to buy a bigger dirty bag soon to keep for base camp. My only slight gripe is that the bag it comes in is slightly too small but it's not that biga deal.

Worked as expected. Great for filtering large quantities of water while in camp after a long day on the trail.

I use this when backpacking - used to use a pump, but the gravity system is so much easier!

I got this kit as a gift after years of using a pump and I'm amazed at how fast this system is. The light weight and field maintainability are huge bonuses. The filter flows extremely fast and outputs nice clean water. Plus it's made the USA, which is always a plus. Highly recommended.

Could not recommend enough! Great filter- easy to use and very fast. The weight of the kit is great- especially if you only bring the nozzle attachment that you're planning on using. Was nervous about keeping the bags clean from getting grimy, but after getting back from trips they were easy to clean. Will probably buy another one just to have two for big groups. 5/5

Unit has been working well - three trips now. Seems to deal with dirty/brown water just fine. Was worried that it would clog, but not so far. Rio Chama, run off at Navajo Mountain and the Colorado'r water have all filtered just fine.

Loved this filter, very quick and easy. You can ditch the clean bag, to save weight and use included adapters to refill your hydration pack, any platy bottle or even other bottles such as nalgene or smart water bottles.

I used this on a traverse along the Northern shores and saddles of the Grand Canyon. It is an awesome system when you can take a break while filtering 2-3 liters of water. On a day where there was no access to water I used both reservoirs to stock up on water as our trek would be long, hot, and dry. Unfortunately the fucca yucca stabbed the dirty reservoir as I walked through the tanto so I need to repair it (any pro tips?), but at least it was half way down so I could still carry a liter later that day once we hit the spring by carrying the reservoir by the webbing handle.

After years of dealing with various pumps, stelilizing pens, iodine tablets, carrying extra fuel for long boils, I took the plunge and splurged on the Gravityworks 2.0L system. Actually gave it to my husband for Father's Day, but I'm the one who uses it. Why did it take me so long! This system is so easy to use, almost foolproof, and reliable. Just 2 things need fixing. 1. I am rarely able to seal the water collection bag, especially after numbing my fingers when filling the bag in a cold stream. The bag should have a different closure system because if it isn't sealed the clean water bag fills with air. 2. Originally all the parts came out of the storage bag, but they never all fit back in. Please make the storage bag a bit bigger to accommodate a hastily stowed kit out in the field, not under ideal lab conditions.

This is the first filter system I've tried having used chemical treatment previously and I'm really impressed! I took it on a weekend trip and was delighted with the relative ease of use, weight of the system and speed. The clean reservoir makes a great water bottle in its own right which is a nice bonus However. Beware if you have hypermobile/weak fingers :( I found it very difficult to close the dirty bag seal completely and kept filling the system with air I would give 5 stars if the seal had something like the hard plastic zip top on the hydration bladders to assist with closure. But that's certainly not a problem everyone would have..and at least it's not a hand pump!

This filter is definitely the way to go for me! I like being able to fill up my bottles at the source and then carry the dirty water bag back to camp which avoids multiple trips down to the stream/pond. Back flushing is a breeze compared to other products out there. Quickly filters the water. I am going to get the add on carbon filter and see if it makes a difference when I have to use a water source that is high in tannic acid (see attached photo). But that's mainly for aesthetics. I will frequently leave the clean water bag at home and just use the bottle adaptor. I highly recommend this! My only issue is the fact that the filter can't be frozen which limits it's use on the fringe seasons and I'm not putting it into my sleeping bag with me to stay warm.

Just got done backpacking in the Ozarks and this filtration system worked swimmingly. Water sources were nil until day two and so when it only took roughly 10 min (set up included) to refill 8 liters of water, we were grateful! Plus it took yellowish pool water and made it crystal clear - a much more refreshing hue. Lastly, having the extra water carriers was helpful since water sources were so limited...heavy but once we had our fill they packed down to nothing. ***practice product before use in field

Amazing product. Amazingly easy to use and works quickly. Lightweight and small footprint. I run into people using the same product on the trail all the time and everyone has nothing but good things to say. I would buy this product again

I have used a pump type filter for years, and became frustrated with another company's version more than a year ago. Your gravity filtration system is so much better than the manual pump system. It's lighter, just as efficient, so the time saved can be spent doing other things besides taking care of water needs.

I use this for filtering water for groups up to 4 people on overnight trips. It is quick and easy! You do need a good running water source- good luck filling the dirty bag from a trickle! I also like to use this on long bike rides or long day hikes when I know I will be passing by reliable water sources so I don't have to carry upwards of two liters at a time! Works great.
