Overpriced mandatory purchase
Deducting 1 star because they're $11 for something that should have come with the bottle and probably costs $0. 20 to manufacture. Easy way to increase the cost of your fuel bottle by 50% and makes it feel like the bottles are being sold with the child resistant caps as a cash grab to make people buy these so their bottles will actually be safer and more reliable in an alpine environment. No reason for these to be so expensive when we've already paid for the fuel bottle.

Long time returning customer.
Excellent product. Completely leakproof, strong and sturdy. Msr fuel bottles are a great value and have never let me down. I love the simplicity of the expedition caps . My only gripe is that i have to buy the bottle with the annoying child proof caps and purchase the good ones at additional cost. Still tho, i consider the peace of mind of having leakproof spare fuel well worth it.

Much better than the stock cap. I bought one for each of my bottles and used them in a recent motocamping trip and they worked great. Much better then the childproof ones that came with the bottles.

Classic and Solid!
It is a fuel cap, not much to say. This is the older model and easier to use than the newer models that have a safety cap. I like the pour value and the ability to put a tent stake in the cap and twist it to open it! Great Item.

Great, I wish they came standard, or respectively, no cap at all with a buy your own adventure available. Way better then standard option in every single way. Smaller, lighter, substantially less prone to failure(not that I have ever broken one in many years of use of the child safe kind) but this one almost can?t break.

Works- This is why i ditched my primus omni
The main reason i switched over to msr is because primus doesn't offer these.... Childproof caps do work really well though....they leak so much, you'll never use them, and the children end up being safe...

Works great. I?m surprised they don?t have these on the fuel cans when you buy them. The childproof caps have too much going on that can fail out in the sticks. Worth the couple of bucks for sure.

Make it the standard!
This should be the default cap! Works perfectly, and is easy to manipulate even with gloves and cold hands. Childproof caps on the trail don?t make sense for most. Make them optional.
