Perhaps a bit bulkier than
Perhaps a bit bulkier than old school wire tent stakes, but quite a bit for durable and reliable in a variety of conditions. I picked these up to use with tarp shelters and to replace missing stakes in other tents and gear. In short, they work.

They hold up
I started the PCT in March with too few Groundhogs for my huge Durston (ordered a 6-count; maybe should have ordered double), added several more cheap no-name generics from CLEEF's hiker box which got me by. . . barely. The cheapies mostly did the job but all except one broke off, leaving me down to one of them plus my trusty Groundhogs when I reached Paradise Valley. There's an outfitters in Idyllwild so I stocked up! Unfortunately by that point it was too little too late since I ended up getting off trail there and going home, but they've been serving me well in the Columbia River Gorge.

They're great they do the
They're great they do the trick, easily slide into the ground compared to other stakes, which is nice. Especially if it's loose rocky ground instead of on dirt.

I keep 2 of these with my set of mini groundhog stakes. They are really only necessary in high load situations or very loose soil.

These stakes came highly recommended
These stakes came highly recommended from my buddy who is a manager at REI. I'm glad that I invested my hard earned moolah on these stakes. They are very strong, lightweight and stay in the ground very well. I've wasted my money on the cheap Chinese knockoffs sold on Amazon that either bend or break on first use. The Groundhog Stakes are absolutely worth the money! It's a worthwhile investment!

Excellent tent pegs - strong and great holding power
These pegs were replacements for the ones that came with my tent. They were far superior in holding power and strength (i.e.not bending). However, not sure how they will be in frozen ground . In the past I found round pegs were easier to remove from frozen ground much the easiest.
That said I'm very pleased with the groundhog stakes and recommend them highly.

Should be standard
Used these in varied climates and conditions. Worked really well. They should be the standard tent pegs instead of the regular ones that bend easily and pull out of the ground with ease.

Wow Amazing
Got them in on time and righ away decided to setup my tent in backyard and wow very impressed, the cheap mickey mouse stakes that was used prior could not hole the vestibules alwasy slid out, thes MSR grounhogs not only held both sides of the clips that hole the vestibule but felt like these stakes can hole everything mother nature will send its way; so yeah very impressed

Only stake for me
Used several Groundhog tent stakes this weekend in very cold and windy conditions. Placing them in the hard or soft ground and removing was fairly easy, probably easier than my buddy and his plastic and in style stakes, he even snapped one. I also appreciate the reflective string, which makes them easy to see at night when trying to take that late night relief.

The only stakes for me
Regardless of the surface they're going on, these are by far the best tent stakes I've ever used. Not the lightest but definitely the burliest. They do not move, even when the wind is whipping around and will keep the tent put.
