Excellent 3-Season Tent - Highly Recommended! Rating: ????? (5/5 stars) I purchased the Nemo Dragonfly 3 directly from the Nemo website and have been thoroughly impressed with this tent after several camping trips. Here's my detailed review: Setup and Design The Dragonfly 3 sets up incredibly quickly and intuitively. The color-coded poles and clips make assembly a breeze, even in low light conditions. I was able to get it pitched in under 10 minutes on my first try. The freestanding design is a huge plus when camping on rocky or hard-packed surfaces where staking can be challenging. Weather Protection This tent has handled everything I've thrown at it so far. During a recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, we experienced heavy rain overnight, and I stayed completely dry. The rainfly provides excellent coverage, and the vestibules offer great gear storage space. The ventilation system works well too - minimal condensation even in humid conditions. Space and Comfort The interior space is well-designed for three people, though I primarily use it for two adults and find it quite spacious. The vertical walls maximize usable space, and the peak height allows for comfortable sitting. The two doors are fantastic for easy entry/exit without disturbing tent mates. Build Quality The materials feel premium and durable. The zippers operate smoothly, the fabric seems robust, and all the hardware appears well-made. After multiple uses and pack-downs, everything still looks and functions like new. Value While it's an investment, the Dragonfly 3 delivers excellent value for a high-quality 3-season tent. The thoughtful design details, weather performance, and build quality justify the price point. Bottom Line The Nemo Dragonfly 3 has become my go-to tent for car camping and short backpacking trips. It strikes an excellent balance between livability, weather protection, and ease of use. I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone looking for a reliable 3-person shelter. Would I buy again? Absolutely. Would I recommend to friends? Already have!

Well thought out tent! Very quick to setup and take down. Has plenty of room inside and I find more useful features every time I use it! Packs down small and is lightweight. The floor space is large enough for two people with sleeping pads and their backpacks inside.

I have the 1p version of this tent and it works great for solo backpacking. Packs down super small with the divy cube stuff sack (you can remove the poles and the rest packs down to the size of 2ish nalgenes) which is great for stuffing in your pack instead of strapping it to the outside. Good weather resistance, though you definitely need the guylines in windy conditions as the tent will collapse without them (ask me how I know). Pockets work well with a small phone pocket at your head and a larger pocket at the feet to stuff your socks or layers in. Overhead headlamp pocket also works great and provides nice light. Vestibule is sizable enough for a pack and shoes, though I do wish it had the gear tub like the bikepacking version (nemo sell it as an addon??). The tent is also pretty light considering it is freestanding and sizable. This isn't an ultralight trekking pole tent weighing a pound, but is about as light as it gets for a freestanding tent. The tent also includes some nice stakes so you're all set to go when it arrives! I'd recommend getting the footprint for it as well, definitely worth the little extra weight to keep your gear lasting a long time.

I get frustrated when I read reviews where folks have used equipment for a weekend. I am a wilderness canoe trip guide so my equipment gets a ton of use in a wide variety of conditions. So far I have used my 2 P Dragonfly OSMO for 3 trips totalling 25 days. I love its weight and compact size and the layout is great for me and my pup. I think it would be tight for 2 people. The fly does not go to the ground on the ends which resulted in a wet floor and footprint during 2 separate thunderstorms. I like its materials and construction and so far it's resilient and holding up well.

I just spent my first night in my new Dragonfly Osmo. As expected, this is a very lightweight well-made tent. I love how well thought out the spacing is and I really like the external covered gear storage when the Rain fly is on. As many of you probably already know from your experience with other tents, In my opinion, this "2-,man" tent is really comfortable for one full grown adult male. It is big enough for 2 if you or your companion are smaller or 1 or both are kids. But I slept very comfortably solo in this one.

Easy to set up. Enough room for three people, plenty of room for 2. Lightweight for its size, and easy to split up among different people to share the load.

Set up this tent last night in the dark for the first time - easy peasy even without instructions. Super light and compact but still has some really cool features. Loved the two doors, big vestibules, and all the storage including the small headlamp thingys.

I bought the 3 person Dragonfly tent for backpacking. I'll use it primarily with two people, but I like the extra space and it is still unbelievably light. Great build quality. Thoughtful features. Very intuitive to setup with color-coded clips and straps. Big fan!

Love the OSMO fabric, it's light, doesn't sag, and keeps everything dry. The cut of the fly is unique, it allows for decent ventilation and hasn't let in any rain. The large storage pockets are really handy and I really prefer having them built in, unlike brands like BA that would be required me to purchase a gear loft. I feel confident that this tent is going to last a long time and I'm reassured by Nemo's reputation for good customer service and their strong warranty

I couldn't even tell you how many tents i've owned in my life. But I can certainly say this tent ranks right up there at the very top in terms of quality, function, ease of setup, and weight. I took this tent backpacking for three nights with my son, camped at 11,600' in patchy snow (high mountains still have some here in CO). I was impressed by how quick the setup was, both the tent itself, as well as the rainfly. All was very intuitive. I was impressed by the interior features that are always sorely needed - small mesh pouches for a headlamp to create a nightlight, and overhead mesh pouch for random items - each tucked away almost seamlessly into the interior design. The tent ventilated well, without being too windy - and it was windy and cold up there. Seemed to handle the wind well structurally - in that sole instance i give the wind nod to my hunting tent, but its a 4-season, and burly - and HEAVY. Carrying this tent to high-altitude dropped almost 4 pounds from my pack, compared to my "next best" tent i own. Just overall I couldn't recommend this tent enough. I'm looking forward to the next trip!

Excellent tent, lots of very thoughtful touches, very high-quality construction. Set up and take down is easy. I upgraded the stakes to the Nemo Airpins and glad I did. Like all backpacking tents, the carry bag is a tight fit; got a Near Zero 2P tent bag with clamshell opening. I previously used the Nemo Dagger and prefer this one, the sloped construction works fine and doesn't 'feel' like it is constrictive. Highly recommend this trail shelter!

This is a great do it all tent. Freestanding and roomy for one person. It's easy to set up and has creature comforts while being relatively light for a double walled freestanding tent. It's a staple in my gear library when I need confidence in my comfort and protection from the elements when I'm not comfortable relying on my more ultralight tarp/bivy setup.

I've used the 1p tent on two backpacking trips so far and have loved it each time. It is an excellent weight given all the features it has to offer. It felt very spacious for a single person and had perfectly placed pockets for gear. Vestibule was huge and had plenty of space to put gear to make sure they were dry overnight. Set up is super straightforward with a color coded system that took me less than 5 minutes to put together alone. Im obsessed with this tent

Excellent tent for backpacking. It has lots of well thought out details that help keep the weight down but keep things functional. It's the little details that made this stand out to me. lots of small pockets for things. the fit is just right for 2 people. and the vestibules are massive. Especially for the weight. Setup is more straightforward than other lightweight tents in its class.

I bought this a month ago, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I did set it up and test it out in the backyard, and from what I can tell it will be perfect for our needs. My wife and I wanted a little extra space for our two dogs, and this feels like the perfect fit. I'm pretty happy with the weight too. Very excited to get this out in the backcountry in the next month.

I wanted a tent with more room than a 2 person tent for those hot summer days. This tent has plenty of room for 2 wide sleep pads and gear. Easy to set up and pack up and the weight is amazing light for the amount of room.

Pros. This is the easiest tent I've owned to set up, taking maybe a minute or two total. It's lightweight, and plenty capable in any weather I would personally encounter. I usually sleep solo, so it's plenty roomy for myself and some gear. Cons. It's a little cozy for two people, (mainly because I toss and turn and take up an entire bed at home sometimes) but it definitely still works.

I bought this a few weeks ago and finally got to try it out on my first backpacking trip of the season. It's so lightweight, easy to set up and held up great in two nights of heavy rain. I enjoyed having all the internal pockets, especially the light pockets above my head. The vestibules are nice and large. I have the 2p, and it was just me in the tent on this trip, so it was very comfortable and roomy. 2 people would definitely fit ok, but it would be a tight squeeze. I definitely recommend using a guy line to stake out the rainfly on the shorter side. I think without that there might have been some leakage in the rain.

At 6ft5 I bought this tent for bot solo and 2 person trips. The tent is quite roomy with ample head room and plenty of length. I found features like the head light pockets thoughtfully designed. Storage inside the tent was also appreciated with plenty of room for stuff sacks changes of clothes and other essentials in the netting. Setup and teardown were simple enough with color coding and an intuitive pole structure. Plenty of space in the awnings. Handled a rain storm well and seem well built. Two tones of netting, pockets, and tinted headlight pockets were some of my favorite features.

Packs down SO small and it's so light weight. Lots of pockets on the inside - I put all of my stuff sacks in the ceiling pocket, great to have them all in the same place. Love the color The 2 person has plenty of room for myself and gear, it could defiantly sleep two - I have taken this tent on backpacking and car camping trips. It packs down SO small and easily. Gently rolling it up, it slides right in the cube. Very easy to set up and take down Drys quickly I can not wait to take this tent to Philmont with my Troop this summer.

I bought the 3 person tent, plenty roomy for me and my buddy. Still maintains a lower weight than many other 2 person tents while providing more room. The tent is well designed with plenty of storage. The only critique is the zippers occasionally catch fabric when unzipping with one hand.

Recently received the 1p Dragonfly Osmo and have a few nights with it. Im 6'1" tall, and mostly camp in central Texas. The set-up was super straightforward with the color coded poles. I enjoyed how the footprint was color coded as well and attached to the tent steak out points so folding it all up together was easier. You really need to use the guy lines when setting it up to keep the coverage on the higher cut out areas. There are lots of options on where/how to guy out the tent, though I did wish for a bit more guidance in how NEMO envisioned this to be set-up and why. While I did not encounter any wet weather yet, I feel like orientation is going to be vital in the rain and wind the way some cut-outs are raised on 2 sides. So I am being mindful about wind while picking a site/orientation. The air flow was good, did not have issues with condensation in the tent, but I did keep the door open, it was too warm to close it down at night. I use a wide/long sleeping pad and had no issues with space. I was super satisfied with the head height. The overhead storage was good for how I like to organize my space, and the light diffusing pocket was useful as well, even if it was as simple as I know where my light is when I wake up at night. I also liked how the stuff sack/poles can be separated easily and the stuff sack to roll down to fit the tent/fly on their own. The material feels "thin", but that is the point with the weight of the tent. No surprises there. It felt more robust then I was expecting particularly compared to some other tents I have seen in the weight class and to the touch it was more then I was expecting without being transparent.

I have been in the market for a long while to replace my two-decade-old 2-man backpacking tent. I reviewed many options across different brands, and kept coming back to this tent. The simplistic design is key for not battling setup in adverse weather. This tent is far lighter and more spacious than my previousk two man tent (yes I know, duh for a 20 year old tent). But the improvements are discernable, even across other tents I have used with friends, etc. I intend to use this tent mostly for moto-packing adventures. I love the height of the tent which provides a comfortable area to prepare for the days adventures. Also the spacious vestibules will serve that same purpose for dirty items like moto boots that I dont want in the tent. I love the simple yet efficient interior pocket areas as well. Gold star to Nemo for a great tent!

The Nemo OSMO Dragonfly 2P tent has performed great as a multi use tent. It has been on alpine backpacking trips, canoe adventures and at base camps. This tent handles it all, is well designed and roomy. It lives up to the quality I have grown to expect from Nemo. Well done!

This tent performed above and beyond my expectations. I am a 6'2" 270 lb Polish peasant and this tent had more than enough space for me. The generous vestibule handled all of my gear, the head room gave me ample space to sit up and I never felt cramped. The weather ranged from 35° with 98% humidity (basically, camping in a cloud) to 70° the next afternoon and rain the 2nd night. I was incredibly impressed with how well the tent vented. I had zero issues with condensation. I was also impressed by how well the rain fly held the heat. Unlike others, the wind driven rain never entered the tent (bathtub walls are fairly high) I suspect people didn't utilize the guy lines or perhaps oriented the tent poorly. I know it's not necessarily designed to set up and take down the tent inside the rain fly, but by using the ground sheet specifically built for the tent I was able to click it in (lots of patience!) I will regularly use this tent as a 3+ season shelter. I imagine its snow load will limit it's use but I look forward to putting it to the test! The Osmo material is true to the pre press - it doesn't shrink with repeated soaking and drying. Love love love this new bit of gear!

This is a great tent?.IF you camp when it isn't raining. I'm basically echoing what a lot of others have said unfortunately. The good is that it goes up easily (even for one person) and there's enough room for my husband and I. However, the one night we took it out and it rained it was horrible. It didn't even rain that much?a VERY tiny cell of rain. We woke up to lots of wetness having leaked through the head end where the cut out in the fly was. Pretty disappointed honestly. It's such an expensive tent and I expected a lot more! So now we have to look into a new tent bc this one can't be used in last minute rainy situations imo.

Finally got to use this tent this last weekend and I couldn't get over the design of this thing. Not just the overall tent but the features it has from the clips, to the poles, to the interior pockets. Everything had been throughly thought through during the design of this tent. Now I have the previous model "dragonfly 2" (not osmos) only difference being the fabric used I believe. Which if I had one thing to point out about the tent is the fabric on the floor is definitely thin, there's no way I'd feel comfortable using without a foot print. I'm curious if the "osmo" has a stronger floor than my previous model. I think I'm a Nemo customer for life though, after realizing the quality of this I now want see if Nemo makes as good of a sleeping pad as they do a tent. The tensor all season seems to have awesome reviews as well.

I have owned this tent for over 5 years. It has thousands of kilometers of travel on bicycles, in kayaks and motorcycle adventure touring. It has been setup from mountain tops to Death Valley, and in weather ranging from torrid rain to desert heat. This is an excellent tent. The tent is really bomb proof. It repels water very well while maintaining its light weight packability. The dual vestibules provide easy access from either side and tons of storage space for packs, panniers, or other gear you want out of view or out of the weather. The air flow is really good too. The fly can be off, partially open, or fully open to the zippered doors. The new OSMO fabric version has improved the fly flap hold-back, making it easier to secure and release (especially in the dark). The inside of the tent provides plenty of room to move about. It also has good storage pockets for your stuff, a nice loft in the top of the tent and a couple neat little light-diffusing holders above the head area that allows to tuck your head-light into them and light up the whole tent. The Dragonfly has lots of options to secure it down (helpful in strong winds or to keep the tent a fly tight in rain events). There is no better tent peg than NEMO peg. I have pounded a lot tent pegs and these are simply the best! I will provide a couple of comments that might be helpful to either the person considering the tent and for NEMO. First, I would suggest the optional footprint for the tent. While never an absolute requirement the footprint does provide just a little added protection for the floor of the tent. Second, the buyer will have to acquire a couple more tent pegs if they want to use all the securing guy line tie-downs. The third consideration is NEMO's Warranty. I had an issue with my first tent and they fully stood behind their product - absolutely without question. And finally, a comment to NEMO. The foot-end fly guy line is affixed to the fly at a point up the ridge pole. While this helps secure the structure of the tent it does not provide any relief of the fly from the base of the tent. So, with or without this guy line secured rain runs down the fly and onto the tent body rather than being directed away from the tent itself. Moving the attachment to the bottom edge of the fly would fix this. All in all I have never owned a better 2-person tent (including Moss, MSR, Mountain Equipment Coop, Kelty). Well done NEMO!!

I bought the one-person version of this tent and am very impressed. It is super lightweight, but much roomier than my old one-person tent. A major problem with my old tent was that when you rolled up parts of the rain fly to get in/out and let in light, the material sagged and wouldn't stay up. This tent is easy to have fully closed or to be partially open to let in starlight. Very happy with this purchase!
