These poles are easy on the shock, have a breakaway system to protect the carbon sections, and have no tool external locks which are really nicely built. Nothing wrong with these. In fact the handles are the most comfortable of all the pairs I have ever owned, which is what sold me n this pair, that and the low weight. So far the best pole I have ever used.
