The monkey man jacket is excellent. It's warm, fits well, nice pockets and I think is a all around warm jacket. But beware of the fact that the wind you can feel so in windy cold conditions you would need a shell to go over the monkey man jacket.

I bought this fleece because it is made out of the same polartec monkey phur fleece as the Columbia Grizzly Pass fleece jacket, which I love. The material is extremely soft, be prepared to have people touch it. The cut of the jacket is athletic and form fitting. I'm 6"1, 193 lbs. and the large fit great. The sleeves are longer, as advertised, than Mountain Hardwear's Monkey Man jacket or Monkey Man Grid ii jacket. My only grip is that there was quite a bit of fuzz on the inside of my new jacket. It stuck all over my Mountain Hardwear AP pants. One wash took care of all the fuzz though. Overall, I'm very pleased with this fleece.

I wanted to like this jacket, but unless I wanted to use it solely as a mid layer, it was way too tight. Almost looked like a straight jacket. Fit pretty well in length and sleeves for medium but mid section was just too tight to wear alone. I am 5'8, 172, athletic.

I really love these Monkey fur jackets. They do a good job of keeping you warm. A bought one a few years ago and I noticed the fabric blend was slightly different than this new one I bought. The old one seems thicker than this new one. I have to say I prefer the old one. I don't know why they had to go and change it to a thinner, silkier fur. However, I am getting used to it and I have to day it still keeps you very warm. Good product.
