You be thermoballin in this jacket. I had a year one version that was just worn out. Had to update with the new, definitely better quality. This piece is a work horse and so versatile since it's packable. I take it everywhere. I wear it out on the town to split boarding to a mid-layer on cold days, truly does it all. If you are outside a lot in different conditions this is a must have.

I would recommend going size down
The jacket is great it's warm and it's light but it's too big I had to ask before and I was too small so I ordered 2X again because the hood has the new feature as the pull strings and I ordered to ask and it's huge I don't know what they do to sizing but the last one was to ask a order about 2 years ago and it was slim fitting this one is way loose sitting and it's huge so you should order a size down really you should I'm disappointed and there is no more inside pocket with the zipper on it that I used to can't keep my cash in now there's like a pouch pocket on the bottom of the inside of a jacket it's no good.

The Sleeping Bag Jacket is Nice
1. The jacket is very light weight. 2. The jacket is very warm. 3. The jacket is very wind resistant. 4. The jacket is water resistant. 5. The jacket is stylish. 6. The jacket is comfortable. 7. The jacket is a great mid layer or outer layer depending on the weather. Wearing a tshirt and a wool sweater or a base thermal underwear top and this jacket over it has definitely kept me warm on windy cold nights. I've gotten rained on and water mostly didn't seep in. The trick is to not wipe the water off, but shake it off. Like a dog out of the shower. 8. My girlfriend likes the jacket too. She always wants to borrow this one out of all my jackets. Usually returns it with make up marks and other things. 9. The jacket washes clean every time. No stains. 10. But what I enjoy the most about this jacket is it feels like I'm wearing a sleeping bag for my upper body. It's cozy warm! It's a sleeping bag jacket. I'm 5'7" 160# Medium size fits good, maybe a tad big. 12. But the roominess help's mobility. I've worn this jacket snowboarding, biking around town bar hopping, waiting in long lines at Disneyland in the winter, skateboarding to the store, multi day camping trips, etc. 13. The jacket has zippers on the pockets. The chest pocket is on the inside next to the main zipper. Stealth. 14. I've owned this jacket for over 7 years and it's held up without any problems. So I'd say it deserves 5 stars.

This coat is worth buying for the price
This is one of the best coats I have owned. It is very versatile, and can be used for moderate to very cold weather. This is my favorite color that Northface has come out with in the thermo ball line.

nice, but not the best fit for climbers
The jacket is super nice materials (ultra light and warm), but the fit is tough. I'm tall and thin (climber build, 6'2", 160lbs), so the XL is too short and baggy. I gotta stick with the Summit Series stuff for it to fit me correctly.
