I love the duality of this bag, whether it be for work, school, or even play - this bag has been through it all with me. It's such a great bag I bought my girlfriend one for her birthday because she loves my bag. I would recommend this bag to anyone needing something to stuff their school gear in, paperwork for work, or anything that is needed for a day hike or a weekend in the woods.

I like the fact that it has several compartments and I can put my laptop in the back pocket safely. The straps for the hips could be a bit thicker. It's also a bit heavy empty.

I really like the Borelis backpack as a 'replacement' for my 20+ yo north face backpack, but it is going to take sometime for me to transition completely. The borelis is slightly less flexible than the old one.

While the marketing for this backpack promises a stand-up design, the actual engineering fails to support that claim. The most significant issue is the internal back plate, which is slightly too long and extends past the bottom fabric at the base. This creates a "rocker" effect that tilts the pack forward, preventing the bottom from ever making full contact with the floor. The balance issues are further compounded by the "floating" side pockets. Because these pockets are not aligned to the bottom of the bag, any water bottles you carry act as hanging weight rather than stabilizing pillars. Furthermore, the lack of any rigid bottom structure means the backpack immediately collapses or falls over unless it is packed with specific, heavy items at the bottom to counter-balance the frame. This is made even worse by the placement of the small organizer compartment at the front top. When you place a phone or heavy accessories in that top-front pocket, it creates a top-heavy leverage point that further forces the back to tip over. Summarized: All these designs go against "stand-up" claim: 1. Extended back. 2. Soft bottom. 3. Floating side pockets. 4. Front-top storage.

I have had this backpack for something like 8 years and it is the first thing I reach for when traveling. This backpack has been the world over with me, and all around the US. I am a consultant, I am always traveling with my laptop. This backpack protects my laptop and it is easy to get it in and out of the backpack. I am able to pack a lot of stuff in the pack and use it as my "under-seat" carry-on for the airplane. I highly recommend this pack.

My first time trying this type(hiking) of backpacks. I really like all the pockets and space. I also really like its big. What I don't like is that hard part for the laptop. I feel that hard thing does not let the backpack be stretchy, cant fold and have to flip sideways when storing it in a wire rack. Other than That I really love my backpack, best investment because I can use for everything.
