Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Person Tent

I bought the Grand Mesa 4 for motorcycle camping and haven't been out yet, but did set up in the yard. Super easy, took 5-8 minutes for first time. I can definitely can tell the quality is there and really like the high sides and open air mesh material which allowed good flow. Glad I got the 4 man, as there is room for a sleeping pad and my gear inside, which would have been cramped with the 2. Good placement of bins inside for chargers, keys, etc. I researched several tents and have watched several videos on these and other tents and at 7lbs. think it will be perfect for this type of camping. Camping off a 22 Harley RoadGlide. Just purchased the SI sleeping pad and ready to get out! S. Childress

I recently used this for a 6 day hunt and while it worked great, and went up with ease, the floor ripped just from normal use the 3rd day. I'll tape it up and in the future I'll use a tarp under it.

We bought these for our Middle School students. They go camping twice a year. They are perfect. Easy to set up for students. Great tents!

It was time to upgrade my 11-year-old grand mesa 2. I went back and forth for a week + between different kelty tents - comparing every detail and went back to the trusty grand mesa. Got the 4 this time - i expect to use it for years. Ultimately it has the basics I need and is always reliable... I like the vent in the rain fly, i only want 1 door!, a decent amount of fabric up the side walls, quick corners, aluminum poles, spacious vestibule and the bigger dimensions of this one. The color of this tent seems darker in real life vs. online product pictures - i personally love it. Customer service was great. Shipping was quick. I used the tent for the first time this past weekend in good weather in the adirondaks but I have no doubt the fly will hold up well in rain. Especially because its so similar to my old 2 with upgrades. I Fit a full size blow up mattress with room to spare. As i get older more space and a mattress is almost necessary for a great sleep. These budget prices are great - For me I'm using this for car camping...its quality gear that holds up to time and the elements.

One person can put this tent up in just minutes, same with take down. One storm so far with heavy wind and no leaks. This is a great tent!

I purchsed the Grand Mesa 2 for my son to use at scouts. He loved it so much, that I purchased the 4 to use myself at scout campouts. I have always struggled to be able to get my tent back into its bag. Not this time! This is so easy to fold up to fit back in the bag. I had plenty of room for all of my stuff. I love having the vestibule area as well as the color coded rain fly for quick setup.

The tent sets up quickly and is fairly light. I am using for car camping. It fits a queen size air bed with a couple feet on each side.

Used this tent for a two night stay this past weekend in West Virginia. Easy set up at night in the dark. Plenty of room for my wife and I to spread out in. Well ventilated with lots of mesh. This tent has an excellent rainfly as well. The second night we had moderate rain for 10 hours straight, we stayed bone dry inside. Definitely pair with the matching footprint. Would totally buy again.

I?ve wanted a four person tent for awhile now. This one, for me, hits the sweet spot of being large enough but not too bulky or heavy. After years of using one and two person tents, I love the tall door.

Quick and easy setup. Large vestibule. Good rain fly. A little on the heavy side but you get what you pay for. Cramped with 4 adults.

Used the Grand Mesa 3 nights performed great. Heavy rain and wind 1 night tent stayed dry and wasn?t bothered by the wind. Easy to put up and easy to pack up when you?re done. For the money it?s about as good as it gets.

i Initially bought this tent along with the footprint for it, as soon as it came in i put it together and noticed that the Pole Hub (where the poles cross) was the same as the clips that hook onto a single pole, Meaning that you couldn't connect both poles at the top, i ended up calling customer service and they were extremely helpful, sent it back and week later i got my replacement, opened it up and same issue. not sure it if it's the batch i got but by that time i needed it for camping so i gave up on returning it again and used a carabiner to connect the pole hub, which works fine, if i can find just the Pole Hub clip Replacement part I'll gladly do it myself. aside from that the tents great, took it camping recently during a Texas heat wave at lake 106 F, i was able to tie a box fan above us connected to the inside of the tent and it didn't budge at all under the weight, also did good standing up to the heat, we were able to fit a queen size air mattress in there along with all of our gear, since we had about a foot on each side of the mattress front back and sides, I was able to sleep comfortably being 6-1"ft and my girl being 5-2"ft i recommend getting the footprint because it does help make the tent last longer, the aluminum poles are the best I've used as well, lastly having the door be on the skinny side was actually really nice for a change since we were able to keep much more gear in the tent along the long sides without having to walk over it all the time, and it also keeps more bugs out of the tent since the door is smaller. packing up was easy just fold up and roll the poles and stakes up, tie it up and shove it in the bag took about 10mins, so if you're looking for a good quality 4 person tent that will last you a long time look no further, especially if you bring a lot of stuff camping.

Excellent tent. Super easy set up and was rained on 2 nights when we first used it on the Oregon coast. No leaks and stayed dry. Ventilation is excellent and tall ceiling makes it easy to change clothes. Very reasonable price and quality as good as any tent twice the price.

Love my new Grand Mesa 4!!! I had recently retired my Riverbend 3 after 20 years of use but still have it for a spare. I have nothing but good to say about the quality of Kelty tents!

That's what we have used it for so far, and it's excellent. You could easily have 3 people, but 4 would be... pretty cozy. Easy setup, light enough to be no trouble to carry with your gear to the site.

My overall experience using this tent on our first camping trip was positive. The tent is easy to set up and take down. I love that the seams are fully taped from the factory. I have not used it any rain as of yet. My only complaint about the tent is supposed to hold four adults but it was tight for two adults and one child. Overall I am pleased with the tent.

Camped in Moab 30F at night. Stayed warm and dry, poured one night. Easy to set up and take down. Vestibule is nice for dirty boots.

My wife and I purchased this tent for car camping and after using it once so far, we love it. Plenty of room for us and our pup plus gear. It seems very durable, especially around the anchor points for the stakes. We had an issue with our last tent pulling away at the corners leaving room for water to get in so this feature was a must. We haven't used it in the rain yet but I don't think we'll have an issue with staying dry. It seems very well built!

I'm 6 foot 250lbs, my wife and son and I have plenty of room. Plenty of pockets and loops, could use a basket up tip but more than adequate with features. Great for family car camp trips. Looks beautiful set up. Used it in Joshua tree, will be using in yosemite this summer

My daughter and I used this tent for a Girl Scout camping trip. It rained the entire time, the tent kept us very dry. No leaks, and held up in the wind. This tent easily holds 2 twin size mattresses, 4 people only if they are in sleeping bags with no mattresses. The stakes that some with it bend easily. I was very impressed with this tent.
