I believe the MICRO spikes are most effective on ice in addition to being the easiest to put on and remove of many other brands I have tried. The elastic material is good quality and I can say this after having sets last years without stretching or breaking down.

MICROspikes are a must for thick, ice covered parking lots and sidewalks. Anything less is not an option for traversing on this type of terrain.

I absolutely highly recommend 1 or 2 pair as I keep 1 pair in the SUV throughout the winter and 1 pair in my Daypack. I wouldn't navigate the New England winters without them. They work perfectly on both ice and crusty snow.

They were a real game changer. I was able to hike on snow and ice packed trails easily with them. Wish I had purchased them years ago. Would definitely recommend them.

Easy to install on boots. Already saved me from falls on glare ice (with murder powder on top).

We swear by these?have been using them for 5-6 years after going through Yaktrax on an annual basis. Our farm turns to solid ice most winters and these spikes enable us to get around safely. We are happy Kahtoola users!

Only used once so far, but very good. Was on snow packed trail with patchy ice crust. Did not feel them underfoot. Had good traction. Was easy to take on and off.

These are a game changer when it comes to traversing otherwise risky terrain as it pertains to slippery conditions. I ordered the Large for my size 11 boots to prevent a battle installing them. I had no issue with any sloppy fit, and I think my strategy was appropriate.

These particular ice spikes are absolutely amazing. I have one pair that I have taken extremely good care of by hanging over something to allow them to dry after rinsing any de icing product off them. Almost 15 years of use, negates any issues about the price for me. Plus these ice spikes are the only ones I have ever owned that do not clump up snow on the bottom rendering them useless after a short period into one's walk. I like these so much I bought a pair for my son as he loves them. My only petty issue is that my daughter has tiny size 5 ladies feet and they don't come small enough for her, would you ever consider making anything smaller please

For those unfamiliar with the Manitou Incline in Colorado, it consists of 2,768 steps that climb nearly 2,000 feet in less than one mile, with grades reaching as steep as 68 percent. A few weeks ago, after the Front Range received its first significant snowfall of the season, I decided to tackle the Incline. Conditions were mostly ice and packed snow, and climbing such a steep route in those conditions obviously requires reliable traction. This was my first time wearing MICROSpikes, and I couldn't have been more impressed. I had no issues at all on either the ascent or the descent via Barr Trail, which had similar conditions. The spikes were easy to put on and take off, stayed properly positioned for the entire hike, and inspired a lot of confidence. I wore them with my trail runners and Kahtoola RENAgaiter Low gaiters to keep snow out of my shoes. Overall, this was an excellent purchase, and I look forward to using them again soon.

I've been wearing the same set of MicroSpikes for 4 years now. I purchased the size medium and I wear a size 10 shoe in most brands of trail running shoes. the Microspikes fit great, never slip and I know that I can always rely on my Microspikes to keep me upright while running trails in the Pennsylvania winters. I highly recommend!

I've been using these for years. They are very well built, and provide excellent traction in the right conditions. The size Large fits my size 11.5 oboz bridgers 400g insulated boots a little snug, but I also have a size xl which are too loose. The last pair I bought are now my "rock spikes" after using them this shoulder season.

I've owned and used several pairs of these microspikes over the past 15 years. They are easy to put on and provide great traction on firm snow and ice. Much safer and more versatile than snowshoes or crampons on packed trail or road. However, the elastomer (rubber) has a shelf-life and will fail eventually. And when it does, Kahtoola cannot repair and won't replace the product. You'll probably get 5 years of use but don't expect them to last much longer or Kahtoola to take care of you when they fail. I tried and they did not. Also, their marketing says "we've been committed to designing durable, repairable products since day one." Their customer service says "We are not able to repair the elastomer and I do not have replacements for this style."

Haven't used the cleats yet, but are much better quality than others I have tried. Excited to have them for upcoming winter hikes.

Well worth the price! The last pair of these I owned lasted 7 years with fairly heavy use, until I spilled engine oil on them and melted the rubber. Before that I used to buy 1 or 2 pairs of yak traks every year because they'd break.

I was able to take them out within the first week of ordering. I used them to traverse scree fields with two feet of snow on the surface. They worked well and will continue to test them in various climes. They do run a tad large but am able to adjust and pull higher on the boot for a tighter spike fit on the bottom.

Kahtoolas are the only brand I will buy. I've tried several and they don't hold up. I live in Wyoming and hike almost every day. These spikes get hundreds of miles every winter. My significant other and I would be happy to test out any gear like that for durability. She probably gets twice the miles that I do.

I used these for the first time a couple weeks ago on Mt Whitney. They were easy to attach to my trail runners, and worked flawlessly. I highly recommend these for anyone hiking on ice.

Features
Spike Design
Twelve integrated spikes per foot deliver three levels of traction. Tungsten carbide tips bite into ice and packed snow, aluminum steps grip uneven surfaces, and TPU lugs dig into loose terrain.
TPU Traction Matrix
An industry-first TPU Traction Matrix is extremely durable and more abrasion resistant than steel. The open design quickly sheds snow and adapts to a wide range of flexible footwear.
Reinforced Eyelets
Using a patented eyelet design, tough TPU inserts reinforce key stress points, allowing the elastomer harness to be lighter and stronger.
Integrated Toe Bail
Using the same technology and TPU as the reinforced eyelets, an integrated toe bail provides added security and prevents the toe from pushing through the front of the elastomer harness.
Raised Heel Tab
Allows for easy pull-back and removal.
Elastomer Harness
A new TPE elastomer harness geometry optimizes fit and allows for easy entry. Low-profile and highly durable, it remains stretchy in cold temperatures, down to -22 Degree F (-30 Degree C)
