MSR Replacement Strap Clips

My snowshoes didn't come with these and I didn't like the extra strap length flapping around. This is going to be a nice simple upgrade

Your large account wasn't doing anythinbg. I had to change this small program for the little clips and straps. I used the claps. I used ALL of the straps, and everything maybe would have worked even in Pennsylvania. But ALAS......the winter was cold but VERY VERY little snow. I had no way to use it. A couple of snows were VERY little. Only one in my area came in for about 6 inches, but we had a lot to do with shoveling with a 300 foot driveway. So straps and clips will have to wait until NEXT year.

Here is the deal, snowshoes come with one small strap keeper, turned with the open side facing up. Naturally, the pressure from the snow you are walking on is upward, and soon your strap is flapping in the snow. What I did is put 3 strap keepers on each strap ? down, up and down. That way, they strap doesn't flop around. Hooray!!!

Good thing extra strap keepers are available as 1) the toe and heel straps on my older Evos kept slipping out of the one keeper provided so two on each strap prevent that (face each in opposite directions, one up, one down), and 2) the keepers will break if you try pulling the strap out the wrong direction. The spare keepers, however, do not tightly grip the strap as did the original keepers so they slide back and forth on the strap and needed to be relocated to the proper positions every time you put the snowshoes on. That was pretty annoying until I used some small cable ties though the holes of the strap to hold the keepers in the right places.

Product was purchased to replace a snowshoe strap keeper on a pair of MSR snowshoes. Quantity was sufficient to add a spare to every strap should another one break during use.

They are not exactly the same as the ones that came with the snowshoes. They are looser on the straps and tend to slide. They don?t stay in the position that they are put in but they do the job of keeping the strap from flapping.

Bought because I wanted to keep the long tails on the snowshoe binding straps(for ease of tightening) but did not like the long flapping straps for travel in the woods. They never caught but looked like an accident waiting to happen. These keepers provided the solution and am very happy w/them. These should come w/all snowshoe purchases that use the belt style bindings as are on my MSR's.

I bought these to have ?just in case? for my MSR Lightning Ascent snow shoes as MSR seems to be moving away from the strap style binding. I have used one of the clips and they fit perfectly.

Keepers are simple, strong, well made, and get their simple job done. I'm just getting a few more keepers so i can have _two_ on each straps, each facing the opposite direction, to securely trap the straps and prevent them from flopping over, and getting detached. It's a tiny bit more of a PITA to put on the shoes, but the binding should be a lot more secure, and my foot wont' slip off the shoe as i'm crossing an exposed slope... Re a previous commenter's "but I couldnt slide them onto my straps because my stripes [sic] are wider at the end and so would not fit in the slot..." -- pretty sure the keepers and straps are fine, but you need to take the straps off at the _other_ end, the one away from the buckle, and slide the keepers over from that end.

The Strap Keepers appeared fine on their own, but I couldnt slide them onto my straps because my stripes are wider at the end and so would not fit in the slot. Consequently, the keepers were unusable, but not worth returning. It is probably the fault of the strap manufacturers and not your company, but that doesnt help me much.
