Another product that can be used for its designed need. . . and can be repurposed as a sunglass leash, a cap holder and numerous other needs while in the backcountry.

Noticed that one of the
Noticed that one of the keepers on my approximately seven-year old MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoes had broken and (surprisingly the snowshoe came off just at the end of an hour-long descent) so after ordering these and a quick replacement process the snowshoes are again 'ready for action'. Thank you CD for having these available.

Excellent purchase and shipping experience-although MSR could do a much better job helping customer determine if these will actually fit their snowshoes (they did, fitting an older pair of Denalis that I recently purchased, but you would never know that from the website).
As to their build, they look to be quality plastic, but I won't really know until the snow falls and I get out into some sub-freezing temperatures

Keep those straps in check
My snowshoes didn't come with these and I didn't like the extra strap length flapping around. This is going to be a nice simple upgrade

A SAD STORY
Your large account wasn't doing anythinbg. I had to change this small program for the little clips and straps. I used the claps. I used ALL of the straps, and everything maybe would have worked even in Pennsylvania. But ALAS......the winter was cold but VERY VERY little snow. I had no way to use it. A couple of snows were VERY little. Only one in my area came in for about 6 inches, but we had a lot to do with shoveling with a 300 foot driveway. So straps and clips will have to wait until NEXT year.

How to keep straps contained
Here is the deal, snowshoes come with one small strap keeper, turned with the open side facing up. Naturally, the pressure from the snow you are walking on is upward, and soon your strap is flapping in the snow. What I did is put 3 strap keepers on each strap ? down, up and down. That way, they strap doesn't flop around. Hooray!!!

Good thing extra strap keepers are available as 1) the toe and heel straps on my older Evos kept slipping out of the one keeper provided so two on each strap prevent that (face each in opposite directions, one up, one down), and 2) the keepers will break if you try pulling the strap out the wrong direction.
The spare keepers, however, do not tightly grip the strap as did the original keepers so they slide back and forth on the strap and needed to be relocated to the proper positions every time you put the snowshoes on. That was pretty annoying until I used some small cable ties though the holes of the strap to hold the keepers in the right places.
