Setting up was super quick and easy. Materials aren't super tough, so I would recommend thoroughly sweeping away any sharp rocks or pointy branches from the ground prior to setting up or utilizing a tarp/footprint. Deconstruction was a tad bit more technical, as the poles would occasionally get caught in the seems- but still overall a quick process. Great ventilation! Definitely a great accessory to have out on the lake or picnic/extended overlanding trip.

We recently took this on a trip to Maui and were super glad we did. It provides some much needed shelter from the Sun! It provided just the right amount of shade and air flowing through. I would highly recommend it!!

Purchased the cabana for a two week beach trip and couldn’t be happier. Provided great shade and held up well during strong winds and one torrential downpour. We did have an issue with the shock cord coming loose on one of the poles but Kelly customer service was fantastic!!!

The cabana is quick and easy to setup, you can open all the windows to allow the breeze through, and it provides great shade. We set it up for my 1-year old so he could have a place to play out of the sun and it was perfect. One great feature is the backpack/carrier is big enough that you don't need to spend too much time carefully placing it back in when you're done. Prefect for our use.

A bit difficult to put together on a windy beach, but excellent once it's up!

Bought this bad boy for camping trips, and could not be more happier with my purchase. Easy to set up and take down, and big enough to fit the whole family in. Yet another great product from kelty!

I can't believe I ever went to the beach without a shelter. 10/10 would nap in it again.

Set-up is tough with one person. But the quality of the product is great. Way bigger than I imagined, so I feel like it is a great value.

for all its bells & whistles, it holds up good. But the large poll needs to be put through delicately, as it gets hung up through the sheath...

I already own many Kelty items and love them all and this one is no different. As I always read the reviews to see the good and bad others are saying about a product I’ll try and leave my comment in an effort to help you make the best decision. Good: - The cabana is fairly tall. I like this because it makes getting in and out easy. It also allows plenty of head room while moving about inside the cabana; getting kids changed on the beach, feeding a baby, making snacks, etc. - The floor mat / front door. Great feature for give everyone a place to brush off before actually getting in the cabana. Also offers even more floor space for the space just outside the tent where the shelter is providing some shade. Also great for when you need a quick minute of privacy. - Simple to set up. Slide the three poles through the sleeves on the shelter, pop the feet of the poles in place and you’re up and running. Bad: - The small details. Maybe I’m just spoiled with all my other Kelty gear but this one just seems to be missing that final touch. Things like a gear pocket inside would be nice. The sandbags hold enough sand to keep the cabana in place but the closing feature is subpar and just allows sand to slowly spill out the closing and into the floor space. - The poles and sleeves could be better. Again, maybe I’m just spoiled, but my Kelty tents greatly benefit from some nice DAC poles. They’re lighter, easier to maneuver and work much better than the fiberglass poles on the cabana. The main pole is so long and heavy it’s difficult to slide through the sleeve without it flopping all over. I’d also love it if the just ditched the sleeves and used the quick clips found on their tents as well. - Cross-breeze windows. Very nice feature allowing decent airflow, but they seem a little low. The top of the opening sits well below my head and face, two areas I’d like to have cooled off by that nice breeze. The fasteners are okay, but are a little cumbersome at times. Conclusion: I’d still recommend this cabana to anyone looking for an option for portable shade. It goes anywhere and looks great in any condition. Whether at the beach, next to the kids soccer pitch, the field at the park or a nice day lakeside in the mountains this will do what you need. For Kelty though, you have a good thing here, but honestly we all know it could be a little better and I’d be willing to bet many of us would be willing to pay a tad more for some added improvements. Thanks for creating great products for us everyday enthusiast.

This cabana is roomy, I could fit multiple chairs with adults. The cross breezeways were perfect and helped cool us down in the blazing sun.

The cabana is huge! There's room for several people to lay down inside. Setup takes longer than it should due to the poles needed to be threaded through the pole sleeves. Setup would be much better/faster if Kelty incorporated pole hooks like they do on their latest tents. The instructions are pretty basic, and there aren't any videos online demonstrating setup. It comes with sandbags and guy lines, but not instructions or demonstrations on how to use them.

Plenty big for multiple adults, can pull the threshold up and close it off. It sets up similar to a tent and has three poles. If I was being picky the only thing I would say I'm not a fan of is the sleeves that the pols run through, this is how a vast majority of tents are but I may be spoiled with my kelty tent as it has clips that fit onto the poles and you don't have to slide them through sleeves

Bought this for a trip to Maui with our infant grandchildren. I actually took the time to practice set up at home prior to the trip which was a real lifesaver.Got my setup/tear down time to under 3 mins.Trick is to push the poles out of the sleeves back against the stops because when you pull them and they come apart in the sleeves,it’s a mess. Cabana was perfect for keeping gear in the shade and a great place to sneak off for a nap. Absolutely love it! Cheap too

Great for the beach only thing I don’t like about it is that the poles are difficult to take out. Set up is quick and easy but the poles want to separate in the material which cause you to have to feed the actions through. This makes tear down take a while.

This did great as a gear shelter during a music festival. I think the colors are perfect for keeping it cool. I also love how the extended floor becomes a wall. I have a few issues with fabrication, my toggles don't fit in the designated loops, other then that small issue I would suggest this to any friends.

For my area, it would be better if the roof had air vents to let the heat escape. Sitting in a tall chair, I could definitely feel the heat on my head. I hope the next model will be able to be engineered with roof vents. I am happy with the Cabana.

The cabana itself is great, it comfortably kept steady rain off a small group of adults and children for over an hour. The packing bag isn't large enough for easy packing, care and planning is required, which I think defeats the purpose for us of having it quickly deployed and stashed in the trunk of the car. But that doesn't change that we really like the overall product.

We've only used it once but so far have been happy and got several complements and questions about it.. Only reason for a 4 star vs 5 is that the QC on the pole sleeves could have been a bit better. One of mine was sewn just a tad tight where the poles intersect, which makes it a tight squeeze for the pole connector to make it through and will likely result in either premature wear, or a tear. Also, not so much a complaint but more of a FYI, the mesh in the back windows is not no-see-um mesh. Since it is a cabana it's not like we're expecting a bug-free environment though.

What happens in your Cabana, stays in your Cabana. Now you've scored the privacy and comfort for day-long play. Our updated Cabana sets up like a breeze, so your crew can come and go as they please. The movable front wall and window covers toggle up and down to go with your preferred air flow.
