This vest is extremely light weight, very thin and contains very little filler. Not recommended if you want to stay warm in any kind of cold. It is nothing like the old PR303 vest that was for use in sub zero temperatures.

This vest is great quality (as usual from Mountain Hardware), nice fit and warm. A great addition, and value, as another layer to deploy when/if needed.

I had eschewed the notion of a vest for years. What about my arms? Having finally taken the plunge, I wonder why I waited so long. Fits like a glove, keeps my torso toasty warm and is rather stylish (imho). Outer pockets are nice and the two inner pockets are awesome as well. Kind of wish it had a keyhook in one of the pockets to clip my keys to but hardly a dealbreaker.

Great vest. Perfect for those who don't like a lot of bulk on their arms, or want to use it as a layer under another item of clothing. The only reason that I don't give it a 5 rating is the that the outer shell isn't rip-stop.

Everyone should have the Mountain Hardwear Micro Ratio Down Vest for Men in their pack, just in case you need a toasty warm down vest that doesn't add a lot of ounces to your load. Stuffed full of Q.Shield Down 650 fill insulation that stays warm and retains loft when wet, the Micro Ratio Down Vest keeps you plenty warm, with baffles that are large to enhance heat retention. The fabric is lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant, and the Micro Ratio Down Vest also has 2 hand warmer pockets that zip closed to keep your small essentials safe and secure.
