Used mainly for travel, so two aspects stand out. One, the shoulder straps are very comfortable and quite stable so the pack doesn't require a waist belt. Two, the pockets are very well thought out, realistically sized and intuitively laid out. You basically can access electronics or a book or docs without having to forage through the large main pocket. The pockets mostly have their own volume so they don't take away from the main pocket volume which is a big plus. Overall, as usual TNF did a nice job thinking practically and economically about the use case for this pack and came up with a winner. Note, it is a large pack, it can carry as much as some carry-ons, when fully loaded not all airlines will allow this as a "personal item"

This was a gift for my sister who is a teacher in grade school. She absolutely loved it. So many pockets and able to hold her large water in the side. Laptop area was well padded, and she did note the comfortable fit. Construction detail was perfect. No irregularities or crooked stitching. And she loves the color!

I bought this to replace my 15 year old Surge backpack which I used on a daily basis and traveled the globe (more on that below) I loved all the different pockets, I could easily find what I was looking for without the need for light. Everything has its proper place. Worth noting, my 15 year old backpack is in good condition, i suspect it has 15 more good years in it. Unfortunately it has taken on an odor I just can't get rid of although you can only smell it if you put your nose on the backpack. Anyway, it was annoying me so i went looking for a replacement. I was happy to see that the Surge is still around. My only negative comment is the lack of color selection. Light colors show dirt to easily (white?!?!?), and black is boring. Would have liked a bit more variety

I use this backpack to take my work laptop home with me two days a week. Unlike a lot of backpacks, there is a lot of padding on the shoulders to make it comfortable to wear. I had a LLBean backpack for years and the way my new backpack supports my stuff and my back/shoulders blows the LLBean one out of the water.

My best purchase. I carry this backpack to work. I get many compliments on it. It has all the room that need for my laptop, folders, notebooks, umbrella, and all the extras needed. Worth the price and the quality is exceptional.

I'm a teacher and I love this backpack! The expandable/collapsible aspect is a huge plus for me. I also love the padded laptop sleeve and the multitude of organizing pockets. I definitely recommend this pack and am excited to use it when I go back to school.

My daughter needed a larger backpack for high school after she overstuffed her middle school Northface backpack that was 20L and busted the zipper. I expected this to look huge at 31L, but it has ergonomic storage that fits a ton, but doesn't look bulky. So stylish with the rose gold details - totally worth a few more dollars with a picky high school teen. She loves all the pockets to organize. The design of the pockets are neat and easy to find your stuff. Northface quality with the look of fashionable brands. Well done Northface!
